14:1 compression and 0W-8 oil, imagine going back in time and dazzling a 1953 auto trades class with the technical highlights of this Toyota. It would be mind bending.
Saw it in Japan in April, it's a great looking sedan. Love your car reviews, Sarah - nobody else is gonna lift it up, go over in depth and measure the sway-bar like you! You have all the know-how of someone who rebuilds cars and make it fun, keep up the great content, thanks!
I am old enough to remember the "glory" days of the Crown in Australia & the reasons why they were well received. In spite of all the tech on this version I suspect there are some older Toyota engineers who must love how close this is to the original models & how the market segment has not changed!
Great review, Sarah. It's really cool to see the Crown name come back to the US. I also appreciate your love of animals, in pointing out the horned toad you found out in the desert. As always, keep up the great work.
Suggestion: When you give it the beans (from a dead stop) mention when the vehicle reaches 60mph so us viewers (ie peeps) can time it. Or perhaps you could put this 0-60 time in the video.. Just a thought, keep up the amazing work Sarah!
Your car reviews are unique and informative as well as entertaining and cheery. A car person will have a better day after watching one of your reviews.
The previous generation Crown in Japan had multiple variations: 1. Base model (V6) 2. Crown Athlete (V6) 3. Crown Hybrid (V6) 4. Crown Majesta (V8) And the Crown Majesta has four sub-variants!
Hello eco girl, you are always worth 100%! Thank you for testing a sedan... even a quasi lifted sedan! Too bad we don't get the full range of Crown models like in the domestic Japanese market. Really 12th artemis for the score ! must have been really hard. Great review like always.
No, nor would I care if they did. I feel 99% of journalists over inflate their numbers when they give scores and it ruins the appeal of a truly high number.
I have the platinum one with 400 lb*ft of tq / 340 hp. I love it. Unfortunately someone failed to yield and I had a green and my car is now likely totaled, after only having it for three weeks! 😭 I miss it, best car I ever owned.
Sarah, I’m always impressed when you tell us all the tech data. I’m not sure if you’re reading it or not (and that doesn’t matter) it’s just so fluid and precise. ❤ Mrs Mario Outfit btw.
Dad had a crown like the old one shown. His was a 1970, I think. I remember as a youngster thinking that it was pretty upper-end compared to most Japanese cars.
Another nice piece of engineering from Toyota. A hud system would be nice. I feel bad for your yellow finger pointy thingy...I hope it feels better. My company uses thinner oil on the Ford engines......oil change around 2000k...........we get 500,000k out of the engines that way. Sarah....the colour red so suits you.
I've had a '24 Platinum for about two weeks and I love it. With the extra HP it has plenty of beans but delivers them without a lot of noise. It's the first car I've ever had that at highway speed you can hear the ac blowing and that's about it. Not as fuel efficient as the Limited but a great car.
Finally a Toyota sedan that doesn't look like a boring box! Thanks for the great review as always Sarah 😍 ps: it'd be a great addition if you'd test acceleration and breaking with a tool
Sarah i. I paused it on the front suspension. The sway bar and the way it contours around the awesome lower strut , spring coil combo. And the wheels clean cool and duct air to the calipers. Ah, Magnifique’. .👌
Back in the late seventies my friend got a crown, think it was a sixtynine bout the size of a four door Nova or falcon but with overhead Cam six dual carbs, split exhaust manifold for True dual exhaust, Best of All a four on the floor. We had a Lot of fun with that...looked a lot like the at the beginning of the video 👍
I recently parked next to a 10th gen Hardtop Toyota Crown that someone obviously imported. From a distance I thought it was an LS400 until I got closer. Pretty cool to see out in the wild.
Stationed in Okinawa and mainland Japan, the Crown (family of cars) was an everyday sighting. Cop cars, taxis, even US Government sedans were usually Crowns, and the newer body styles popular for VIP customs, or 'Bippo". I was really concerned about this new one, having only ever seen the strange looking 2-Tone until now, but this Monochromatic version is not bad! Thanks for putting your all into another review, Sarah!
I still remember my dad coming home with the Toyota Crown in early 1980. I believe it was the 2.8 liter engine. Yah, The Netherlands, and I like the styling of the commuter bubble, not the pricing, but ok....
I don't get it they shaped it like a hatchback, lifted it like an SUV but then gave it a sedan trunk, so it's large cargo capacity is as unusable as possible. I'm a bit confused by that part, when premium brands have been doing liftbacks that look like sedans for decades now.
27th view properly early for once. Not bad 23:32 here nice. Love an all wheel drive even if it’s electric. Needing to scratch my hot hatch itch! Car review is keeping it in check for now.
hey i like your outfit it is cute just like you ,plus your energy is very spunky. the odd things you randomly say are cute and funny. by the way where are the pinguins those guys are cute and quirky. keep up the awesome videos.
Happy Humpday Sarah!! They actually re paved that road?! It was super bumpy the last time I took my car out there. Great review as per usual. Stay excellent!!!😎
USA would drool 🤤 over the JDM S150,S170, S210 & S220. The 150 & 170 has an Athlete version with 2.5L 1JZ-GTE ETCS-i (280hp stock). You could mod them to 400hp with bolt ons.
To no surprise the best review I have seen on this car - much more in-depth than a certian Doug did it... Also; been away from youtube for some days now - my oh my, was I missing my daily dose of Sarah-content... also-also - I think you enjoy saying "squid-score" as much as I enjoy hearing you say it!😅 Thank you for what you do and Stay Awesome!
Sarah's "Not bad." is a secret message which translates to slow AF acceleration in this case. Sarah, secret message received. Tango Yankee. Wrench onward.
I think Toyota has made the ultimate "daily driver" 40 MPG, Room for 5 and their stuff, $40-50k, which is the average price of a new car, quietly luxurious and easy to use, and built by Toyota. It even gives you an elevated seating position.
Ill keep my Ecoboost 6 speed Mustang as a cool daily driver, but this is a really cool super sized prius for sure. I will never understand why tbe Prius gets so much hate, its the perfect car for non car people:) and now you can get one in a full size package.....😊
New toyotas and "luxury" is opposite! Suspension is sheet - especially compare to germans or volvo. Interior boring and cheap- no different color styles combinates, no natural materials- cheap "eco". Noise isolation is average, no acoustic glass etc. Worse than mazda, and much worse than bmw, volvo, audi, mersedes.
Hey Sarah, definitely an interesting car and great review as always I never knew the crown was available in the US. I knew they had a top-of-the-line car back in the 80s called the Cressida. Don’t know if that was another name for the crown or it’s just another model. hoping you’ll get the manual supra soon I’m sure you are too. Hopefully one will come your way. Have a great one.🐧🐧🐧👍
The Cressida was (slightly) smaller than the Crown, but it did replace the Crown in the US. At the time, the Crown was actually a body-on-frame car, the Cressida was a unibody

GREAT LOOKING SEDAN! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

That headlight shot when the car was going up the lift 👍
I noticed that, too. Sarah's quite the videographer!
I noticed that too. It's little things like that (and her humor) that make these enjoyable to watch.
^ Came here to say this
Great review, Sarah. It's really cool to see the Crown name come back to the US. I also appreciate your love of animals, in pointing out the horned toad you found out in the desert. As always, keep up the great work.
Sarah, we need a compilation video of all your braking tests, now that would be fun to watch ;)
同意します❣️びっくりした時の顔からの笑顔が最高ですね。
Indeed

Just because a vehicle "has beans" doesn't mean it HAS MUCH ELSE!
"I'm dressed like Mario, aren't I?" LOL... Love the randomness Sarah. I can never anticipate anything ya ever say, but always appreciate the laughs.
Love the outfit
Your car reviews are unique and informative as well as entertaining and cheery. A car person will have a better day after watching one of your reviews.
I'm still adjusting to the new normal as far as new car pricing. I'll get over it at some point. Nice Review!
So glad you did this review. Where Doug called it a "weird decision" and an "SUV-ish sedan", you got into the mechanicals of it, as you do.
Fun fact: "Camry" means crown so we've actually had a Toyota Crown in North America all along.
Lol, no way that’s wild!
@@SarahnTuned Kanmuri is Japanese for crown
Clever sneaking it in the back way 😎
Toyota has more crown derivatives than Olds had cutlasses back in the day
The previous generation Crown in Japan had multiple variations:
1. Base model (V6)
2. Crown Athlete (V6)
3. Crown Hybrid (V6)
4. Crown Majesta (V8)
And the Crown Majesta has four sub-variants!
@SarahnTuned Actually Corolla is Latin for little crown. Avalon is the final resting place for King Arthur. Kiichiro Toyoda had a thing for crowns.
😍I always enjoy your akward and silliness in your videos😍 youre doing a great job keeping people engaged :)
Hello eco girl, you are always worth 100%! Thank you for testing a sedan... even a quasi lifted sedan! Too bad we don't get the full range of Crown models like in the domestic Japanese market. Really 12th artemis for the score !
must have been really hard. Great review like always.
Great and honest review. Question - do the auto manufacturers ever complain when the scores you give are not as high as they think they sound be?
No, nor would I care if they did. I feel 99% of journalists over inflate their numbers when they give scores and it ruins the appeal of a truly high number.
I'd get obsessed with the "eco" gauge and hope that one can turn it off or to another setting. Great review Mario!
I always like how mother nature sends some friends to appear in your videos.
I have the platinum one with 400 lb*ft of tq / 340 hp. I love it. Unfortunately someone failed to yield and I had a green and my car is now likely totaled, after only having it for three weeks! 😭 I miss it, best car I ever owned.
Sad!
Was that the white one? And now waiting for a new Crown?
Im happy brands are bringing their domestic products into the mainland….can’t wait for more
I STILL PREFER OLDER "mainland" VEHICLES to ASIAN "toys"!
"For the first time in half a Century" at 0:20 was a solid big Toyota pun straight outta the gate.
I really don't think it was intended though 😊
Its really been just about exactly 50 yrs since the Crown was available in the US!
Unintentional puns still count! They're better, in a way.
Sarah, I’m always impressed when you tell us all the tech data.

My '19 mazda 3 has a floor vin like that too. Thanks Sarah and algo's
0W-8 motor oil? Isn't that just water with a little vegetable oil mixed in?
Love your videos, Sarah, especially when you bring out the foam finger.
Another nice piece of engineering from Toyota. A hud system would be nice. I feel bad for your yellow finger pointy thingy...I hope it feels better. My company uses thinner oil on the Ford engines......oil change around

03:38 I'm glad you went back to the yellow pointy-finger, Sarah. It's so much easier to see against dark backgrounds than the red one. 👆☺
96. Great score Sarah !!!! The best part was when the screen said 12 th attempt :0. That’s hilarious. :)
Another excellent review and whatever color lipstick Sarah is wearing is 🔥
my first car was a 1971 toyota crown , when i lived in Australia!
Finally a Toyota sedan that doesn't look like a boring box! Thanks for the great review as always Sarah 😍

That's not nice calling Angel Foodcake a tool. 😂
Yes, who are you suggesting for the tool ? 😂 Or are you volunteering ?
Which album? I’m a bit partial to Ænima myself.
@@ramblerdave1339 I'd gladly volunteer if I was closer.

I'm happy Sarah is reviewing cars instead of Mini-Vans.
I sure mis my father's 91 Cressida. ...that was a nice car, father worked for the forklift division of Toyota, that was his company car.

I don't know over in Japan the Crown line was very coveted. .....I guess sales will be the final say if this ver of the Crown stays...
Excellent review and video. I really hope you will get to test drive the Crown sport one day. Keep our fingers crossed.
Thanks Sarah, you have got to be the hardest working U-tuber, we hope you are taking care of yourself. Central California watching
I love your tattoo! I know, not car related, but it's really pretty and very cool. im getting my second, and first big tattoo, in a few days :)
The "B" mode on the gearlever should give you more regenerative braking.
Might get you that coveted 100% score.
Nice review Sarah. I really like how Toyota does things.
Great job Mario! Props for mentioning Gran Turismo!
just gotta luv it when you do the "sound test "
for E cars . But , they do sound like something tho'.
whoops ! hybrid , nice , like 'em .
I will miss my Avalon’s but this is a replacement of our time.
Sara, You are Amazing ! Car evaluations, restorations, and custom builds. I love it all. Please do a Jeep !

excellent review. Like Top Gear, i watch even if I'm not interested in the car in question. that's entertainment!
Cool car 🚗 😎
We don't get it here in the UK 😅😅
So its a RAV4 in a different body? Same drivetrain and technology. Great reviews, love your work.

So, it's basically a super-sized, AWD, somewhat contemporary looking prius.
Cool!
The EV coach on the Ford Maverick Hybrid is certainly a lot easier to obtain 100% in regen braking!

Also? 0W-8 weight?

Usually used in stop start technology, also the W stands for Winter, not weight.
NASCAR has been using 0W 8 oil in their cars for like a decade.

This model needs a TRD version... and a lift kit to make it Baja ready 🤪
