Htc desire is not opening completely but it's vibrating and it's showing only till htc powered by android screen and its not at all going switch on or off it's going on vibrating
Maybe and may not, your battery could now be below 3.3v so the device can't charge it, or you have other problems caused by battery while it was stored for these years.

it means that the phone is charging but the LCD screen might be broken
