This is one of my favourite sketches. There's no gimmick to it, or like a punchline or joke as such, it's just dialogue between two characters. I have met people exactly like the husband and wife, a very certain kind of British person that these two portray perfectly, not just with the London working class accent, but their mannerisms and idiosyncrasies. The kind of language they use and the way they lay out their ideas and thoughts is just so fucking accurate to that certain type of people you meet in London, the UK and probably elsewhere in the world. And it's just them talking and the writing is just fantastic because while it's very funny, plays out like it could be an actual real conversation a couple would have.

I love how they behave like a normal couple, it adds to the funny bits, makes everything he says all the more absurd, and she plays the harried wife excellently.
I've watched this so many times, and I've just realised they have the sofa in the middle of the lounge and facing away from the TV and coffee table.

I will never put a TV in front of a sofa in my house. I hate the whole "tv is the center of our lives" thing. Tv is a solo activity; if I have company I want to have conversation.
I mean, in theory. I haven't *had* company, per se, yet. But I only just turned 40 so it will probably happen eventually and I will let you know how it turns out.
No wonder these two went on to have the successful careers they have. Brilliant as these characters 😂😂😂😂

Pff Freeman is easy, he's an international star who's appeared on 3 massively successful shows and several prominant films. Coleman is the real challenge. Only real fans of British comedy can point to her works off the top of their head

Martin Freeman is such a great actor. He can do anything from comedy like this to dark-humored intelligent shows like Sherlock. Not to mention the many date movies, fantasy movies, and various other comedies he's starred in. His talent is truly something to be reckoned with.
