I sold the Bearhawk to make room for my next build... The Sling TSi. Check this link for more information about the Sling TSi. slingaircraft.....
The Sling TSi Kit is the airplane Sling fans have been waiting for. All of the style, economy and practical utility of the Sling 4, but with more SPEED! Harnessing the power of the Rotax 915iS or the all new Rotax 916iS turbo-charged, fuel-injected and FADEC engine, the Sling TSi maintains the quiet, comfortable and smooth ride with an extra dose of horsepower.
The Sling TSi features an all-new high speed wing design: optimized for the power and weight of the aircraft. The leading edge of the wing is flush-riveted for low drag. The forward fuselage and empennage are also flush-riveted. The landing gear is airfoiled, low-drag wheel pants incorporated and there is a new cowling design.
The interior, seating, ventilation and heating are improved for passenger comfort and luxury.
Although the Sling TSi shares a similar appearance and the distinctive “Sling attitude” with the Sling 4, it only shares about 20% parts in common. It is a completely new aircraft, with different design goals than the Sling 4. The main result of these changes is SPEED.

Please don’t take down any of the Bearhawk build videos because they are a great resource both now and in the future for the rest of us. ..Thanks for sharing all of your work with us!
Oh, the Bearhawk videos will not come down. Put too much time and energy into those to just delete them. If you look at my channel, I have various "Play Lists". I have all of the Bearhawk videos under Bearhawk Life Videos. When I begin the Sling TSi build, I will create another Play List for it. Thanks for watching!
I actually got to see your bearhawk in person this past weekend with the new owner. It was Magnificent! The job you did on it was incredible. My goal is to find something comparable to your build or be a buyer for the next one you build.
Thank you, Sir!
I sure hope to watch your next build. You did such a great job on the Bearhawk. I'm hoping the next owner has a channel so we can see some adventures.
Thank you!
thank you for being a big part of the Bearhawk community!
Thanks Jo! Looking forward to seeing your first flight and beyond!
hello neighbor! enjoyed the video. Im in the university area and looking to get into aviation. I spend a lot of time out at Charlotte Douglas watching the planes. Looking forward to seeing the completion of your next build.
Oh that's great! Good luck with your endeavor! Thanks for watching!
I can't wait to see how you build the Tsi! I do however want to visit and showoff the bearhawk once finished. I guess you'll always be part of the community no matter what your flying.
Absolutely! I will always fly the Bearhawk flag! I look forward to your visit!
I can't wait to see what you built next, Rob!
Thanks Eric!
Ordered a bearhawk 5 kit earlier this year and enjoyed watching your build. I can see the appeal to the sling tsi. They would make a perfect commuter. Good luck on the new build. Will eagerly await the new videos.
Good luck on your BH5 build!
Sling seems like a great kit. Looking forward watching sling build videos!
I'm excited!
The sling flies great. I have flown 3 new build sling TSI for the first hours to test and check the build. Fantastic airplane!
@@Aviator_Spoekyventus So glad to hear that endorsement!
Glad to see you making new adventures happen!
Thanks! I'm looking forward to it!
Excited to watch you build the sling
Thank you! I appreciate you watching!
Bummer! That’s an awesome build. You did a great job….
Thanks 👍
Pro Corporate heavy jet pilot for 40+ years, but GA tailwheels were my beginning and will be my end!
Thanks for carrying the load for GA airplanes!!!
Absolutely!
Best wishes on the next chapter. I watched all of Evan Brunye's TSI build videos. I was strongly considering the new Sling TSI high wing version, but at Sun N Fun the rep told me it would be three years just to receive the kit!
Even was a big reason why I chose the TSi.
Hello fellow bald pilot. I'm finding myself in a similar predicament with my RV-8A. Love the airplane, still finishing wheel fairings and it needs paint but it just doesn't fit my mission anymore. Very interested in a sling hw. If you're available I'd like to talk with you how you came to your decision here, timing, and all that. Safe building/flying.
For me it was a move from legacy to modern. Nothing wrong with the Bearhawk. Managing temps and pressures is how most of us learned to fly. But I was looking for automation and a reduction with inflight work loads. Something my family would be comfortable flying with improved ingress/egress. Economy and safety were also what attracted me to the Rotax powered Sling. As far as HW versus LW, just a personal preference. Both are incredible airplanes. Thanks for watching!
😮 Keep it up! Great content whatever you do. Much appreciated. Look forward to seeing more.
Thanks so much!
Can’t wait to watch you build the next one.
I'm looking forward to building it!
Jill See was going to be my realtor when I lived in Mooresville years ago.
Ok!
@@TheBaldPilot I believe she is one of your neighbors. I used to rent at Lake Norman Airpark.
@@KGSpradleyAuthor It's a really great place to live.
Okay, so beautiful Bearhawk. I've made it 2 minutes and 30 seconds into your video and... is that a Miracle Truss hangar with a Higher Power door? How fun was that to design and build? The clear span mezzanine - I've spent a year researching and finally just decided to go red iron. There's a serious lack of hangar design videos out there. Looks great! Congratulations on such a quick sale of your aircraft! That's the type of validation and accomplishment for hard work that makes it worthwhile.
Thank you! The building is World Wide Steel. Miracle Truss is no more. And you nailed it on the door, Higher Power!
@@TheBaldPilothow was your experience with World Wide Steel? They’re located about 45 minutes from me and their website looks great. Was thinking about planning a home/shop and using them for the structure.
@@ethanlegrand33 Can't say enough about them. They were great to work with and the product is exceptional!
Hey, just doing some research on the Bearhawk and came across your channel. Love the playlists. The Bearhawk is decidedly the LSA I'm going with and yes, I will be getting a tailwheel endorsement back-to-back with my Sport Pilot Certificate. I chose the Bearhawk because it fits my needs in the Alaskan bush where I have enough property to build a 500+ft dirt runway. I also intend to build my own hangar on my property.
From start to finish, how much did it cost you?
How long do you think it'd take a first-time builder (like myself) to build the kit?
I am 6'1", 254lbs: How's the head/leg space? (I am not sure how tall/heavy you are)
I'm 6' 2" and I fit fine in the BH. However I did wear a helmet when flying because of the cross tube above my head. I dod not track my expenses when I built the BH. But I know it was north of $175K. The LSA is the easiest of all the BH's to fly. You'll love it!
Welcome to the Sling community!
Thanks Sean!
That blows my mind that you sold it already
Me too. It has a great new owner!
Followed much of your Bearhawk build; will you be documenting your Sling build?
Yes I will continue to document my build on this channel.
I'd build the High Wing Sling for "reasons".
Three year wait for the HW.
Uhh, not your mission,, what is your mission?? Why not a RV 10??
I looked at the RV-10. The Sling beat it out in almost every category! Economy, comfort, automation, ease of build (no rivet bucking), ballistic parachute...
Is the Sling going to be a taildragger?
Noooo. Tri gear.
From a Lycoming to a Rotax And from a tail dragger to a trigear?
I get it that the Bearhawk didn't fit your mission, but why such a change?
Why not an RV-10 for example?
@@philipritson8821 When I visited Airventure 2023, I looked the RV-10's. Then I watched a video comparing the RV-10 to the Sling TSi. I never looked back after that. Ease of build, reliability and modernization of the Rotax, FADEC, fuel economy, Mogas, range, large cabin, and just plain looks damn good!
@@TheBaldPilot Maybe you should put this all in a video! I'm sure your audience would appreciate some insight into your decision process.
@@philipritson8821 Yes. I will definitely make that video in the future. Thanks for the suggestion.
Do you have a backup name for the channel if you suddenly start growing lots of hair? I am looking forward to your next project.
This hair ain't coming back!
I’ve been wondering what’s been going on in your world….
Hey Ron! Good hearing from you!
