Step 2: add sugar water and corn syrup to a medium sauce pan Step 3: stick in a candy/oil thermometer or you can stick in a meat thermometer every few seconds turn stove onto medium high heat Step 4: once sugar mixture reaches about 260-265F add food coloring if using. Do not mix the bubbling will mix it in for you. Step 5: cook the sugar mixture on medium high heat until it reaches exactly 300F immediately remove from heat and if using flavoring add to the sugar mixture DO NOT MIX the bubbling will mix it in for you.
