Something that stands out to me is he is willing to learn . Listen they asked him in college his work ethic one thing he stated” I’m trying to work on my shooting this is constantly my priority it’s part of my routine . Dude he has book, kd , Beal , Grayson . Man I believe in him our Mikal bridges tbh

When you think of it, it’s probably easier to find a PG in free agency than it is to find a young defensive wing. All last year we complained that they didn’t have any players like this. If we would have drafted Kolek, we would be complaining that they still didn’t have defense. I can accept this pick

considering the fact that ishbia's scouts are the ones who found value in Camara at 52 last year I have faith that they can do the same/get close this year, only 1/1 right now in the second round so far but pretty good track record to hit on your first try with a 52nd pick 🤷🏽♂

Listen: FACT of the matter is the suns do not have an elite defender outside of KD who is too old to be burning his legs guarding the other teams best player. Royce, Beal, Book, Grayson are all not that and for what people think Okogie is, Dunn is much better and more versitile on the defensive end.
Small Ball lineup (thats not that small) is so much more athletic with Dunn.
if Filiposki or a uber athletic C doesnt fall - then get another wing thats more 2-way (bobi klingman, tyler smith, Mongo, jaylen wells - IN that order of value)

We took a 6-7 guy who was possibly the worst offensive player in the draft and Collier was still on the board.

The fact that he was on the board at #28 in this historically weak draft class tells you everything you need to know about his offensive game. Still a good pickup who can improve his jumper and develop some offensive tools, and 5 years from now we could very well look back and call him the steal of this draft.
But I don’t see him as an “NBA Ready” “Plug and Play” rookie who can contribute to a deep playoff run. In the playoffs, you cannot throw a rookie out there who shoots 20% from 3PT and 53% from the free throw line. It’s the exact same reason why Josh Okogie hasn’t been in our playoff rotations, and Dunn’s offensive game is much worse than Okogie’s
If josh okogie was bigger and could be the undisputed defender for other teams best player he would absolutely get more minutes

Okogie is the best defender on the team and if he could be even just a slightly below average shooter and someone who isn’t such an offensive liability, he’d have gotten his bag already locked up on a huge contract. His defense is the only thing that’s kept him in the league lol

James Jones i think is on his last season. Unless they go deep in the playoffs, like the WCF or the actual finals, he's gotta go. This team is easy too old.
We should have kept that 22nd pick sent to Denver. Why ? Hes big, can score, can defend and is strong and can defend 1 vs 1 without help. Similar player to Aaron Gordon. Can shoot. Now, this dunn isnt bad but who can he guard with that little frame despite the height. Cant guard luka, towns, lebron, benchero, kawhi, or any other Pf or SF. Hes to small. Im sorry, this draft isnt gonna move a thing.
We never learn on draft. Bad fit. This guy is similar to Hamidou Diallo. Long, similar frame, cant shoot that well. Again we should have kept that 22nd pick.

I almost 100% agree - dude’s gonna be a liability on offense. No doubt. there’s no way around that. He is, however, somewhat of a decent passer if you watch his tape. We just have to hope he keeps that mf moving. The way I see it, we were already trotting offensive liabilities out there (eubanks, okogie, kbd early in the season before the trade, etc) in an attempt to get some defensive help. Dunn is a better defender than any of those dudes right off the bat. He doesn’t have to be ROTY for us to benefit, just needs to show up on D when we need his matchup. The best game of his offense is also his mid range, which obviously fits us perfectly lol
Lu Dort guarded Luka better than anyone I’ve seen in the playoffs. He made life hell for him that entire series.
Dort is 6’5 with a 6’8 wingspan.
Dunn is 6’6 with 7’1 wingspan.
Jaylen Brown guarded Luka in the Finals and did a phenomenal job.
Jaylen Brown: 6’6 / 7’0 wingspan
Ryan Dunn: 6’6 / 7’1 wingspan.
Dort and Brown also guard Kawhi, Banchero, and Lebron btw… And here’s a couple more of the league’s best wing defenders:
Dillon Brooks: 6’6 / 6’7 wingspan.
Herb Jones: 6’8 / 7’0 wingspan
And to guard some of the bigger PFs? Dunn is definitely versatile enough to be able to switch on them and hold his own. But the Suns have another player who can guard those bigger PFs. You might have heard of him before, his name is Kevin Durant.
I agree that he isn’t going to move the needle for the Suns because his offensive game is too much of a liability. He will be unplayable in the playoffs. But everything you said about his defense is just flat out wrong
A player that defends first. 👍 A player that can defend on the wings at that. We haven't had that since Bridges has been gone. I'm sure his offense will come. Richard Dumas and Shawn Marion weren't great on offense coming in neither but could defend and offense came. Good pick. 👍 Let's Go Suns!

The Suns will not go into the season without a point guard off the bench. To be honest, I’m glad we didn’t draft Kolek. But I hope Ishbia is letting James Jones run the show. I trust James Jones, I don’t trust Ishbia, who has already made some big mistakes that Jones wouldn’t have done
