May I ask, i grow in the UK and just wondering why you only fill halfway in the pots? The plants here look amazing - really amazing. Am i missing a trick? I always fill to the top but yours seems to flourish with less soil? Cheers!
Hello, Jim! Thanks for subscribing. I usually try to fill them almost to the top with soil, but with a few of the pots, I ran out of soil before I ran out of pots! With the Reapers, I've found that the bigger the pot, the bigger the yield. I've tried using smaller pots, but they just don't produce many peppers, so I try to got big. Good luck with your pepper growing and please stay tuned to my channel. I try to post at least one new video each month throughout the season.
Not sure about the size, but it's probably pretty close to 20 gallons. I try to use the larger pots, as I've found that the smaller pots just don't produce the same yield as the larger ones. These Reapers need big pots and deep roots to really produce.
Hi, Lee! No, nothing special really. I just had a bunch of them in close proximity to each other. I guess I have the bees to thank for the good pollination.
Do you plan to overwinter? Do you give tea? What is your ave summer temp and humidity? Us in Reno nv get low humidity in 20’s at night with day temps this year in mid to upper 90’s ave. Our plants are large but not many flowers turning. We even fertilize both slow release and liquid feed. Use NFTG. We notice as temps lowering on average to lower 90’s daytime for us with 60’s for night more plants are turning to pods. You seem to have longer grow season too. We have peak opp from mid May to end of Sept, early Oct.
@@roberttillotson6861 I may overwinter one or two of these, but I usually prefer to start with new plants every year. I save the seeds from the best-looking pods and plant them for my next season. I'm in central Kentucky and right now we are getting high temps in the low 80's. I don't use tea (never heard of that except for starting seed germination to remove bacteria.)
How do you get them so full with small pots I use 10 gallon grow bags and they are bigger than yours but not as Mutch bigger as I though seeing the size of your pots this was my first year growing peppers so idk 🤷♂️
I've removed the leaves at the lowest part of the plants and I've heavily fertilized all of the plants. I think that's what has caused them to branch out.
@@patluvsvettes yeah I've started fertilizing more and more this season and will def kick it up a notch next year. But beside that the weather this summer (in Scandinavia) have been so-so. Btw is it bought fertilizer or some homemade stuff you use?

@@patluvsvettes makes sense. Thank you for the reply and upload.
je te regarde depuis la France, ta récolte va être incroyable :)
It 's going great so far! My plants are full of peppers and flowers. Even entered a few in the Kentucky State Fair. Thanks for watching!
Good looking plants. Did you do anything special for pollination to get that many pods?
Hi, Lee! No, nothing special really. I just had a bunch of them in close proximity to each other. I guess I have the bees to thank for the good pollination.
@ That is great. My scorpion pepper last year was not as productive. I need to get some bees!

Looks like you would give 1gal per day ave? Correct?

What type of Fertilizer you using on these peppers ? And frequenzy on putting them?
I used Miracle Gro water soluable and also Miracle Gro Spring Forward granules. Fertilized every couple of weeks.
@ Thank you.
@@mikcoyob1272 You're very welcome! Please subscribe to my channel. I'll be posting more content next year showing the progress of my pepper growing.
Are those more than 1 plant in each pot and what fertilizer are you using ?
Yes, there's about 3-4 plants to a pot. I have been using Miracle Gro fertilizer mostly, but I'm using several different ones this year.
Is it 1 plant per pot? It looks like several plants in each pot you have. Just curious. They all look great either way!
Most posts have anywhere from 3-4 plants per pot, with the exception of the two small pots that only have one.
We have aphids, don't know how to keep them off my plants 😢

Damn looks good, the fruits on my Reapers are small still.
Might try adding some fertilizer. My plants really took off after that.

I’m jealous my chickens keep eating away I hope their still enough time so mines can grow
I'm in central Kentucky and just now starting to harvest my peppers. I put them outside the last weekend in April.
how often do you fertilize?
I've been fertilizing about once a month.
@@patluvsvettes thank you!

Got some fish emulsion fertilizer for next year!
