Amazing set! Fun watching in live setting. I Have always played acoustic piano, but sunday keys is opening a whole new world for me. A lot to learn after watching this. Was the synth setting on Holy Forever a repeater setting?
Great job and thanks for doing this, David! What I learned about your ear monitor mix compared to what I like: 1) Your keys are very hot and I try to blend myself in the mix. 2) The drums and click are quite low also---maybe I should try lowering them myself? 3) I hear very little guitar and I am a guitar lover and like to interact with what they do. Maybe I should cut them out almost all together? 4) Your pad and arpeggiated fill sounds really fill out the sound and sound awesome! I could benefit from using them! 5) Since I think more like an arranger than just a keyboardist, I like a complete mix, but it may help me to concentrate on the basic instruments instead which may give me a better concentration on my playing? 6) Your vocals cut thru very nicely and I like to hear them to know what is going on vocally especially during spontaneous times! 7) If I play main keys, we usually have a worship leader giving signals, but it would help the band if I could call them out when possible. I really couldn't understand what the the bass MD was saying most of the time! 8) It is great to hear this from another musician's perspective! 9) Your rush at the end actually sounded cool with the other musicians holding down the groove! Thanks again!
This is a very encouraging video. I play keys at our church, and recently got Sunday Keys for my iPad and the template for mainstage. I'm SUPER excited to start using this starting this coming Sunday! It's encouraging to know that mistakes can happen even by the greats (I'm talking to you David 😊) We just have keep pressing forward! I am curious, what stand do you use to hold the iPad over the Nord? Don't feel bad using that as a controller lol. I'll be doing the same thing haha!
Very neat and tidy, well done. I use ipad Sunday Sounds almost every weekend layered with a few of our church's Korg SV1 on board sounds. And it's mostly been a very good experience, thanks.
This is inspiring. I am trying DEMO of Sunday keys app as I am learning piano. thank you for all encouraging videos you keep sharing. God bless you for the good work.
All the keys audio is from the Sunday Keys App :) For this set I just used the Nord as a controller (don't blame me, it;'s just what was already on stage! haha). -David
Hey folks, I used several different patches throughout the setlist. The go-to grand piano you heard for most of the set is the SK Grand from the Sunday Keys App. I used the Hall voicing a lot. I did swap out for an upright piano for the ending song a bit, but then back to the Grand once the band started to improvise. For pads you're hearing several layered together, and varying a lot from song to song. Some that are often in the mix: Retro Bell Pad Warm Pad 2 Silky Velo Strings Juno Saw Pad All of these are coming from the Sunday Keys App! -David
Hey my brother they use the Sunday keys app I use their free version and is amazing sound I use my 61 key midi controller with the app and I get those sounds. Let me know If you need help getting the app or any questions about it Godbless
Hey David is there any way Sunday Sounds could bring some dynamic variation to the tonic pad in the Sunday keys app? Like drastically different sounding tonic pads instead of all of them sounding similar
Guys, honestly, why do people use a nord stage as a MIDI controller? Is there really a reason? I see this so often at church setups and never understood
During the parts you said you were rushing, it seems to me you were phrasing with the vocalists, they were pushing it and you were following them. The rhythm section was holding back, and in my opinion should have also pushed it also. But that's just my 2 cents. I thought you played well.
Always feels bad to use a Nord as a controller, they do sound great! But for times like this where I've got to practice/prepare somewhere else and then just show up, plug in, and play, nothing beats software for making sure it goes as expected IMO. -David
Since several Song Specific Patches were used, a Shared Setlist link for this one doesn't make sense, but you can refer to the SSPs used throughout and grab them from the site :)
I will say that compared to Keyscape, the Nord grands and uprights are acceptable. Even if this was a comparison video, though, I highly doubt anyone can discern piano timbres during a full-band live worship gathering
I clicked to learn but ended up joining the worship xD
Same!
Happy Sunday Keys user since 2019, love the updates over the years! Seamless transition to the synth lead at 18:03 is just 🔥
thanks for watching and for the long term support!

I love this type of video, typing your thoughts during worship and hearing what you hear.
Awesome!
You killed it! Love seeing music change lives!

Brilliant ‘insight’ into you fab keys playing, uplifting praise and worship to our Wonderful Heavenly Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
I absolutely love the transition from Worthy into What a Beautiful Name. Great job, David.

love the arpeggio Holy forever 2nd Chorus - :) good job David!
Thanks for watching!
@@SundaySoundsYes! I love the Arp there, too! May I ask which Arp you were using there?
@@jaredskeen6986 it's part of the programming in the Song Specific Patch for Holy Forever :)
Thank you David and New Life Worship for blessing us by sharing this video! Ultimately, thank you Jesus my Lord and Savior!
Hello David!!! Are these pianos and pads from the Sunday Keys app itself or from Nord??
All the keys audio is from the Sunday Keys App :)
For this set I just used the Nord as a controller (don't blame me, it;'s just what was already on stage! haha).

Amazing. More of these please.
Interesting video to watch. I just bought a Yamaha CK88. Used it first time at a church i play at occasionally. They always have a Nord 73 i play.
What patch did you use as default to get that worship sound (piano/pad). Our church is struggling getting that sound like yours
Yeah, same here. I'd like to know how to get that punchy piano sound with just enough pad/ambience behind it. Love the sound
🤦♂️

Thank you very much! That was helpful! I am still dealing with the "smooth transition" from one song to the next...it keeps cutting off.@@SundaySounds
Is He Worthy - def a tricky keys part!
Hey David is there any way Sunday Sounds could bring some dynamic variation to the tonic pad in the Sunday keys app? Like drastically different sounding tonic pads instead of all of them sounding similar
Thanks for the feature request! We'll consider some ways to provide more drastic differences to Tonic in the future and see what's possible :)
@@SundaySounds thank you!! Can’t wait!!
Love it❤
Using apps makes your sound consistent.
More content like this please!!! And with close up of your fingers 😂GBU
What is the best patch to not purchase that gets a grand piano with some flavor on pads and such?
I have the click louder in my mix. This mix sounds nice though!
I hope the app is also available on android 🙏
Guys, honestly, why do people use a nord stage as a MIDI controller? Is there really a reason? I see this so often at church setups and never understood
Are you using any plugins? Or is everything through the SK app? If using plugins, what’re you using?
No plugins, just the built-in sounds from the App!

Poor Nord! Didnt got used at its full potential!😅

Cheaper than a pipe organ or grand piano, portable, there for however it might be needed
Hi David, I can't seem to find the audio interface. Did the Nord serve as the audio interface?
Used a Presonus Audiobox96, it's on the ground so you can't see it in the video.
Hi David,
I’m planning to buy a new audio interface. Do you advise me to buy this one or a Focusrite ? Or even a Motu?
Thanks.
Would be amazing to have the link to the patches used 😏

Do you have a link to the RUclips with full worship, not ear mix version?
Up
@@Flavio_Lima_ sorry?
David included the church link in the video description, and live video links are easy to locate
@@steveccase of course I tried, but I did not found exactly this worship session
@@Sergij_Vari ...
Could def get a wayyy better piano sound out of the nords stock sounds
I will say that compared to Keyscape, the Nord grands and uprights are acceptable. Even if this was a comparison video, though, I highly doubt anyone can discern piano timbres during a full-band live worship gathering
That's an expensive MIDI controller! - Seriously though... thanks for doing keyboard focused vids!
It sure is! haha
The voicing choices are weird at times
I make WAY more mistakes than you lol
