@Jd Wilmoth It was most definitely intentional, Stinkin Linkin is a saboteur and sabotaged not only Spence's Heisman but also OU natty, the whole season ended in disaster and at 9-0 he had no desires to go-to the CFP, he was trying his darndest to end the season as quick as he could so he could make it out to USC in time for early signing period, the tell tale sign will be watching to see how successful of a season that Spence has this year, if he's super successful it'll expose Stinkin Linkin for the fraud that he really is.
@Jd Wilmoth the difference was Baker, Kyler and Jalen all were strong runners and were able to take pressure off their own throwing game when necessary. Lincoln should have used Kennedy Brooks to help Spencer when teams were using man coverage or blitzing. From the opener against Tulane Riley refused to rely on the running game. The exception being the second half vs Texas when Caleb William's got all the credit for the win despite KB having 216 yards rushing. It is much easier for a QB to have success when the running game is working. Honestly other than that game Caleb had a very similar season to Spencer. This was evident when Stoops and Gundy leaned on running game and that success opened up the passing game for Caleb. I hope Spencer has great success with SC.
Reading these comments I have a newfound great respect for you Sooners fans, not often you see another fan base show such respect and gratitude towards another. I am a gamecock fan, however I will also gladly also pull for the Sooners out of returned respect.
One more Sooner fan stepping in to congratulate Coach Beamer, Spencer Rattler, & Austin Stogner and wish all much success going forward. In my opinion, Spencer got a super-raw deal throughout the 2021 summer/fall and the season due to LR not giving full attention to OU for much if not the entire season. I personally don’t know a single OU fan that doesn’t want to see amazing success and career for all three of these men, regardless of team. I love the maturity shown by Spencer when he was going through the raw deal at OU. I never heard a complaint, and that spoke volumes about the maturing young man he is and was growing into in spite of a tough situation. I hope somehow, some way you all get to face that nasty other SC from out west and put up a big number on them. Thanks for being Sooners, and now go be awesome for The Univ of S Carolina!!
As a Sooner fan I'm happy for Spencer. You guys have a lot to be excited about in South Carolina. One thing I love about Spencer was his leadership and the professionalism he carries himself with. Last year might have been one of the best things to happen to him. Because of his mental toughness and reassessing his confidence I expect and hope for Spencer to have a breakout year. Lot of gamecock fans here in Sooner Nation Shane Beamer has it rolling in the right direction. Spencer and Austin are two tremendous additions to the program

I’m an OU guy. Sooner born and Sooner bred. But my wife is a USC grad (the good one). That means we always make it to Columbia at least once a year for a game. Thrilled that I get to keep cheering on Rattler and Stogner. You got two great ones. Their talents were hidden by a coach that was checked out of the, this year. But Spencer is still the guy that went into the year as a Heisman candidate and a president,Ed first round pick. He will show the world why this year. I can’t say the Cocks will win the East but they’ll give UGA all they want.

He's a good dude and has matured so much from his QB1 days. Honestly, knowing what we know now about Lincoln, it's fair to say that the USC deal was in the works pretty much all season and his heart wasn't in it which might explain why Spence regressed a little. With some coaching, this guy has an incredible cannon and can make every single throw on the field. You guys got a good one.

Spencer's arm may be best in business. A coach who can teach him would also help. Sure he'll get that help at South Carolina. Riley's mind was not on helping OU win this season. We still went 11-2 with Riley being elsewhere most of the season. Winning was due to the OU players and some/most of the asst. coaches helping you. Here we go again every time the Gamecocks get a new coach they predict themselves as being a contender in the sec championship or beating Clemson and we all know that isn't happening and ya'll beat a 6 and 6 tar heels team with the 97th ranked defense in the nation and then wondered why you didn't do that to Clemson. Because Clemson defense was the 2nd ranked defense in the nation and will be the same this year also.

You clearly don't know that his stats at OU were really really good. He was on something like 10 game winning streak when he got pulled as starter.
