There are a few things to consider, the size of the core ball & the thickness of the paracord, both will determine the number of passes of the cord around the core. The glass marble I'm using is about 16~17mm in diameter, the paracord is about 04~0.5mm thick, with 3 passes around the core ball. I think I used about 1 meter. BUT keep in mind that you can't use the length of a completed/tightened monkey fist as benchmark, as you will need a longer cord to wrap around your fingers or a jig, then only pull the cord tight.
