super tutorial!, I hope they continue making more videos like this where you can see in detail all the magic that can be done with this wonderful sound card and especially videos on how to work voices 😉! thank you!
Great video. I finally can record my Aux channels from Console into Logic. Something I have been trying to figure out forever.
Keep these coming! It would be useful to have a video on all plug-ins and many more basics.
These quick basics are a great go to and reminder as we all evolve set ups, gear and technique. As both a performer and producer I aim to match or get an even better sound in the cans than on stage without volume compromise or the dreaded clipping. The rich natural intimacy on low parts and yet not having to physically worry about or tame what comes out on a passionate vocal lift which ruins the performance in order to keep levels at unity gain. It wants to be big, open, full and loud from word go just, not exceeding the point where tone or intonation are sacrificed. Any reverb/echo/delay needs to support not swamp the narrative. So you need quick control. It needs to make you feel comfortably at home and you need choice when mixing everything later. This is a perfect way to help anyone achieve that goal, to easily copy or recall it later, without any of the effects getting baked in. 👍
Thanks, didnt know about the 7/8 channel for recording....
That trick of the copy and paste settings into ableton is INCREDIBLE
1000000% !!! Wow I had no idea ❤
Wonderful workflow 🤩 I’m seriously thinking of switching to UAD by beginning of 2023 🎉 question by the way : can I share an AUX channel between Mic input AND a virtual channel coming from my DAW? Example: applying thevsame reverb on Mic input & DAW playpack.
I’m thinking of quick punch workflow, I need the vocalist to hear the same effects on both : his previously recorded take (coming from DAW) + his direct Mic input during punching in, so both channels sound exactly the same. Hope I was able to explain my question clearly 😅 if you have a video explaining such workflow I would love to check it out. Thanks in advance!
Use this method that Drew shows. ruclips.net/video/y6CJm-0srx8/видео.html
@@UniversalAudio Thanks so much! What a smart method 👌
🥂
This is SUPER helpful! The output section of the Apollo has always seemed a bit elusive, and that secondary Present menu - way cool. It's awesome to print everything to track, including the AUX, and until seeing this, it wasn't intuitive for me. Q: It would be a real lifesaver to see a tutorial on routing 8 channels of ADAT through the Apollo to the DAW.
It's so simple!! Connect the ADAT device, the ins show up in Console automatically, default your I/O, and they'll show up in the DAW as well!! That's it!
Great video. More please explaining recording say a drum kit and using aux effects and cue mixes ✅
When are the ua interfaces going to be compatible with Monterey 12 on Apple
While our testing is ongoing, we're not seeing any show stoppers on Monterey. Back up your known working system and give it a try. If you must wait for official support, Keep an eye on this page: help.uaudio.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408846715796-UAD-Software-Compatibility-with-macOS-12-Monterey
i dont know how to thank you! My vocals sounds soooo good now, thank you very much!!!
You're welcome!
Will this work on Windows? Seems like the apollo interface is deeply mac integrated. Secondly, with all the processing power computers have these days. When will the switch to NATIVE be made?
Yes, Windows is supported. help.uaudio.com/hc/en-us/articles/215731443-Apollo-Thunderbolt-Windows-Compatibility. There are also USB versions of some devices that are PC only.
Thanks! I love to use Ocean Way Studios on Aux 1. Makes it sound like a world class studio while recording. I have been wondering for a long time how to get what I was hearing in the headphones 🎧 to the daw. Now I know. Lol
👍🏻
You guys should also make a quick vid on how to setup the ALT speakers. I think it would help a good chunk of people because I’ve seen plenty of questions regarding that feature.
noted, thanks.
I love these videos you put up and all but how about spending the time to updating consle to the latest macOS. Just saying!

Excellent video. Quick question. U have an Apollo Twin USB for my Windows PC. I do not see an I/O Matrix. How would I print the Insert effect (Capitol Reverb) to my DAW which is Pro Tools?
See the I/O table in the manual.
Thank you , @Matt
any way to monitor compressor but printing fx like c-vox, eq?
Did you find out the answer?
Been trying to figure out how to use the UAD plugins in my Daw.
Load them in the Insert slots.
Is it just me or does anyone else think their aux send sounds weird in the Console App?? Even if there is NO plugin on the aux channel. Just moving up the fader to 0 creates this very audible effect to the signal. I can find NO other information on this and the Auxes are basically useless if they are adding their own color or whatever to the audio signal by itself.
Is it possible to record the effects from the Apollo Twin X aux sends straight from the UA console into your DAW in my case LogicProX
Can we just commit to the UA aux send effects in one simple step?
Yes, you can record the Auxes in any DAW.
@@UniversalAudio the effects from the UA aux sends don’t seem to be printing to my Logic, I hear them while recording tho… can you send me specific video walking through that process, I haven’t found one yet
@@patterry730 You need to have an I/O Matrix loaded that contains the Auxes. Then in Logic, you need to select that corresponding input for the track.
@@patterry730 they literally went over this in the video
Hey, can someone please confirm that in a multi unit apollo system the dsp for the aux channels is always used from the designated monitor unit? Haven‘t found verified info from UAD on this. Best Regards
Correct, Aux channels are processed by the monitor unit's DSP.
Hello I have a question , Lets say I load an amp in my unison slot and I use An EQ in the insert slot then press the UAD record button to record these effect in my DAW. Can I just playback the track from my daw and tweak the settings again in my UAD console. Is it strictly only for recording and then you would have to insert the same effects inside the daw insert slots??
Hope this makes sense i'm very new to this.
Thank you already
it's for recording and monitoring. For DAW playback, use the inserts there.
@@UniversalAudio thanks that is clear now
👍🏻
@@UniversalAudio there is a huge hiss in my unit when I crank the volumes up. Also I am not using any plugins and there is only a guitar plugged in the hi-z instrument input is this normal?
🙏💯
Maybe spend some time updating to VST3 also! Thanks!
Very useful information though. Thanks.
I want MORE aux channels than just two. Anyone ?
