Omg hi!! So I just started the video but first I wanna say a few things. I just graduated my nursing program this past May and am now a new ICU nurse. I’m gonna tell you upfront, nursing school was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. But I promise you with my entire being it is so beyond worth it!! No matter how hard it gets, and with every roadblock you hit, please keep pushing forward. Remind yourself all the time how much you want this. It will be feel so slow and then boom all of a sudden you’re towards the end of the journey. I just love seeing new students. I remember the excitement of starting and I wish I had someone to talk to when I was a new student. Best of luck to you friend! It will be great!:) Sending calming vibes from upstate NY🤘🏻
Wow this was so sweet thank you! I'm only on week 2 and can tell its going to be a long and hard journey lol but I'm excited!! I'm also from NY, long island gal :)
@@LaurenDykstraheck yeah, be excited! It’s gonna be great. Also that’s so cool, my ex lived in Medford for a bit then Selden before moving back up here for work! So crazy!
Heyyyy upstate! Where at? I’m from Clifton park lol I just read this comment, I start nursing school January super nervous but excited for my new journey
I start Nursing school tomorrow! This comment was very encouraging. I’m literally going to screenshot and keep this comment. Thank you so much. And Lauren, thank you so much for bringing us along the journey with you.❤
I loved nursing school, but I felt that I was going to fail the whole time. You will do great. I graduated in 2016. Just remember that they are there to teach u not to fail you. Help them help u, help yourself, ask questions and study a ton. Nothing will go wrong tomorrow lol. U r amazing u got this also make sure u get a good group of friends to study with (pick the smartest ones) and you got this
i to was like nervous for nursing school i literally went all out for my first day and just the rest of the semester and when i tell you it wasnt what i had in mind but i was like hmmm okay imma just live in the now accept what i can and just try and enjoy myself
I find myself watching nursing videos just because I’m scare to start school, I’ve been a CNA for over 8yrs and I want to take the next step to LVN or LPN cause I don’t think I’m ready for the RN.. and just by watching this kind of video encouraged me to keep going. Wish you luck on your Journey 🖤
Wow thank you! I wish you all the best on your journey as well! I don't know much about LVN/LPN but I can answer any nursing school questions you might have:)
I'm in my second semester of a 15 month second degree nursing program too. So i wish you all of the luck! Can't wait to watch and go alone this journey with you!
I tried going into nursing right out of high school and 2 years in I had to drop out due to family issues. I’m 27 now and thinking about going back but I’m also feeling like I’m too old to go back at this point 😅I know I’m not old but it just feels like I’m behind in life
I'm beginning nursing in September and I am 25. I thought the same thing about being too old but the way I look at it, it's better to just do it now in my 20s than to avoid it because I think I'm "too old", and then going back and doing it anyway in my 30s or 40s!
New subscriber here ! I’m in NC too and starting my Nurse aid 1 in January and hopefully if I’m accepted I’ll start the nursing program in the fall! Best of luck to you. Look forward to watching these vids!
Honestly i want an opinion from someone who actually is taking nursing. So could you possibly give your opinion on the difficulties and things? Ive seen so much online about how horribly hard it is and im quite scared that i wouldnt be able to get through.
I totally get it! I thought the same thing before I started and now that im almost 2 months in, I can say its overwhelming at first but once you get your groove its definitely manageable! I think the most important factor that determines if someone can "make it through" is if they really want to become a nurse because if its something you REALLY want then you will find a way to make it through!! There is a lot of work, but its not incredibly hard!
@@LaurenDykstra That honestly makes me feel a lot better. Thank you so much! Hearing those things online made me pretty scared to say the least, but you having felt the same way and giving me some clearance soothed my nerves a lot. It shows that nerves are normal. Can I ask what kind of nursing you are pursing? I was thinking about perhaps pursing RN.

I start a general science program this fall and i'm applying for BSN this winter for a start date of Sep 2025 and i was wondering the same thing! I'm thinking a Samsung tablet and i've been trying to do research on note taking apps but havn't had much luck.
1000% recommend. Im a senior nursing student and have been an electronic since the beginning. I did start with the iPad Air but switched to the iPad Pro. GoodNotes is a great app to use for note-taking
The accelerated BSN is for those who already have a college degree, but want to pursue nursing. It’s mainly all your clinicals, and nursing classes since you already got the general courses out of the way. The 4 year track is the “normal” route.
@@TheJasminBestNope, there are some accelerated BSN programs that don’t require you to have a degree. As the other commenter said, it’s the same degree as a regular BSN, you just do it in 2 years instead of 4.
no usually just bio, chem, english and a math (calculus & vectors or advanced functions) that's the canadian rule, and some schools have different requirements. One of the programs I applied to didn't require any 4U math (grade 12 uni level), but did need 3U functions, and only required either bio or chem, not both - if you took both they took the highest mark for your admissions average. I took chem and families in grade 11, and then the rest of my 4U classes in grade 12. Also - make sure you check to see what your school requires for supplemental application. Not every school has one, and most of those that do are just the CASPer exam, but you need to make sure if they do that they're done ASAP because they can slip away really fast.

From what I understand, it’s the same. The accelerated program is just the 4 years jam packed Into 2 years. (Literal hell)
