Because it was a good tune to begin with? I once frequently visited a friend who often played a Metallica instrumental song (Call of Ktulhu or Orion perhaps) on 33 rpm ever since he bought that LP. He'd never heard the "real" version, and had always considered it a 33', although his print was supposed to be played at '45. (As was actually stated on the label! XD )
Only later did I discover, that its "normal" pace was much faster. We both laughed a lot about that when we found out and had it confirmed.
Point was: The "slow" version, (which we both now had grown used to) still sounded better in our ears. Much "heavier" than the original "light paced" version XD
Because a deceptively simple track built around repeating the same 7 notes over and over actually has a lot going on harmonically and production-wise below the surface. Slowing it down really lets your ear dial in and appreciate what you might otherwise miss.
It was 2 years that i was looking for pjanoo slow. I swear i love you and this song 😍
