  • What is the extent of God's creation? If there are multiple universes, did God create each of them? If an infinite number of universes, did God create all of them?

    How do we know about other universes if we can't possibly observe them.

      Exactly the reason why many prominent people deny their existence, or rather render them as untestable science.

      Brother we humans are not perfect. We need guidelines in every sector of our life to lead a peaceful life.
      What do you think?
      If a Creator exists, He will not send any guideline for us? Of course, He will!
      He doesn't do anything without any reason so that there is a reason to create us. And that is to test us (worship Him alone,accepting the truth for our own benefit etc).

    If cosmological constant for cosmic inflation is fine tuned in universe, then maybe cosmic inflation for multiple universes / multiverse also fine tuned for some kind of life. Could be that get cosmic inflation for multiverse only through fine tuning.

  • @jamesruscheinski8602

    God could work both multiverse and fine tuning through mathematics and information processing.

    Buddhist sutras from well over a thousand years ago speak of an infinite number of world systems. That there are an infinite number of universes seems somehow self-evident to me.
    That there could be only one finite universe strikes me as an absurd idea.

      What I think Swinburne is arguing is that the 'cosmos' or the sum-total of all reality (the Multi-Verse as some refer to it) would ITSELF have to be 'finely-tuned' or exist in such a manner as to bring forth a fine-tuned 'local-verse' that birthed us into existence. Essentially, he reasons the argument from a multi-verse is merely shifting the goal post back 3 steps, disguised with sophistry. The only proper solution to this conundrum is to posit an eternal fine-tun(er) I'm not saying I subscribe to this reasoning but it's on the table for good reason I think.

    What is a god?

    • @GreaterDeity
      @GreaterDeity 7 лет назад +2

      Now THAT is a good question. We should first begin with that. Here's a hint: We don't know how to answer or even properly ask this question yet.

      "God is that from everything began." what the does that mean?
      "He is immaterial" What is that? immaterial means it cannot influence the natural world, there is no difference between immaterial and nothing.
      I see thiests every day working really really hard to convince themselves that a god is real. Every one has a different explanation of what a god is, because there is zero evidence for one.
      If there was then you could
      1 Give a coherent uniform description of what it is
      2 Use that to prove its existence.
      Since nobody and do either it's completely interchangeable with nothing.

    • @logik100.0
      @logik100.0 7 лет назад

      One more thing what was the origin of this god?

    • @logik100.0
      @logik100.0 7 лет назад

      A number can be defined. Numbers can be tested in an equation. Love can be tested analysed described in detail, the descriptions are universal across peoples description. It can be verified. Chemical analysis can show people being aroused.
      Now do that for a god!
      To believe in a god you have to convince yourself really really hard. A god cannot interact with the physical world. It cannot be shown to exist like a number it cannot be described uniformly like any other word.
      Love is just a word to describe an emotion. Honest is just a word to describe a set of actions. If you're trying to say god is just a word then I agree. As that is all it is and can ever be until evidence it presented that it more than that.

      Niko Sure, the principality is all fine. That is not what I'm talking about as a scientific definition. Let me put it this way: if we can define God, we should be able to produce God. A good analogy is the makeup of AI modeled after human consciousness.

    This is a very silly question to begin with. We don't have the capability to even define God, let alone know what it is capable of. Now you're asking if it created something... or .. WHAT?! Science, at its current level, does not have the extent to approach something like a god. In order for human science to know God, we must first become God ourselves. Religion and philosophy... well, I don't know.

  • @nathanplant21

    unbelievable that a prominent, influential philosopher like this would hold such a ridiculous view of science - ie. accusing science of formulating theories to rule out God as Creator. SMH

    Multiple universes elimates God?
    Ehm... last I checked, God was elimated because it is a meaningless, unverifiable, mystical hypothesis.

    • @GreaterDeity

      Should humanity exist long enough, what would you say if we, a tiny spot, less than a spec in the universe, became indistinguishable from a god, upon our technological prowess? You should really be careful with your predispositions and assumptions. What God or god are you talking about? I will assure you, the one you think about, is not the one every other individual perceives. It is therefore crucial, when making such claims, you define 'god'. Here's the kicker; we don't have the capability to define god -- to define god, would mean that we know a god, and to know a god is to be a god. Good day.

    • @MikeJunior94
      @MikeJunior94 7 лет назад +1

      I was talking about the concept of God as promoted by Swinburne and other philosophers/theologians. A disembodied mind, eternal, all powerful (or extremely powerful) and that somehow in someway unspecified created this universe whilst tinkering with the constants.

      What makes you think I am living a selfish life? Secondly, I'd rather have the people around me and my own thoughts as all my matter, my joy and my meaning in this life.

    • @StarTrekNotStarWars

      @Niko Nobody is living selfish lives that you can tell from these simple conversations, but we can tell you that most religions indulge in the epitomy of selfish desires. Wishful thinking for eternal life and self importance after death.
