Hazrat Saleh (AS) was a prophet sent by Allah to the people of Thamud, who lived in the northern part of Arabia. The Thamud people were known for their advanced civilization and incredible ability to carve homes out of mountains. Despite their wealth and knowledge, they strayed from the path of Allah and began worshipping idols.
Allah sent Hazrat Saleh (AS) with a message of monotheism, calling the people to worship the one true God. To prove his prophethood, Allah performed a miracle through him. A she-camel emerged from a rock, and it was a sign for the people of Thamud. Hazrat Saleh (AS) warned them to respect the she-camel and let her graze freely, but the disbelievers plotted against her and killed her.
As a significance of their disobedience and arrogance, the people of Thamud faced Allah's wrath. A terrible earthquake struck their land, and their grand civilization was destroyed. Only those who believed in Hazrat Saleh (AS) and his message were saved.
