Nafford lock approach downstream is a sharp S bend and on one occasion in a strong crosswind we were blown into the trees - in rectifying the situation we finished with my wife in the tree and me on the boat ! Such are the memories of boating. The judge said it was not sufficient grounds for divorce so 20 years later we are still married :>)

Good evening Vanessa l have just finished tuning in my TV tablet etc on the boat and was having a few teething problems, after installing the wifi on my hoat and the notifications we're saying that you hadn't done a video this week 😢 it then updated and then said u had hooray🎉🎉.. what a nice river it looks to cruise on 😊 l hope the cows didn't attempt to eat ur flowers on the fender or off the boat Yet again there were amazing shots of insects and colourful scenery and great views from the top of the hill. I'm surprised that boats still there. Some good scrap value. The lock is hard to get into and I hit the pontoon if I remember. Wild mooring can be dodgy. You two are experts at it. Love the Avon. Gorgeous river. 👍👍👍

I’m in France again, we arrived yesterday so I forgot it was Mindful Narrowboat Day! After a busy day of exploring I sat down and browsed the internet and was overjoyed to find your vlog! It’s been a lovely, sunny day here in Nice, a bit different to the U.K. weather as it’s been 26 degs here on the 1st September and we got a fabulous view from the plane of the Super Blue Moon last night, it was magical, it seemed we were right next to it! I’m glad you managed to survive the jump at your wild mooring spot. Absolutely beautiful footage as always, those cows were cute and the wildlife shots were stunning. Worcestershire is very beautiful and the bridge you passed under was enchanting, (I’m running out of adjectives.😁) Zephyr picked up on your excitement about walking up Brendon Hill! Only trouble is twisting an ankle when leaping ashore like that, nicely done! Truly the golden hour to follow. What a great spot with bovine friends as well. A little tip with the mooring spikes, don't try hitting up, hit from side to side making the hole bigger then it will come out easier, there you owe me lol.

Dragonflies are my favorite bug. Looking at the one at 21:12 brings to mind that they have some interesting features: have both read and heard that the dark spots on wing leading edge located out toward wing tip are balance weights/counterweights which improve wing performance; and, whereas a lot of insects commonly have just one set of wing muscles which pull the wings in one stroke direction, dragonflies have opposing sets of muscle for each wing, pulling on downstroke and upstroke. And that their field of vision is completely spherical but has lessened detail resolution aft. Some years ago was able to get closeup photos of a dragonfly resting perched on exterior door handle to my van and it turned out the back of its head was a hollowed out cone with neck joint set inside the cone.

Dragonflies are my favorite bug. Looking at the one at 21:12 brings to mind that they have some interesting features: have both read and heard that the dark spots on wing leading edge located out toward wing tip are balance weights/counterweights which improve wing performance; and, whereas a lot of insects commonly have just one set of wing muscles which pull the wings in one stroke direction, dragonflies have opposing sets of muscle for each wing, pulling on downstroke and upstroke. And that their field of vision is completely spherical but has lessened detail resolution aft. Some years ago was able to get closeup photos of a dragonfly resting perched on exterior door handle to my van and it turned out the back of its head was a hollowed out cone with neck joint set inside the cone.

Hi Karen, the normal mooring spots are much easier to get on and off at, but the wild ones can be a bit trickier which is why I always wear a life preserve on the rivers; I only jump though if I know its easy. Thank you for your lovely comment. Have a super weekend, take care🌻🦋
