    After using this preamp for a year it’s been nothing but amazing. Super clean sounds that allows you to add controlled distortion fx. Some preamps do sound better for hip hop though. I’ve been running a C414 through it and it is insane how crystal clear it is. 10/10

    Man, the differences are VERY subtle, in all honesty. Crazy how much you have to spend in the audio world to get like 5-10% difference!

      Yeah the microphone impact the sound allot more then the preamp despite internetz 🙈 You'd be good with pretty much any high-end preamp ✌️

      I like the gap premier versions, is the premier line considered high end? Or more mid range?

      @@stanc2288 in terms of sound I'd say GAP is High-end. It would probably be in GAPS advantage if they just prices their products higher since the price seem to make ppl suspicious haha! They use the best components same as the rest of the high-end brands that cost x3-4 as much but don't look as impressive as the big 19" .

      @@Christian_svedin thanks for the response. I'm a newbie so I have absolutely no idea. Good to know they're on the high end.
      Sure hope GAP keeps the pricing low. At least until I buy one 😂

    (4:45sec) This is precisely why I chose multiple channels of Neve 8801ADC'S. The the penultimate higher ground that gives to both vintage and modern microphones. But the Neumann is lovely too and agree that it is the top end that is often desirable and none of that bloaty low mid information. It has an enormous feature set too. I think for classical instruments and for trained voices who know how to use a microphone it is a worthy option to uncompromising engineers. Currently there are incentives when buying you get a free ND20 headphone, which brings the per channel price down to a competitive price point, where even less than fit for professional purpose mass produced brands are trying it on.

    • @Christian_svedin
      @Christian_svedin  2 года назад

      Yeah, I'm quite conflicted when it comes to Neves bloated lowmids. Great wording! That's exactly how i feel haha! A preamp shouldn't get in the way and the clean and open toppend of the Neumann here is really beautiful.! Thanks for watching ✌️

    The v402 is cleaner. The Neve sound is a bit muffled by comparison.

    Man every demo I’ve heard with the V402 just sounds great. It makes everything sound so big! Honestly it’s one of the only preamps I don’t need to do double listens for to hear the difference. How would you feel this compares to the classic Avalon?

    It would be very interesting to hear a comparison between some really high end preamp and a super affordable one like the ART Tube MP preamp. Just to hear what you get for the money. I think the ART Tube MP is around 100$. It used to be 50$ but i guess inflation go up. I have one. I think its great, quite vibey and thick sounding.

      I think Neumanns philosophy for the last 30 years has been about clean signal paths and atleast here I think it sounds great without. But I do like preamps with options so wouldn't mind a trafo if it could be inserted into the path as long as you could bypass it
