  • If you are going to make this year of something, make it a year of righteousness. Make it a year that you live in righteousness because you've been made right with God. You cannot change yourself! I'm not trying to live right, I have been made right. If you get off of this foundation of righteousness you lose your identity.
Dan Mohler preaching at his home church Harvest Chapel in Abbottstown, PA. Sunday, January 1, 2023. (Sunday morning service). Awesome preaching on Righteousness of GOD which is so crucial!

I'm so happy to know the wrath of God in the Bible is not His wrath against His sinner children.....but His wrath is against sin that is destroying His precious children. He is a consuming fire where ever sin is
He is the unquenchable fire in the gospels.

1:07:09 until the end,(actually all of it is so powerful) is such a good word! But from here, till the end, Brother Dan gives great practical/helpful examples how we can seeing ourselves rightly in the sight of God(and that changes us, without working hard), using the word(2Peter 1:1-9)...AND he also explains how a person experiencing condemnation, shame and guilt(feeling bad) reveals that person is actually alive inside, and there is something really good working in them...BUT how they may be processing the conviction(s) the wrong way is causing them to think evil/bad of themselves vs. through the righteousness of God, keeping them in a cycle of shame and ungodly guilt/regret/condemnation...causing them to hide, from God, like Adam and Eve did, in the garden. So good!

When this message is brought before believers- my personal experience has been many see it that those who bring such a message are the legalistic ones within the faith who have fallen from Grace, and then they use these lines brother Dan mentions to come against the Word- No one is perfect, we will always sin until we die, and they erase the power of Grace/who is the person of Holy Spirit, to empower them to walk holy as God is holy, and essentially make death their saviour who frees them from sin, instead of Christ crucified to restore our lost identity back to oneness with our Father...They walk with a form of godliness and deny the power thereof, because this power, or revelation of it shall I say, is the power of the cross that frees us from all unrighteousness, cleansing us as brother Dan mentioned...For it is by Grace/Person of Holy Spirit, we are saved through faith...Grace empowers us to live supernaturally, a life of holy living we could have never walked apart from him, and none of us can boast of ourselves when we see this power of God in our lives by way of his Grace, for God gets all the glory...
So there seems to be two sides of the same coin that persecute true Christians within the faith...Those who preach the law, but teach we can never be/walk holy until we die, and also those who say the law is dead/done away with, as if Grace is a permission slip to stay the same because they have confessed Jesus and accepted him into their heart thus "cleansed", yet their life lived does not speak of holiness- however, they seem to be loving people where the other group mentioned are not so loving-perhaps it's because they generally do not have much knowledge or teaching in the Word...
Our family has encountered both sides- first, a Baptist church that would recite the laws every Sunday, but taught none could keep the Law and walk holy, this erasing the power of Grace/Person of Holy Spirit in their lives-they were also not very loving...
So we went to another church, where the people seemed to be a breath of fresh air, and very loving, however likewise taught none can walk in righteousness, according to the law, and this is why the law was done away with and Christ came...Now, we only need to walk in love/be kind to people, seemed to be their motto, and understand no one is perfect nor can walk in perfection or be holy until we die- but as long as you confess Christ as saviour, your good- but never taught the Word, just inspirational messages to live a better life...
Both parties put you back under the law/under instruction in righteousness, keeping you bound to sin and thus have perverted the message of the gospel...One acknowledging the law, but claiming you could never keep it, and the other disregarding the law, teaching it has been done away with, so just love like Jesus cause your confession in Christ is sufficient, cause you can also not keep the Law, thus not understanding somehow JESUS IS THE WORD MANIFESTED BEFORE THE WORLD-as.if Jesus is different than the things contained within the Law, and that is just not true...
Under the Law, we are under instruction in righteousness, as if the Law is our school master teaching us right from wrong, as the Spirit of God dwells WITH us...But when we are no longer under the Law, but one with it, it is the Spirit of God IN us who produces holy living in our lives, having become one with the law, and no longer under it-for when we walk by the Spirit, we will not fulfil the lust of our flesh, because his laws are now written in our heart, and if we love him, we keep his commandments...
There comes a point where we are no longer UNDER the law, receiving instruction in righteousness and practicing walking in it...For the Law becomes fulfilled in our lives by living by his Spirit, who teaches us and guides us in all truth, no longer practicing walking in righteousness where we may stumble here and there being under the law, but by becoming one with the Law/God's ways/God truth where holiness is automatically produced, and not by our power, but by his Spirit, who is the Grace of God given to every believer ..

Scripture teaches no one can keep the law.
Sinless perfection is not in scripture.

@@dfischer5878 Does the Word of God not say Jesus is holy, harmless, and undefiled in Hebrews 7:26? Does it also not say in 1 Peter 1:19 that Jesus is without spot and without blemish? Does the Word not say in 1 John 4:4 that Greater is he who is in me? And how about sin now has no more dominion/ power over me in Romans 6:14?-and reckon/consider yourselves dead to sin and alive unto God in Romans 6:11? - And we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength in Phillipians 4:13?-That it is by Grace we are saved through faith in Ephesians 2:8? Sealed with that holy spirit of promise after we believed according to Ephesians 1:13- the earnest/security for the rest, of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession in Ephesians 1:14?
When we understand Grace is the person of Holy Spirit, given to every believer, as our free gift that we did not earn, nor deserve, who teaches us and guides us in all truth as he empowers us to walk out supernaturally what we could never do in our own power- Then we understand the power of the cross, and how sin has no more power over us, for the Word says when we walk by his Spirit, we will not fulfil the lust of the flesh...so while I agree, as does the Word, hat we could never walk apart from sin in our own power, the Word teaches we can do it by his Spirit if his Spirit lives in us, for it is no longer us who lives, but Christ who lives in us in Galations 2:20...

Christ said Follow me, and be holy for I am Holy- so while we could never do this in our own effort, Christ has made it possible by way of his Holy Spirit to follow him through his Works at the Cross...❤️

Christ made us possible for sin to no longer bind the believer; however you discount all the verses that talk about remaining sin . We are not perfected till glory.
It’s the righteousness of Christ that covers us it is not our own. We grow in sanctification yes! But we will not reach sinless perfection this side of glory. None of those verses you referenced even imply that. Scripture rightly divided interprets itself. All of scripture must line up .

@@dfischer5878 it is the thinking (common among the church sadly) you shared above that has perverted the message of the truth-erasing the power of the cross in the life of the believer-having made death our saviour to free us from sin, instead of Christ crucified...As Jude said, we need to earnestly contend for the faith we once knew-for certain men of old have crept in unawares, and have turned the Grace of God into lasciviouness/perverting the Truth...seek truth, and you will find it...
