If you want to see and hear a true live performance of Bow River then you need to check out Cold Chisel Bow River live Ringside tour, this is after they have reformed. Yes they are much older but the performance is just incredible. Way better than this cut and paste version.
Absolutely and it’s a shame that this version is up as the official as it’s nowhere near as good as the Ringside version! That being said both are fire!
They absolutely blew it out of the water. Its funny I grew up on this version and when I saw they ga ve it another shot and saw their age I was sure they would ruin it. Then I gritted my teeth and listened. You are 100% right. That NEVER happens. The band 20 years later sounds BETTER. They pulled it off admirably
Jimmy who Doc??? 😂. Of course our Jimmy Barnes 👍 Have u seen Jimmy’s grandson dance whilst Jimmy’s playing guitar - Teddy’s the toddler has already got the Barnes rhythm in his veins 😊
Aaahh, Aussie pub rock. More please, the Angels, AC/DC w/ Bon Scott, Midnight Oil & many more. I was blessed growing up in Sydney in the 70's and 80's.
Welcome to Pub Rock - What we listened to live every friday/saturday night back in the 70s and 80s . I saw many bands live at local pubs and here in Australia if you couldn't play live we didn't want to know you. These guys learned their chops in dingy pubs, writing their own music, mainly from the keyboard player but all of them had a go at writing songs. Love them.
Chisel have two outstanding lead singers. This one is mostly Ian Moss and you already know Jimmy. Ian has some sick guitar skills too. Also, you were right the first time ... Bow as in "Bowtie" 👌
Try When the War is Over from the Ringside tour. Love Ian's voice, it has a very unique sound. And Jimmy Barnes is awesome & the rest of the guys. Bloody Aussie legends. Great reaction
As David said below, please do Bow River at the ringside, in 2003 I think, to see a truly phenomenal performance of this song. It's fire and just insanely good
♥️♥️ Jimmy and Ian 😍 check out Cold chisels; Bow river, Choir girl, water into wine, Khe Sanh, (I love Way Down also) And then Jimmy Barnes (lead singer) - Stone Cold, When something is wrong with my baby (with John Farnham), Driving Wheels
Thanks mate, Chisel's best songs are unofficial national anthems in Australia. Check out When The War Is Over, Flame Trees, Goodbye (Astrid, Goodbye), Shipping Steel, You Got Nothin I Want
Brad check out Darrell Braithwaite's "As the day goes by" it's fabulous!!! with 2 great singers on backing vocals (Ronnie Byrne and John Farnham) it will give you tingles mate!!!
Check out the harmonica player; simply brilliant. Australian Pub Rock delivered some of the best live bands of the 70's, 80's, and 90's; curse poker machines, may they burn in hell!👺
You Got Nothing I Want, was a big middle finger the the US music industry. When they tried to crack the US market in the 89’s they got screwed royally by a music company: poor recording quality and they got dicked around. So they never went back again. Chisel are the quintessential Aussie rock band. I’m still upset I never got to see them live before Steve Preswick passed away. The new drummer is Chrissy Amphlett’s husband. She told him to play with them, when she was dying
@@FordmanGTHO351 you are a decade too late it was in the early 80s that happened the song came out in 1982 - they had broken up by 1989 and jimmy was on his solo career by then
Ian Moss is as good a lead singer as you need, then they have Barnsey to take it over the top. Yes they went to America and were told to play their way, then came home and composed the song 'You got nothing I want you got nothing I need'
Wrong vid. This is a very ordinary compilation tape, should never have been released. Find the Cold Chisel, 2003 live performance, Hordern Pavilion. THAT one is a party!
@@sonnyblack6121 true dat. I've always - cause I've lived in both places - just lumped Australian and New Zealand bands together... But yes, you are correct.
How to out yourself as a complete muppet: 1) Claim Jimmy Barnes can't actually sing 2) Claim Dragon are Australian (they're a kiwi band) 3) Do it on the internet where everyone can point and laugh at you.
@@kane29842 well said Kane. I can assure you that if he was a “shrieker” his vocal cords wouldn’t have lasted past a year or two without suffering irreparable damage. Yet I have seen recent performances where he has used his upper register with flawless vibrato and scratch free falsetto.
Wow Arnold….dude !!!! You wouldn’t know good music from your arse. Hope your not an Aussie cause if you are you can just piss right off mate. 🙅♀️ Cold chisel is rock royalty in Oz.

I agree with the others . You MUST check out Cod Chisel's 'Ringside' tour delivery of 'Bow River' as it is superior and more engaging than this video.
Ahh Aussie pub rock. Luv Luv Luv it.🥰🥰🥰
+1 Brad. Just do it.
Loved this reaction! Welcome to the wonderful world of Australian music! (Always watch any Aussie artist live!)
Have fun down the rabbit hole mate
Oh man, this is my favourite band. This band are Aussie icons. Their song When The War Is Over is even better.
20-odd years later they performed this at a reunion concert called ringside. It makes this look like a rehearsal.
totally
thats the one .

Cold Chisel is in the DNA of most Australians of a certain age. If you want to know who the Australians are in a pub put on Khe San
Best band ever! Jimmy Barnes- the guy who sings at the end you’ve seen before. He is usually the lead vocalist in Cold Chisel. 🔥
Jimmy who Doc??? 😂. Of course our Jimmy Barnes 👍

Went to see Mossy in an acoustic concert last Friday night !!! Fantastic. This was his second last song. He is 69 years old last week on Wednesday 🎉🎉

70's & 80's the best time for Aussie music
You didn’t notice there were two clips rolled into one. No breath of fresh air been legends for over 40 yrs
And this isn't even the best live version of this on youtube 😂 Thanks for the reaction matey
Started blues, but smoothly changed to rhythm. Great vocals.
My youth spent every weekend following Cold Chisel around NSW watching them play Friday and Saturday nights. They were the best live band ever.
Now that is a real singer!
9:21 You are just awaking to Australian music. Good to see you have found us.
My fav Cold Chisel song, thank you for sharing.
Ian Moss is a legend here in Australia.
