I moved to Switzerland 5 years ago from NYC, and have been to Lugano loads of times...HOWEVER..after watching your video I feel like I need to revisit asap as it appears I've missed a ton of amazing adventures Ticino has to offer.
Yes, been to Switzerland a hundred times. We went to Ticino too .. super love the small village . House made of stone. One time it was raining we entered a small chapel while waiting for the rain to stop we sing a lullaby song for our daughter .. the accoustic in the chapel is so amazing :) Did Paragliding in Emetten and explore all the mountains by trekking. Switzerland is truly heaven on earth ❤
That's what I'm talking about! Ticino is one of the most beautiful cantons of Switzerland, and those activities were amazing! Can't wait to see what's next!
I live in Ticino and this video is really complete of all that you can find here! I really like the good publicity that you are making with this video!! Grazie mille! Spero che verrete in molti ad ammirare il Ticino!
Last May I traveled through Switzerland for the first time. I'd heard of Ticino but was disappointed that I packed too much into my trip to get there. Then someone said, hey it's only an hour from Zurich by train to Lugano so, off I went. It turned out to be one of the most memorable parts of my European tour. Amazing! The lake and the restaurants in Lugano are fantastic. I can't wait to get back there and see more. That little village looks fantastic and I heard there's a cool festival in Belinzona (the capital). A word of warning though: while everybody in the German speaking regions of Switzerland speak English, not so in Ticino. Children in Switzerland learn two languages. In the north, it's German and English but in the south it's Italian and German. A third language is pushing the limits. Also keep in mind that almost nothing is open on Sundays and public holidays. Restaurants and the occasional souvenir store is about it. The shopping strips are a ghost town. That even goes for the cosmopolitan cities like Zurich. Still, I am in love with Switzerland.
Nothing open on Sundays is a good thing. It creates a peaceful environment like it was in the 1950sxand early 1960s in America. I think the train from Zurich is 2 hours, but it is close. I am not wild about the Germsn language or the heavy German food, so Ticino & Geneva are more appealing though German Switzerland has tons of beauty. The trains are abso, lutely the best! Zurich is also one of the nicest cities in the world, but country is quite expensive.
I went to the American University in Ticino and I ADORE IT!! One of the best places in the world- but even in living there for 4 years this video opened me up to some adventures I didn't know about which I"ll hit next week when I visit again. Thanks for posting Vaga Bros.
So much awesome in this video! I visited Switzerland with my family in July 2005. Loved Geneva - flew into and out of the city and spent a few days there. Traveled inland to Interlaken. Did lots of great hiking in the Alps - so gorgeous! So glad you guys got to paraglide. I was supposed to go but after our van full of people climbed to the top of the mountain and practiced running down the hill with our guides, heavy clouds and light rain moved in and we never got to go. Definitely yes, now I want to visit Ticino!
Hey Julie! Bummer about not getting to Paraglide, that was seriously one of the coolest things we've ever done. Thanks for watching, commenting, and subscribing! Cheers!
Great shots, especially the Swiss River Adventures part ! Love the style of your show, we want to add Switzerland to our travel list now! Just launched our first episode from Croatia
I'm happy you enjoyed your stay in Ticino, I'm from there and you really showed the "heart" of the canton with this beautiful video. I hope you'll come back one day :)
I lived there for just over a year a small town called Yverdons les Bains. Did not make Ticino. All the more reason to go back. I travelled from Bern to Torino. Have yet to travel the german and romansh parts. Picnics on the lake in Luasanne and Geneva i absolutely loved as cities go, Incredibly beautiful and the people soo friendly. I went to to mountains regions with hot springs and spas. Ate fondue. Got juice directly from farmers, watched electrical storms over the amazing lakes. hang gliders, bbqs, proper seasons, amazing fresh healthy food amd living, protected architect, amazing road network, so many things. Montreux lake was such a beast! I must return.
Great video!! I've been to Switzerland many times and also went paragliding, I definitely want to go check out Ticino and check out all the other activities!
Wow love the video and canyoning looks like so much fun. Definitely something i need to add to my bucket list! Same with paragliding. Keep up the good work, you guys are the best!
Awesome video! I've been to Switzerland a couple of times, but everytime I go there I'm astonished how much different landscapes this small country has. What I enjoyed most was the capitol Bern and Ticino as well!
My family comes from Switzerland, beside the french part in a small little place named Basel, so i go there every once in a while and I've visited lucerne which was also beautiful
Yeah guys! I'm from Ticino, and you have described really good the beauty of our country, when you comes again call me and i'll be glad to show you more beautiful places ;) Ciao! Zac
Damn! I'm working my ass off right now to pay for my UK/European holiday in 2015. Every time I feel like quitting I get a message that another awesome Vagabrothers video is on RUclips. Your videos provide the perfect inspiration to keep going. Love the vids. Thanks for showing us what the world has to offer!
Hey jonathan eb we love that our videos help inspire you to get out and travel, even if you can't right this moment. Safe travels in 2015, any clear idea where you are headed?
vagabrothers Right now, London & Paris are on the list of places to go. I don't have specific plans while staying in these cities. I'm not one for touristy areas. I'd much rather hop on a bus and get lost. Or ask the locals where they like to hangout. And of course, watching your videos gives me great ideas like dining at Jim Haynes (in Paris) and checking out the street art culture in Shoreditch. Thanks for the interest in my travel plans, and please keep the videos coming!
I love Lugano and your sense of adventure. I first went to CH several decades ago and took a train from Montreux to Lucern for my 21st birthday. No birthday since has ever lived up to that. Also saw Geneva, Bern, and several mountain valleys, it is simply the most beautiful country in the world! I love the French language the best, but Ticino has the best weather, and. Ove it's access to Italy - including Lake Como. The canyoneering and paragliding was awesome, but I will take a pass on the bungee jumping. It is probably very safe, but my heart prefers less of a jolt. Nice you got to cook so m e local- and the Italian diet is much more appealing than the heavy German food. Geneva is beautiful and has the French food influence, but weather is not as nice, and it has that globalist vibe from all the international bureaucrats living there. Lausanne is another nice "L" city in Switzerland, along with Lucern, Locarno and Lugano. I love the little vil.ages, too, such as Morcote. Just being on the lake is great andcthe architecture and cuisine along the lake is the epitome. I hope to spend 6 months/year here, as Alril 1 - Oct 31 is delightful and even thexoff-months are still pretty pleasant and Ticino is not overrun by visitors. The only time you need a car is for out of town getaways. Lake Como is close and an absolutely heavenly lake resort vacation! Once you have been to Switzerland, CA is pretty ordinary (I lived 13 years there, but left before the nutballs took over. Gavin Gruesome has destroyed just about everything good about the state. Sure hope he loses his recall on Sept 14th.
My girlfriend from Zurich has a friend in Ticino and took videos from her car and i have been to Grindelwald on an investor meeting and loved it, i also lived in Berlin,Germany 10 wonderful years
This is amazing!!! Really enjoying your videos guys :) I'm currently studying in the Rhone-Alps region of France, trying to plan a weekend trip to Switzerland next month...maybe I'll end up in Ticino!
GREAT video again guys. I would love to visit Ticino. Another place to put on my list. That stone village was beautiful. As for the paragliding and bungee jumping they made my toes curl so I don't know about doing them. LOL. Can't wait to see what else you have planned. Big Dave
wow, that damn...crazy! I loved the goldeneye movie & video game. I was in 8th grade when it came out, and i spent hours and hours and hours playing with my brother & buddies.
I've been to Switzerland but only to Interlaken-- I must admit I'd never heard of Ticino before your video! Looks lovely though. Also, the bungee-jumping footage is SICK-- I felt my heart drop when I was watching. I went canyon jumping in Interlaken but it wasn't quite as scary as what you guys did :)
ummm, jealous! What an amazing time...all of it. I love that you guys try out the local dishes (making them too!) and the local culture (the thrillist stuff is pretty cool too). Well done, well done.
Absolutely mindblowing and breathtaking views! I will certainly visit this region. It's close to Milan, isn't it? I like your videos, guys and I wish you all the best. Greetings from Poland
Currently having a vaga marathon! you guys are really inspiring... next week im heading off on a roadtrip around Australia with my girlfriend, planning to vlog the way. Would love to meet you guys some day! Thanks!!
That place is gorgeous, those shots up from the sky during your paragliding time were amazingly awesome! And you guys are getting fancy too but without forgetting the 'wild side', cool! =p Oh, I laughed so much with the 'Swiss Rio de Janeiro'! Dunno why! Hahaha
Glad you enjoyed the video. We had such a good time in Ticino, it's so beautiful and has the perfect balance of adventure and culture! Cheers Vagabuddy!!
Great video. I met Matias from RUclips yesterday and he suggested I follow you guys - sorry I missed you at the gala last night, boyfriend had a pop-up restaurant I needed to help out with.
If you head it back to Switzerland you should definitely visit Zurich and Bern! Both cities wonderful and different. Bern is a small cozy city with many nice "berners" and a nice river (the Aare). Zürich is totally different from Bern. It's often confused as the capital of Switzerland - it's one of the best party cities I know. And the lake of Zurich is stunning. There are a lot of places which must be seen and explored!! ;)
Hey guys! Amazing video once again. You guys really have the ability to make any place seem so awesome and worth visiting! And yes, I'd personally wish to visit Ticino if possible. I've been to Switzerland, specifically Interlaken and Lucerne two years back and spent Christmas Day on the "top" of Europe - Jungfrau. Great adventures you had guys. I like the video so much. I'm going to visit Ticino this August (exactly 29 days from now). So excited :) I'd like to know the name of the stony village. It looks amazing, and if there is any similar village with old stony houses. Keep posting amazing videos
What a great one guys! It looks beautiful over there :) And I must say I think you are really brave, I have a fear of heights and I wouldn't be able to do half of what you guys did haha! My way of trying to conquer my fear was going a zipline tour....a little less extreme eh! haha
Sick! I actually live in Ticino now:) when were you guys here? I started college in August at Franklin University in Lugano, and I'm loving it here. Seriously want to try paragliding!
Mates, this is an awesome Video! Were you ever contacted from Switzerland Tourismus or anything like that? This is one of the best "promo" Videos from the south Switzerland I have ever seen and our lazy marketing and Tourism Industry could use something like this :-D All the best guys! Hope you keep it up!

+Yoon How did you get a visa to live there?
Yes, been to Switzerland a hundred times. We went to Ticino too .. super love the small village . House made of stone. One time it was raining we entered a small chapel while waiting for the rain to stop we sing a lullaby song for our daughter .. the accoustic in the chapel is so amazing :)
Did Paragliding in Emetten and explore all the mountains by trekking. Switzerland is truly heaven on earth ❤
That's what I'm talking about! Ticino is one of the most beautiful cantons of Switzerland, and those activities were amazing! Can't wait to see what's next!
Thanks Hingrid! We agree! Ticino was so amazing. We are trying to get back to Switzerland this winter to make some more snow content :) any tips?
I live in Ticino and this video is really complete of all that you can find here! I really like the good publicity that you are making with this video!!
Grazie mille! Spero che verrete in molti ad ammirare il Ticino!
That little village with the stone houses makes me want to get on a plane right now. That area of the world is so beautiful!

There are a lot of places which must be seen and explored!! ;)
i agree with you. lovely video
Amazing as always!
Thanks Jamie Donovan we appreciate your view, like and comment! Cheers!
Was my first time experiencing real snow and the scenery up there was simply majestic! Just a question - is paragliding scary? Would love to try it but am not a fan of heights as well. Hope you guys would see this! - Nathaniel from Singapore.
