Sometimes I wonder if Kiritsugu was just as muscular under his trench coat.
He was probably muscular/toned, but definitely not as big as Kirei. Kirei no differ Kiri in hand to hand and given Kiritsugu's special skill of *coughs* guns and explosives, I doubt he ever truly honed his physical attributes.
If remember the lore, Kirei went through an intense training when he was a child.
Kirei is a martial artist specializing in bajiquan, where the goal is to land a single strike that can instantly kill the enemy
Kirei is a bit more slim in Zero.
Kerry is probably not as built as Kirei, he must have more of a soldier physique

In the VN this fight was a lot more one-sided, with Kirei beating Shirou up almost to the verge of death. Which does make a lot more sense, considering the vast gap between their hand-to-hand combat prowess. Not going complain about the movie giving my boy Shirou some boost, of course :D
But I think it make sense kirei’s heart is crashed while the fight so he got tons of Nerf

@@JuurokuyaIzayoi Ah, but Shirou is barely clinging onto his life as well at this point. After using Archer’s arm multiple times to cast projection magic (God Hand, Zelretch’s dagger, Rho Aias, etc) Shirou had both physically and mentally deteriorated so much that he is barely functioning as a human at the time of this fight. You know how Kirei keeps saying that time is short for both of them? It’s because they’re both about to die. So you could say that the fight is more or less fair in the regard of the combatants’ condition.

It was also a huge Kirei nerf, which I suppose attributes to Dark Sakura screwing up Kirei's insides. If he could even use a fraction of the magic he had been able to use in Zero, Shirou would have no chance.
No this is more of a Kirei nerf.
In the VN he’s strong enough to send shirou flying into the air with a single kick. If anything this makes shirou look less impressive than in the VN because he’s only fighting a slightly buff dude rather than a nerfed superhuman.

Did Kirei get weaker in UBW? In Fate Zero his speed and strength was on a whole other level, even 1 punch from him could kill. Also did he lose his Black Keys?
If I remember correctly he was cursed by sakura
So at this point he was a dead man walking
He is canonically at his peak in Fate/Zero compared to Stay Night, yes
both, shirou and kirei were half death, to not say corpse walking
This fight is basically a battle against time, in the end it all came down to who could last longer, between Kirei whose heart was cursed/crushed by Dark Sakura, and Shirou whose body was breaking apart into swords
In this moment, he's basically a corpse
MAN FIGHT! Honestly, I don't care what the VN purists say (no hate to you though). This battle is fucking awesome. A great battle to end the main story.

I know most people feel confused about the scene of Zouken's memory before death. Zouken Matou (Makiri Zolgen) was born on about 15 or 16th century in Russia. When the grail system founded, he was 200 years old. 7:18 was him.
I'm confused because of how weird the movie is. Why did he fell into a random, conveniently placed pool of lava, in reality it was Sakura that killed him, they cut out so much of Sakura's character by changing that. Also they removed (as far as I can remember) the line from Shirou saying that he tried to antagonize Kirei at every point to hide the fact that he thought he was exactly the same as him and may come to like him.
