    Really happy to hear him say he keeps his batteries paired to keep the cells balanced. I do the same thing, even with my AA and AAA batteries.

    Any time you want more efficiency out of any mower, make sure the blades are very sharp. Slightly more aerodynamic I'd wager, and of course it will cut the grass easier. Pretty sure it's healthier for the grass as well.

    Nice update John, every time I dig my Fossil fuel burning pile of poo out of the shed I curse it and wish I had a battery lawnmower. It is so noisy I have to wear ear defenders, it's smelly and requires constant fettling to keep it running, never mind the expense of petrol and yearly servicing.
    Unfortunately it's only a couple of years old so I will be cursing it for a few more years I suspect and my garden is large so I need a 20" cut at least.
    BTW the biggest killer of Li-ion cells like those in your batteries is keeping them fully charged or discharged all the time, they're the opposite of Lead acid cells and prefer to be kept at around 3.7V per cell and then fully charged (or preferably 80% charged) before needed. I'm guessing you have 5 cells in each battery so the ideal voltage to keep them at would be around 18.5V I don't know if you can do that when solar charging tho.
    Keep up the good work

    Hi John ,I have the same machine and I do like you leave the grass box off and wedge open the flap, my problem is about 6 months ago I got a large stone come up and caused some damage to a flywheel ,I cant find spare parts anywhere which has put me off building my work tool collection any further,

    I’ve just removed the bag collector and put in the mulching piece. It shakes now, do you experience this?

    Hi ,
    I’m wondering if the quality of cut is significantly worse than your petrol? And had this appeared to damage your lawn?
    My worx seems to tear at the grass ever so slightly, leaving the tips brown and lawn has gradually got worse over past year, could be lack fertiliser etc . I have since sharpened the other day so hoping this makes a difference,
    I’m keen to keep the battery power for the convenience and my old style erbauer batterie work in this too.
    Cheers

      I've not noticed any degradation of the grass, but as with all mowers the blade will need sharpening, which I have done a couple of times.

    Is there anyway to make the blade lower, can I put a spacer or washers. On the lowest setting, 20mm the deck of the mower is 24mm above the ground and on this shortest cutting height, it barely takes anything off the length of the grass. I have mowed for the first time using this mower and the lawn does not look cut the next day , whereas my old electric corded bosch mower gave a cut look finish and the lawn did not need cutting for 1 to 2 weeks whereas with this mower I might have to cut in a few days. Thinking of returning the worx mower unless it can be made to cut lower. Any ideas?

    Ive just bought one, its great..... but.
    On my maiden run found it stalled regularly. Weve just moved into a new place and the grass was long and thick, it had also been raining a lot (but not in the previous 24hrs or more). I set the mower to turbo and had the body lifted pretty high and every time Id hit a big clump of grass itd stop.
    Im not familiar with electric lawnmowers, and maybe Im expecting too much, but does this sound normal to you? Thanks for the vid!

    • @johnnodge4327
      @johnnodge4327  2 года назад

      This mower is light, with small motor by petrol standards, so it needs a bit of care when the grass is long.
      Mine has no problems with longer grass, but you have too take it slowly, or the blades bog down and stall.
      I now mainly use a robot mower, with the battery mower being used for the first cut of the season, and to do the edges where the robot can't get.

      @@johnnodge4327 thanks for the speedy response. Yep, sounds like I shouldnt expect too much and go easier. The lawn was in pretty bad shape so maybe it was a one off.
      Robot mower sounds great! Maybe my next upgrade when I get tired of doing it manually (and have more funds) :)
      Thanks again

    I bought mine last week, I cut three of my lawns great yesterday, but no grass was in the collector, am i doing something wrong? The back flap was lifted so I could fit the collection box/bag, so I don’t know what the problem is. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Thank you.

      The "black thing" is the mulching unit. If you don't want to mulch, you pull that piece out. If you want to mulch, place it back inside the mower chute.

    Can’t you use the uncut grass as your guide? Also, nobody on my block bags their clippings, we all mulch. It’s better for the environment and makes mowing easier.

    • @johnnodge4327
      @johnnodge4327  3 года назад

      It doesn't come with a mulching plug, so the manufacturer has avoided that one. I suspect battery run time would be short when mulching.

    I have my mower approx 5 months and today my second battery is showing a red light and is mot recharging.. what to do?

    • @johnnodge4327
      @johnnodge4327  Год назад

      When that happens, it means the battery has got over discharged. If I have that (it's not common), but I trick the battery working again with my bench power supply. You could try charging the battery that won't charge with the battery that is charged, but it could also damage both batteries.

    This mower is worthless, I have used it twice and for only the side walk since our lot is a corner lot. It quit and now it will not start. The bag was coming apart at the seams so I did not even get to use it. It will cost me too much to ship it back. I give it a very bad rating and do not even buy it..
