I never understand peoples fixation with music above everything else in an AMV.
To me music is in an AMV to give the footage it's meaning, it's flow, it's emotion, it's humor...or whatever genre of video it is. Even a terrible song I would never listen to on my MP3 can become amazing if the visuals correspond to it perfectly.
Affective Schoolgirls is a perfect example, I hate that kind of music. Yet the AMV is one of the best amvs released in recent years imo....watched it a lot regardless!
It's funny because this looks like one of those AMVs that takes a basic slice-of-life anime and makes it look super dramatic, but this is actually quite accurate to the plot of Haruhi Suzumiya.
Never would have listened to imagine dragons if it weren't fot his amv. Thanks anime, for helping me find good music.

Agree completely with what you're saying... If anything, these AMV's always turn me on to songs I otherwise would've never checked out.
I begin to like the song through association of the anime and therefore, develop a more emotional attachment to the song.

So true, I am a absolute Music Junkie, I love every kind of Music (ok most of all I like all kinds of Metal so I love the Musik of "Affective Schoolgirls" / Equilibrium is awsome), I don't know why everyone wants to compare, AMVs are a unique art form, it is all about the cut, Music, Emotions and all kind off Storys what you wanna tell.

There was a Mirai Nikki AMV that used a song from Crown the Empire that I saw. It was really good and how I actually discovered them. If I could actually do editing myself and not end up with something terrible, I would do it but unfortunately all I have is movie maker.

but the lyrics does not fit in , i watch the anime, and there is no revolution ,
still i love the song giving a nice emotion and sound effect to the amv .
not the best amv of the year, but is worth loving it
its almost like a sequel to the haruhi amv "soul removal" made last year.

Well, I wouldn't go as far as a song I hate becoming amazing, just cause an AMV. Though I can still say the AMV is well made, even if I don't like (or even hate) the used song. I don't watch it often in those cases, but I still say it's well made. There are several songs I normally dislike, but as long as I hear it, with the AMV in mind, it's fine. Example E.T. MMV.
And nice example, it's really extreme in terms of music and how it's made. At least for me ;-)

Honestly, Memories of a Broken Heart by Crown the Empire would be even better in my opinion. Radioactive is just the first one I thought would work really well for AoT.
