My issue with Rockstar coming out saying they are not the same generations is that they shouldn't have put certain "easter eggs" as they say it in the game. Things like Madd Dog and OG Loc on the Hollywood stars side walk. Those kinds of things are misleading and I believe those are mistakes on Rockstars part.
There is a thing about the Rockstar's world. You can either tell that they are both connected and not at the same time. Each series is on their own universe, but I do think the biggest connection that we could possibly get to make everything feel connected, is not just some random easter eggs from Characters being mentioned or doing some voice acting being the same character (like take for example the MCU, there is plenty of Captain America and Iron man from different universes and they don't belong to the MCU storytelling until the MCU somehow decides to traveller through universes) so that being said as I think the biggest connection would be the time traveller guy in RDR2, as you can see in the painting he can time travel to another universe.
They put those things because of fanservice, each story has their own time. SA is around the gang wars in the early 90s so we cant have gta 5 around the same time.

Sweet stubbornly stayed in Grove Street until his possible demise at the hands of the Ballas in a gang attack. Cesar and Kendl got married (as evident with Cesar telling CJ he is going to propose) and moved out to San Fierro to continue the garage business. The Grove Street Families eventually fell apart after Grove Street’s fall, with some ending up dead, others moving on.
What I think instead was that CJ made enough money to start his own business as in gta 4 he has his own, He started his business in las venturas but when sweet died, he did the same thing he did to brian and left San andreas moving to LC making his business there.

What I think this is, is possibly wanting to connect their previous games, but due to reworking their cities from the ground up, changing it from the San Andreas and Liberty City we knew, it's possible that the universes are the same, with a couple alteration to events, we don't have a proper HD Universe Definitive tie in to prove it, Rockstar giving these easter eggs may tie into them wanting to connect their universes in a manner. I think GTA SA took place in this version of Los Santos, possibly extremely different opposed to what happened in the og SA, and I got say that about 3 and Liberty City Stories, Vice City and Vice City Stories are a hard question mark, but it's possible that GTA:SA events exist in this universe, yet for some reason, aren't outright reference by Rockstar

My theory has always been that their in the same universe, but some natural disaster (earthquake in San Andreas, hurricane in LC) changed the cities around. That along with the time passing and they make it enough of a difference to make them seem different.
My theory is that EPSILON Program may have altered the timelines and altered the storylines and events of 3D and HD. Epsilon is also one of the only entities thats in both 3D and HD and came out unchanged. On top of that epsilon is in Red Dead redemption, LA Noire and Manhunt . Red Dead already confirms that they have the ability of time travel via Francis Sinclair.

I always thought that SA was just a telling of all the Grove Street stories being played out through one person. Like maybe there was no one single person like CJ but a couple people from Grove. Instead of having one mega human who burned a weed farm and robbed a casino as well as a military base and all of that, maybe a couple of people and it’s easier for the stories to be relived as being one person. Then to keep the stories more fast paced they condensed the area in which they took place, that’s why CJ took a plane from Las Venturas to Los Santos even though you could drive there in not too long a time. Wouldn’t be surprised if there was a game like SA, but in this HD universe
I have heard that the developers actually wanted to have 3 playable characters in GTA SA but scrapped it due to hardware limitations. How true it is, I don't know, but I've read it multiple places. They probably wanted to do that for the exact reason you stated, its a bit unbelievable that one man would have been involved with all of the things that happened in the story.

These are just mere coincidences and easter eggs, Rockstar already came years ago to tell and explain about the universes. They said that easter eggs and 2d objects can still appear, but most likely they don't exist on the same world or at least if did they are different characters on the same role. For example, CJ from HD would be different the 3D. But with RDR2 it got me a theory about the time traveller guy, that guy is not just a trime traveller but also a dimension one, so he could literally appear in the epsilon or the cults from GTA SA, 5 and RDR2. But still, SA and 5 not on the same world.

According to Steve Haines in-game tv show, the familes are currently divided in sets that shoot each other ocasionally. Basically the same issue at the start of GTA San Andreas and that almost dommed Grove Street back in the 90s, except this time it completely doomed them and made them much weaker and easy to attack, thus the Balla's took advantage of that opportunity and took down the leaders of GS and took over their iconic street.

And the reason Rockstar divided them in the first place I believe is because of the graphical differences between the games.

I don't think GTA SA and GTA V are directly connected, but I do believe that there could be versions of CJ, Sweet, Smoke, etc... in the HD universe, like a version of GTA SA's story happened in the GTA V universe but still its not the same.

I feel like Sweet died, so CJ and Kendl left and lived they lives separately but visit each other from time to time. CJ was a one man Agency basically at a relatively young age. I feel like he wouldn't have left unless sweet died, cuz sweet would've never left willingly.
Nah... I think they are just different universes with "parallelism" or different timeline with changed events. CJ, Big Smoke, Cesar, etc. They existed, but taken different paths or something.

I think the Gta universe has it's own multiverse just like Marvel, as a huge fan of Gta i notice something that they keep in secret for example Zombietech, Epsilon, Ufo's , Alien's etc. That Epsilon member Francis Sinclair mention's he time travel's, visit's other universe in Red Dead Redemption 2 i wouldn't be suprised if Rockstar decide's to use All of The Gta main protagonist's in one game' s and have them team up against a common enemy.

I swear it's like people didn't actually listen to the dialog in GTA 5 until Covid hit. It's been obvious for years that GTA 5 and SA are directly connected, they outright state it in SEVERAL mission conversations and dozens of free-roam NPC dialog.
I think Rockstar just changes GTA universes every now and then so they don't have to worry about continuity too much. I see no reason why the basic events of San Andreas couldn't have happened in the HD universe but maybe not all the details are the same.

Nope. GTA SA takes place in the 3D Universe (with GTA 3, Vice City, the Stories and Advance) and GTA 5 takes place in the HD Universe (With GTA 4 and the Episodes from Liberty City and Chinatown Wars. Personally, I don't consider the online as canon). It's just an easter egg

I think the grove street family fell apart but CJ's business in san fierro and four dragon casino bloomed and he ended up becoming the CEO and getting rich. It was clear from the mission "Homecoming" that cj wanted to live a better life instead of going back to the hood. He went back only because of his brother sweet.

I believe there is a connection to San Andreas and V but I don’t think everything that happened in San Andreas happened in V’s universe. Chances are there is a CJ who ran with grove street and had an impact on the gang but not the same CJ that took over San Andreas

My theory has always been that their in the same universe, but some natural disaster (earthquake in San Andreas, hurricane in LC) changed the cities around. That along with the time passing and they make it enough of a difference to make them seem different.
A lot can change in 20 years.
My theory is that EPSILON Program may have altered the timelines and altered the storylines and events of 3D and HD. Epsilon is also one of the only entities thats in both 3D and HD and came out unchanged. On top of that epsilon is in Red Dead redemption, LA Noire and Manhunt . Red Dead already confirms that they have the ability of time travel via Francis Sinclair.

I always thought that SA was just a telling of all the Grove Street stories being played out through one person. Like maybe there was no one single person like CJ but a couple people from Grove. Instead of having one mega human who burned a weed farm and robbed a casino as well as a military base and all of that, maybe a couple of people and it’s easier for the stories to be relived as being one person. Then to keep the stories more fast paced they condensed the area in which they took place, that’s why CJ took a plane from Las Venturas to Los Santos even though you could drive there in not too long a time. Wouldn’t be surprised if there was a game like SA, but in this HD universe
I have heard that the developers actually wanted to have 3 playable characters in GTA SA but scrapped it due to hardware limitations. How true it is, I don't know, but I've read it multiple places. They probably wanted to do that for the exact reason you stated, its a bit unbelievable that one man would have been involved with all of the things that happened in the story.

Cj sweet Ryder and big smoke aren’t in the gta 5 universe but they was probably some families gang members like cj Ryder sweet or big smoke in the gta 5 universe it could also be a little Easter egg or nod at the old game that took place in the same city and personally I think it’s a bit of both

These are just mere coincidences and easter eggs, Rockstar already came years ago to tell and explain about the universes. They said that easter eggs and 2d objects can still appear, but most likely they don't exist on the same world or at least if did they are different characters on the same role. For example, CJ from HD would be different the 3D.
But with RDR2 it got me a theory about the time traveller guy, that guy is not just a trime traveller but also a dimension one, so he could literally appear in the epsilon or the cults from GTA SA, 5 and RDR2. But still, SA and 5 not on the same world.
The ending is also a connection to the new contract dlc in gta online where Franklin is a ceo and lamar too

According to Steve Haines in-game tv show, the familes are currently divided in sets that shoot each other ocasionally.
Basically the same issue at the start of GTA San Andreas and that almost dommed Grove Street back in the 90s, except this time it completely doomed them and made them much weaker and easy to attack, thus the Balla's took advantage of that opportunity and took down the leaders of GS and took over their iconic street.

Maybe Sweets gangsta lifestyle finally caught upto him and after seeing the loss of another family member, Jonson family finally left the hood for good and CJ just focused on his properties while Ceaser and Kendell moved to a wealthy suburb and are raising a family there.
i've always been fond of easter eggs like this, my personal theory is cj and wuzi continued the casino gig and cj bought a lot of properties hence i think he's rich af now and doesn't really care about GSF anymore, he's moved on from the petty life gangbanging bullshit, its also certain that Madd Dogg got big again and CJ as his manager, they made it into the rap game, as for Sweet i think he stayed loyal at GSF but considering that there are still rivalries between the ballas,vagos and GSF families at the end of the story of GTA SA, he probably got killed by a rival gang at some point, as for Kendl and Cesar, they got married and also got rich due to their garage business in Fierro while also in contact with CJ and Wuzi, the ending is they all became rich and moved on from the gang life hence they moved to a much more civilized city or traveling to another country having a vacation idk but its just my theory, if my first theory wasn't right then the 2nd one is there are versions of CJ, Sweet, Ryder and Big Smoke in GTA V universe and Lamar and Franklin was referring to them
