Alexis Mac Allister is something special. He started his Liverpool career playing out of position and as a number 6, he didn’t look bad, but it was obvious that he wasn’t a proper defensive midfielder for them at the end of the day it didn’t matter because they won so many games. In recent weeks, he’s been used further forward and he’s chipped in with goals and assists combined with his brilliant performances and how he’s been able to control games and contribute to the team. He’s a different player as a number 8 and when everyone is healthy, they have to continue using him there. He is one of the best midfielders in the world and more importantly he’s making the difference in a very close title race for Liverpool and what he offers in midfield his creativity passing work rate technique etc, is what they’ve lacked in that position for years. This is also what’s helped them break down so many low blocks having a midfield who’s creative and attack minded when going forward.
It shouldn’t even be a surprise that Liverpool are top of the premier league having proper midfielders like him in their team. He played well against his former club Brighton and dropped a masterclass against Sheffield United where he scored an incredible long range goal he did something similar against Fulham a couple of months ago. He’s exactly what Liverpool fans thought Thiago Alcantara would be, unfortunately he doesn’t even play these days as he’s always injured. Modern football is very confusing at times because clubs are paying around 90-100 million for players of his caliber and they don’t come close to his impact at all, meanwhile he cost Liverpool 35 million he’s playing well and could be a big factor if they potentially win the premier league this season. The guy is too good and he’s just a majestic footballer.

From what I’ve seen Amorim plays with a CB/DM in the central CB role (in a back 3). My no 1 signing would be Inacio.
