This had just the right amount of detail. Although I am not installing a different head unit, it all applies especially in older model TJs. The 2000s seem to have more videos but console is a little different. Thanks

Slick, and you’ve got a C L E A N Jeep! Just had my TJ’s stereo done and love it, went with a Sony DSX-GS80 but I’m digging that Boss double-din for cameras. I’m feeling the need for a front when cresting hills and backup to see around my spare that sits high on the tire carrier.
I should be installing the camera in about a week or 2

But it through Crutchfield like I did, reason being is the radio after a year froze and Crutchfield sent me a new one no questions asked.

Amy updaye on the radio? I have everything except the radio and the double plug in (which one is that BTW?) for my build just haven't pulled the trigger on the radio yet!
The radio is working great, no complaints at all. If you look at one of the other comments I put the links for both the radio and the faceplate. You need to go ahead and get it done, not expensive and we'll worth the upgrade.
Off topic question, are your HVAC controls original? If not where did you get it? I am having trouble finding a new/good condition one with the a/c controls. Thanks. Great video by the way.

Did you ever connect the backup camera? I didn't see the video on your channel on that.
When you ground the green wire (emergency brake wire) to the head unit ground cable, do you remember what the color is for that ground wire? Can that green wire be grounded to the frame? Thanks
I have never connected the backup camera since I purchased the mirror which has the backup camera on it. Its been so long I don't remember what wire is with the green one. If its grounded then you can ground it on the frame.

Did you just drill/modify the head assembly to be able to screw it in?

Since Double DIN radios come in different size configurations.... which size is right for the TJ?
I'm not sure, but if you go into the website below and it in year make and model it will show you which radios and speakers will fit

Yes I did because if not it would not work

All you have to do is take the barking brake wire which should be green and ground it.

What did you do for the ashtray delete?
When I purchased the radio mount it came with 2 ashtray deletes, a small tray and a flat plate. I used the flat plate on mine

@@MACWIRELESS it will fit, my jeep is a 97 sport. Just watch my video because you will have to cut a small piece on the dash to install the radio

@@FAFOWeekendAdventures I saw it I subscribed 2 ur channel and saw the video will it hold a phone with a case on it..I bought the cup phone holder for my work truck and my s 20 with a otter case just barely fit

@@FAFOWeekendAdventures I just went online and bought the DD Dash for the 97 -02. It's a single din dash 03 and up was factory DD sorta.. but I bought the conversion dash this am.

@@FAFOWeekendAdventures Worked out pretty good. Just a little tinkering. I had to use spacers behind the heater lever console to move it closer to the new center console. Then I had to ad a screw to the face down low in the center because those snap together things didn't want to hold so well. They held but I liked the screw, now its not gonna pop loose.
