This is such great advice. A few years ago when I was 16/17, I used to think just smashing out 6 hours was the way to go because “that’s what the pros do”. Totally counter productive in my opinion. 2/3 hours of completely focused practice with short breaks in between has been perfect and made things more enjoyable and accelerated progress. Usually 25 minute chunks then a 5 minute break.
I started practicing in smaller chunks and taking more breaks in the last couple of years and it has really helped me play more relaxed and progress in areas of my playing where I felt I was sort of stuck.
I practice for 3 hours a day. Also, I do it in 10-minute spurts. 10 on a single rudiment then a 5-minute break then 10 mins on a different rudiment. I had to do this for my University degree. It actually helps way more than cramming everything into the brain.

Wow, I love the idea of taking breaks! It's given me a whole new perspective. Thanks so much, Adam.
