It's a brilliant die, Eileen! You should be very proud of your accomplishment! I was wondering -- when gluing the two bottom sets of drawers to the base, would it add any stability if you also put some glue where the two bottom boxes touch each other? In other words, glue the bottoms of the two boxes but also glue the one side where the boxes touch in the middle.
Lolly thanks! And yes I didn’t realize I had left that step out until I was watching it after the video published. You can and I usually do add a little more glue in between the two bottom boxes, but this one seemed pretty stable even without it. Thanks for watching and your kind comments 😀
If you can’t find the color of brads you want, nail polish works well to color them for you. Or if you use the wider brads that are brass, you can use nail polish to make them pretty and coordinate better with your project. Just let them dry completely before using them. Stick in foam to keep them upright.
That is a great idea @misscraftsalot! It seems like there used to be a wider variety in size and color of brads but not that many around to buy- although I have not searched too much on Amazon… love the nail polish idea! Thanks for watching!
Amazing die, Eileen! ❤ I can see that it goes together so much easier than one would expect from seeing a finished sewing box project. You are definitely a design genius/engineer!
Hi Eileen , Got my notifications you were on a live stream so I sneak out to ur Essay shop to order my bundle didn’t want to miss out 😅love love all your dies they are simply Gold to me 🤩😍❤️
@@elizabethwhite7466 they will be re-stocked in my Etsy shop in a couple of weeks but you can pre-order if you'd like: www.etsy.com/listing/1637271954/pre-order-for-the-sizzix-cantilever
I am using medium sized brads. I like them because the prongs are the right size to fit in the box. If you use larger breads you may have to trim off the prongs but the box will sit tighter because the prongs are stronger and hold the drawers up better. It's been hard to find exactly the right brad but the medium ones work best
Thanks for sharing this Eileen! I have the original release of this die but have never put it together because I wasn't sure how...now I can :)
Oh that's great Angie! Sometimes it just takes a little video :-)
That is so cute! I look forward to getting my dies.
I mailed last night!!!
I saw that. I sorted through my brads. @@EileenHull

Absolutely brilliant die! I have an original that was my moms from the 50's. It is one of my most treasured pieces in my craft room.

What size Brad's are best for this
