You can get pneumatic 4/2 valves with the identical siamese ex port arrangement as the hydraulic 4-2 (e.g. SMC VH402-04). The differences you've outlined are the differences between a 4-2 and a 5-2 valve generally, regardless of the fluid involved.
A common term I usually run across in 5/2 directional valves is "4 way". Does that imply that only 4 of the ports are actually piped and the 5th is just exhaust?
Actually 2 ports are exhaust. Since they are both exhaust some say it is a 4 way and some say it is a 5 way. The advantage of calling it a 5 way is you know it is pneumatic. Either way 2 are exhaust one is pressure and 2 are actuator ports. Hope this helps
I’m having a problem with a pneumatic valve. extends but sometimes the exhaust doesn’t release the air or it won’t retract until I disconnect the air line then it works. I put new solenoid and valves. Thank you
solenoid is a device that moves a piston in and out typically with electromagnetism, like a motor, in this case the solenoid piston moves the directional control valve back and forth.
You are really gifted in teaching this clearly. Thank you so much.
You are so welcome
Brilliant! I don't think this could have been explained any better!
Thanks. That is great to hear.

Have you checked the muffler on the DCV? They can get clogged.
what's the difference between solenoid valve & directional control valve?
Thanks

Hi, can u help me with one exercise?
Superb sir
thanks
Great
Nice video
Thanks.
Thanks
👌💜
Super sir
thanks
Great!
Very helpful, thanks mate!
Cheers. Thanks for watching!
Why it's 4-3 or 5-3 directional valve? I think it's 5-2 or 4-2, I don't understand
