thank you to the staff, responsible for our armed forces, i am hopeful you will all get the resources you need to accomplish your mission. hooah!yah!rah! and god speed.
Thank you ladies and gentlemen for your help in this important matter. You have been a great help and example of how we need to be better in our lives and our dealing within this dynamic environment
Same ol song and dance. Here are the Cliff Notes---- We gotta unify our forces. We are a little weak in one spot but we are working on it. We have to use new technology. We have to utilize and work seamlessly with our foreign partners
Brilliant question on selective service requirements deftly dodged… I’m sorry for whatever politics prevented responses. I would love to hear the panel’s off the record responses.
On how do you expand the universe from which you draw future warfighters: my son is applying to an academy. He needs a military recommendation. No one in our family has military experience or exposure. Does that mean the academies should not have our son in attendance? I don’t think so. I hope folks rethink these attitudes. He’ll figure it out. But it is becoming harder as the military gets smaller. Not sure that strategy still serves its mission.
I agree National service would be beneficial for America. As we have splintered with the advent of so many niche forms of entertainment/distraction, we have improved individual life experiences but have lost shared communal experiences. Those would have been recognized as “water cooler” moments in an earlier time. National service would serve to create an American bond in something beyond “my right to…”. Wouldn’t have to be military service, necessarily, although the services would benefit. It would introduce a physical fitness component, which would be good for the overall health of the nation. But most importantly, it would create a shared ownership in this country for younger generations that would benefit us all. It is an idea that needs to be discussed publicly.
@@The1DUIGuy As you state well, a National Service does not need to imply Military Service. An individual might have a choice between several paths which provide a similar sense of “shared ownership in this country”. The military being a choice, one that does not necessarily fit every individual or the military itself. As the country has moved more toward a multi-cultural society it becomes even more critical to reflect and create shared bonds, those that can provide, yes, a “shared ownership”

We have need for our military leaders to plan for these things even if we are working to achieve the goal which will see these things of no need
GOD BLESS AMERICA¡¡

It's time to have a serious conversation regarding a required National Service for ALL men and women (18-20). There is no free lunch.
