少し前に行ったときに撮影しました。オールドレンズで撮影したので雰囲気がある写真になったと思います。撮影は「湯釜」を中心にその周辺を撮りました。

I took this photo when I went there a while ago. I used an old lens, so I think it has a nice atmosphere. I took photos of the "Yugama" and its surroundings.

山頂付近は白い山肌が広がっているのが特徴であるが、1882年の噴火以前は火口付近まで緑が広がっていたという。山頂付近には複数の火口湖が形成され、湯釜、水釜、涸釜と呼ばれている。かつて、山腹にはいくつかの硫黄鉱山が存在し]、鉱山跡が現在も残っている。
火山山体として捉えると多数の火口と溶岩噴出口が山頂付近に集まった単成火山群的な特徴を有する。約5000年前の噴火で形成された火口は北東-南西方向に数本の列で並ぶ。
湯釜（ゆがま）は、直径約300メートル、水深約30メートル、水温約18℃の火口湖である。pHが1.0前後であり、世界でも有数の酸性度が高い湖と言われている。これは火山ガスに含まれる塩化水素や二酸化硫黄が水に溶け込み、塩酸や硫酸となったためと考えられている。湖水は白濁した青緑色を呈する。湖水に溶け込んでいる鉄イオンや硫黄などが特定の波長の光を吸収するため、このように見えると考えられている。

The mountain is characterized by a white mountain surface near the summit, but before the eruption in 1882, greenery extended all the way to the crater. Several crater lakes have formed near the summit, called Yugama, Mizugama, and Karegama. In the past, there were several sulfur mines on the mountainside, and the remains of the mines still remain today.
When considered as a volcanic mountain, it has the characteristics of a monogenetic volcano group, with numerous craters and lava vents gathered near the summit. The craters formed in an eruption about 5,000 years ago are lined up in several rows from the northeast to the southwest.
Yugama is a crater lake about 300 meters in diameter, about 30 meters deep, and with a water temperature of about 18°C. It has a pH of around 1.0, and is said to be one of the most acidic lakes in the world. This is thought to be because hydrogen chloride and sulfur dioxide contained in the volcanic gas dissolved in the water and became hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid. The lake water is a cloudy blue-green color. It is thought that this occurs because iron ions and sulfur dissolved in the lake water absorb certain wavelengths of light.
今晩は ガレ場にガスってる湯釜綺麗ですがかなり危険な酸性の池なんですね
このコバルトブルーは晴れた日に見たら最高でしょうね 草津に行く機会が有ったら少し足を延ばして行ける場所です。
