- Today I touch a subject that more sensitive than a chipped tooth on a cold day. Are you an asset or a liability? From what it means to be a well rounded fighter to other skills you need to be an actual asset. #firearmstraining #stayprepared #prepared #alwaysprepared #homedefense #survivalfood #beprepared #preparedness #prepared #prepper #preparation #gunfighter #selfreliance #selfdefensetraining #wrol #teotwawki #shtf #minutemen #firearmsafety
You are putting out some quality content. Well done. I'm a retired OG ghetto cop from SoCal and former combat arms officer. The average cheeto eater has no idea what an actual shit hitting the fan incident feels and looks like. They don't know (thankfully) what fighting for a gun over the hood of a car is like. So many people need to take a good hard look at their lifestyle. Fitness is sooooo important.
Agreed fighting someone who means to end you if a different world. Even a lesser end being able to navigate a bad situation without getting wrecked
As someone that still lives in those areas in Socal, I agree
In my 20s & 30s I was kind of a bad ass, 25 years ago I was in the best shape of my life, a car accident & years of heavy lifting put me on disability. At 66 my back, a bad knee from a motorcycle crash, 2 shoulder surgeries, and a shattered hip (replaced), even exercising to my best ability my physical capabilities would make me a liability. Maybe consider a video for those of us that are older and will be defending the home & neighborhood ? ... also Thank You for all the quality content.
there is a plan for that soon!
Knife fights: that video of the Ukrainian and Russian going hand to hand is a perfect example of what happens with knife fight and hand to hand. They both got bloodied. They both fought with panic and despair in their voice. They both flailed around trying to remember their training. They showcased that even they weren't ready for that fight and that shines a huge spotlight onto what the largest majority of us are too soft and unprepared for.
Its eye opening to see that two people who probably have at least some training and have been in a war mindset for awhile still flail and look desperate in a knife fight, now imagine what the average american untrained and used to peace looks like
That was some of the scariest stuff I've ever seen in my life. Real hardcore stuff right there. itll light a fire under you for sure
Your pants didn’t shrink in the dryer killed me. Good shit as always Unc!
Thanks
Great topic, Keep It Up!!
Got my GoRuck MCV-2 in Friday. Getting ready to go fo a 30lb 5mi ruck today. Thanks for the pep talk. 🇺🇸👍🏽
The mental preparedness to do what it takes to survive is the most important factor. Thx for covering it near the end.
A lot of people who think they are "bad dudes" aren't even in shape or train. A lot of good info you gave.
Ready mind body and soul should be a never ending journey that your always practicing.
Another video that is spot on. I try to get some daily exercise, but it's a battle to get it done. Keep them coming!
Love this guy!
thanks
Strength and conditioning are fundamental elements of being an asset.
truth it would suck to die on the way to a hide site
I'd love to join a class of yours! I'll ride my motorcycle with weapons on my long back pack from WA to train for a week.
Good ta go
Good stuff
Thanks!
thank you
I make a really good grilled cheese sandwich. Can I join anyone’s team?
You will be my personal concubine. Don’t plan on a long career I will die of aids due to my other concubines
😂
Bring tomato soup and you can join. 😅🎉
Youre in my squad, doc
Your hired
Good shit brother. Keep up the realistic content.
Thanks it seems to be my wheelhouse
I love your videos
Excellent as usual. You mentioned a Discord channel, but I couldn’t find a link.
Well said! emotional control.
Great tips unc, thanks!
Glad it was helpful, stay safe out there!
As much as I could say all videos have something to debate. This video is 💯 right imo.
I need to go to a gym and definitely need to start practicing my martial arts again.
I also need to take survival and hunting courses.
Great advice. Best regards.
Appreciate that, stay safe
Just found you chanel recently. I really enjoy your videos.
Thanks, I appreciate it. Hope you keep watching!
Thanks for ruining my first bag of Cheetos in two years, haha. They got expensive.
😂😂 Sorry man but everything in moderation. Teddy Grahams are my weakness
Today, I just learned our local gun club has 4- 2hr defensive handgun and rifle training courses each week for $100 (8hrs total). 4 trainees per class! That's better than the 1 day Saturday or Sunday course with 10 people and waiting most of the time.
Dang I wish we had one here that cheap. Where are you at?
@neilfloyd1263 Custer WA
I was hoping you were in kentucky 😂
That's a newer trend in training short duration classes with a lower headcount. It seems to do well and I've done a few and had great feedback
No. I can't afford to be well regulated! My mission is to leave my home, go to the store, & get back safely! I don't need to know how to larp GIJOE in the desert!
Just curious if you train BJJ, MMA, Muay Thai anything like that. I’ve been doing BJJ for about 7 months and it’s a blast. Love your content man🤙🏻
Not BJJ now Krav and boxing yes just not a BJJ gym that works in my schedule
A youngster knows about the PR-24?! Good talk. Thank you.
I can tell you about the Police Nunchucks too!
Rifles, shotguns, handguns, bow/crossbows, emergency medical care and woodsmanship. Trained, tested and tried. Now I teach. I might be able to get it done. I think 😉
I'm somewhat aged and if I can cover patriots advances to the rear and allow them to be victors over our enemy, because I'm sapping some of enemies energy, I'll be an expendable asset 🎅🤠🙏 God bless you Sir and us all, everyone keep yer powder dry,see you in Heaven 🎅🤠🙏
I thought well-rounded was teaching my daughters to Can, weld, and shoot long-range. 😂
Given my age I'm really a minute but a 5 minute man. While I may not be in an offensive capacity, I can load magazines and stand watch.
I can make a decent margarita. 🤷♂️
@@Sarcasmarkus hired!
In Florida we have canceled WEAPONS license. WOOOOOO
They got rid of it? That's awesome as far as an impact weapon I would still check though they are just looked at differently
Yep! We're very fortunate to have Uncle DeSantis here in Florida. Geez, can you imagine if newscum was our guy.
Floridian here. From what I understand, we have permitless carry for handguns. But this does not cover other concealed weapons such as batons and knives that are classified as weapons. This is why I still maintain a ccw license.
@@yeolsaltyswordsmen8238 Floridian here, too ! CCW is an asset in the courtroom too if it ever got to that point :)
@@ChemonV69 asset in the courtroom? EVERYTHING will be used against you in a court of law.
Yes i am.
I am old hurt up and have a few illnesses.
But i have land and some knowledge of the old ways from people that lived that life. And i know the how and whys.
Some medical basics.
But like i have said i don't plan on living through a real shtf with no return to the rule of law.
My plan is trying to teach the next gen. How and why toget them through it.
It’s a marathon and not a sprint, fellas. Everyone is at a different stage in life, and no one is going to be an expert at everything that could conceivably be useful in a bad situation. Should you have passable skills with the really important stuff? Yes, but Rome wasn’t built in a day. Gather the information, gear, etc., a little bit at a time, and focus on what makes the most sense in your circumstances. Not everyone can be a door-kicking SOCOM guy, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be good at *something.* Maybe you really like amateur radio, or emergency medicine, MMA, or whatever else-you’ll be the “expert” in your neighborhood/group for those kinds of problems. Don’t neglect your mental resilience/health, and never stop learning and honing your skills-whatever that looks like for you. 👍
I'm 165lbs, bench 250, squat 265, deadlift 325, can run a mile in under 8 minutes, avid backpacker and camper, like to do bushcraft, prepper so I've got a reasonable stockpile, and I've got a decent enough rifle with combat gear including a pvs14. I'd make a pretty good teammate.
Good vid✌️🪖🇺🇸
OK, say this from the perspective that my Mrs is an MD and I help run the practice. Go see your PCP, or get one if you don't have one, and get your annual physical. Get your blood work done. Get your cancer screenings done. Get all that stuff done. And if your PCP doesn't do that stuff, go get a real Dr. who will. We see it nearly every stinking day of the week, some guy comes in who looks reasonably fit and health, that we find something pretty bad wrong with him that could be debilitating if left untreated for an extended period. Especially if you're age 40-45, get that colon cancer screening. There's a blood test now, you don't even have to dook in the cup. We've seen it where by the time someone shows up with symptoms, they're basically waiting on the reaper to show up. Dudes, I know. I'm right there with you. I know what you're thinking. "But I feel fine." You can feel just fine and still be sick with something bad. Go get yourself checked out.
This is pin worthy. Read it and live it fam.
Brother your wife is a doctor of course you've gotten the help you needed whenever you did. That's not realistic for most people. At least most people I know in Florida I can't speak for everyone else.
@@ticket2space Like I said, if your Dr isn't doing these things for you, ditch them and go find a real doctor. anyone who isn't doing these things is just drawing a paycheck.
Honestly you do not even want to use resistance band or the gym to get started. You want to focus on calisthenics that utilize your own body weight. You do not need to spend any money to get in better shape. Get some sun, 10-15 minutes on each side front and back for balancing your tan as well as getting that vitamin D. Start walking inside your house like doing laps around your kitchen island or walking up and down the steps if you have multiple floors. Do pushups, steam engines, squats, hello Dolly's, leg raises, planking, crunches etc. Movement is critical and for your heart try to work up to 30 minutes a day and hold that for some time until it becomes easy then incrementally add small increments of time to expand your workout and increase the time you have an increased heart rate. I guarantee you are eating too much and very likely eating the wrong food. Cut your portions and be more selective of what you put in your body. Keep moving. Keep training. Familiarize yourself with your equipment and how it works and discover its limitations. Stay alert. Stay alive. Stay aware of what fits and be cognizant of what doesn't. Improve efficiency, effectiveness and learn to conserve energy and manage your resources.
I fully agree in a knife fight everyone's getting cut. But my question is, and it IS an honest one, not snarky, do people get in knife on knife fights? I guess i can imagine a situation where one dude pulls a knife, so the other pulls his and is like "Come on then bro!" But, is that the most common kind of thing with knife fights? I would imagine it'd be either a sudden, mostly unexpected attack, or a fist fight or argument turned into one guy with a knife suddenly poking holes in someone
It happens all the time on netflix.
🦍
There are a lot of ways to be useful.
Guys need patched up. comm’s need to be established, trucks need to run, caches need to be built, intell needs to be gathered, intell needs to be passed on, guys need safe places to eat beans and sleep
Back in the day we were taught it takes 9-15 part time partisans to keep one guy in the field full time
Man… all this talk about being an asset and no mention of basic medical, getting and learning how to use a CAT TQ, makes me want to cry into the bag of Funyuns that I am currently not eating.
Also, for the knife nerds, there is a wonderful series on RUclips, it’s a martial arts competition staged kind of like reality TV, and one of the contests is “surviving” an enclosed space with a guy using a magic marker as a stand-in for the knife and the fail rate is nothing short of spectacular. If I can find it I’ll post a link as a reply.
Update: found it. They repeat a similar challenge with Season 2 of that show, and the entire second season has some very interesting scenarios.

Awesome 1 😂😂😂😂
Bro when you said "time out, car" I just flashed back so hard!! Tell me your age without saying your age. BTW it's time for us to take our evening meds.
Just took mine lol
You don’t need long range.. a .22lr is very similar to a 308 at range.. all you need is 2-300 yards with a 22 and you’ll know the same holds and scope adjustments as a 308 at long ranges.. 200uards with a sub sonic 22 matches 308 at it’s either 800 or 1000.. can’t remember which off the top of my head right now.. 60” of drop and the windage is also actually very similar..
60 inches of drop is a 175gr m118lr from a 22-24 barrel at 500 yards. I agree with your sentiment and I always advocate for 22 trainers 300 and in. There is zero that will replace really shooting your gun at range
I feel like i wouldnt be a liability. Not only can i run a variety of firearms effectively, but i can make ammo from scratch. I make my own powder and projectiles, and can reload primers. I also know all of my hold overs with 556 and 308 with their respective common grain weights. I can make some VERY accurate ammo too.
That would make you an asset my friend
was with ya until you brought up the knives lol I got plenty of videos on my playlist of modern day duels. and no both dudes dont always get cut thats like saying in a gun fight both are going to get shot lol. If your the superior fencer, you can win without getting hit.
You and Richard Marcinko are the only 2 people I've heard say that about knife fights: Everyone is getting cut. Thanks for saying that. This ain't the movies and 1 hit kills are video game b.s. Knife fights suck softboiled @$$.
I really don’t have access to longer than 100 yards living in Honolulu on Oahu
Hell yall barely have guns which is sad
Notbing feels as cool as underhand charging an ak 😂😂
I can agree
2:15 I say it now, i am not
If you get a baton and can afford it get a bonowi camlock
This is the dangerous end, right?
*Are you!?!*
If you didn’t go to ranger school don’t talk to me lol
Okay.... I'm sure you meant this to be way more badass and edgy than it came out. I've said this a lot on my channel. I care very, very, very, little about what you did once before or how cool you used to be. I used to be way cooler 20 years ago too. I care about progress and constant learning and practice not that once upon a time there was a school or event. If it's not happening right now in this moment, it doesn't matter
@@unclefreedom213 I meant it to be a joke but unfortunately I’m not that funny. You are talking about the most difficult situations a human being can go through so of course you need a wide range of attributes to survive. Much less thrive. I wouldn’t have watched any of your videos if I didn’t want to learn. You cover a lot of good points that help point people in a good direction. Appreciate you helping folks even when the non intelligent want to leave comments like myself.
@michaelgrayman7614 no worries my friend I catch a lot of hate lol. I'm just glad this stuff is making people think
