It's not like he's working the mean streets of Philadelphia and has so much other work to do, it's a sleepy ski resort area. He'd have that sorted in like half an hour. But then it'd be a really short movie.
I want this movie done over from Tad's pov, but in the end he realizes that he loves Ralph and uses his influencer skills to make a masc-cottage-core line of outdoor equipment called "his&his", featuring the most comfortable yet elegant double sleeping bags. Oddly enough, one of my parents had significant memory loss after a head injury. While her being able to remember really random stuff is fairly accurate (my dad remembered the perfume my mom wore but not who she was), the injuries are what are ridiculous to me. My dad was a John Doe in the hospital for months. Spent time in a coma and had to learn to walk and talk again.
I completely agree. Every case of amnesia I've read about also involved severe physical injury to the head and body requiring extensive surgery and physical therapy. Hope your dad's okay now.
We studied amnesia briefly in one of my college courses. There's also a version (I can't remember the correct name because it was 15 years and at least two DSMs ago, so it's probably been adjusted anyway) it's essentially "acute onset amnesia". What occurs is an individual has unaccounted for time and is found later with *no* sign of injury, but acute memory loss. (In one case a couple were at the airport and realized they left something they needed in the car so one spouse left to get it before their flight and was found later after missing take off standing in the parking lot.) It's a very odd occurrence and the only commonality is that no person who was familiar with them can say what happened in the time frame ranging from 5 minutes to *hours*. Some have complete personality changes, down to likes and dislikes, religion, morals, temperament ect - others are remarkably the same but rediscover the things they do and do not enjoy again. It's rather fascinating; especially the cases with total personality changes and no reversion with a spouse. They go through a coping process that this is a new person but a majority end up falling in love with that individual as well. Also the reversions are both fantastic and mundane simultaneously - decades go by doing all of the typical familiarity approaches, but nothing changes and then one day in the shower the individual just recalls everything. My mom recently retired as a CNA on the surgical floor of a hospital and she said the exact same thing about patients treating the hospital like a hotel! Her stories made my hair stand on end. My heart goes out to you! ❤️
I'm glad I'm not a nurse because my patience is -9000% and if any of those rats try me, it's 15000 units of insulin, 10000mg of Extra Strength Tylenol, 5000mg of Ibuprofen, and 10000mg of Aspirin, and 5000mg Lithium for them in a few minutes
My mother works in a hospital as a receptionist and she tells me just how disrespectful the patients can be to both her, the nurses, and the rest of the staff. It's like a teacher dealing with students' parents, except they're going through withdrawal during back to school night lmao. Much love to you for the work you do
Yep, a lot of my patients and their families are hella entitled, and treat the nurses and aides like their own personal slaves. What's worse is management has a "customer is always right'" mentality, so we have to cater to the patients and families regardless of how they treat us.
I had amnesia from a car accident and I can say that they don't wait for you to be OK before releasing you in the U.S. my sister left with me an hour after I woke up.
As terrible as care can be for non-quality insurance having Americans your sister wasn't a random man off the street tho lol. We have standards here not alot but some 😅
There are some people who could identify me and provide quite a bit of information that would be convincing enough (in fact there's one that can and another I'm *certain* data tracks me) to get my release to their "care" - the very thought absolutely terrifies me.
I had a jealous ass coworker who would say this to all the other women she noticed would go without make up! I only wear eyeliner and a couple times she's like "omg you're sick?!" I finally had to tell her off 😤😤
this is why i stopped wearing all makeup except brow gel and tinted lip balm at 21. i wore a full face daily from 14ish to 20 and got very good at it but it was just not worth it not being able to look at my own face and looking like two different people
@18:10 The actress who played Lohan's mom in Parent Trap, Natasha Richardson, literally died from a head injury sustained in a skiing accident. 😶 Lindsay may be going a TAD overboard with those 'subtle' references 😬.
5:23 and 5:40 are just two of the many MANY reasons why I can't get enough of your videos! You have *SUCH* an eye for these things, I wouldn't have noticed the beauty blender not touching OR the acrylic ice cubes had you not pointed them out. I say this under every video but *YOU ARE SO APPRECIATED AND ADORED* !! Seriously, thank you so much for the work you do to make these commentary videos. You are one of a kind, and no other channel can compare to the magic you make. ❤️
As a woman working in an office, if I see a co-worker looking tired, I quietly admire that they came in and are pushing through it anyway, which stands out far more than a few dark circles - I'll say something if someone looks semi-permanently (increasingly) drained, in a private conversation behind closed doors. Yet somehow, my male co-workers continue to consider "You look tired today" regular watercooler small talk in the middle of the kitchen with myself and other female employees. What IS that? Is there an unspoken law that men teach little boys or something that you're always supposed to tell women they look tired on the spot in the same tone as you would pay them a compliment?
This is interesting to me, because in my previous careers that were heavily female-dominated, I got the same treatment by other women. I didn’t think of it as a thing men do, I thought it was just a thing we as society do. Whatever it is, it’s fucking bs. I rarely wear makeup anymore cuz I got fed up with the comments I’d get when I didn’t have time or energy to put any on
Thank you except women do it to me too. It's so annoying. It's unnecessary to comment on my physical appearance. A compliment, sure that's nice, otherwise I don't see the point in making comments about how people look.
My wife and I watched the movie with the plot idea that Jake was scheming for money the whole time and knew exactly who she was. Honestly it made the lack of chemistry and all the mentions of their need and the grandma's over the top bonding attempts all make sense.
Whether the movie is good or not I'm glad Lindsey Lohan is back and seems to be doing better ♥️ Editing after reading the comments: @mischa educated me on Ms. Lohans past actions and it's pretty bad 😬 so while i still hope Lindsey Lohan is better and does better i hope she apologized and works on herself.
for those who don't know, Lohan: uses the n-word, called a Black man slurs before assaulting him, said "you must from Ghana" and spit on his face, she called a homeless Syrian refugee woman a child trafficker and attempted to kidnap her children, she yelled gibberish at her which apparently she thinks Arabic sounds like, she also carjacked some teenagers car while drunk and drove so erratically they were in fear for their lives, when she was caught she tried to blame it on a Black child. But it's good to know you all are "SO HAPPY SHE'S BACK". anti-Black racism is as american as apple pie so I'm not surprised
Who knew that Cady Heron and Trouty Mouth would ever get together on screen? Also, the influencer boyfriend was the best part, and I liked that he also got a happy ending as well. Yay for Bi/Pan representation!
My grandmother (a total freaking leftist queen) and I watched this at Thanksgiving. We had WAAAAAAAY too much fun watching this and playing "Christmas Movie Bingo"; we have no choice but to stan an unhinged masterpiece!
I wish they had been more clear about how old Lindsay Lohan's character was. She looks beautiful, but also she doesn't look any age except "post-plastic surgery" and her character could have been 22, with how she acted (Tad too). But then Lindsay would be really young compared to her love interest (probably? he has a kid? he also sort of looks like an adult playing a teen/twenty-something?).
I have a holiday movie request! "Deck the Heart". It includes numerous flubbed lines, several cuts to the same shot, an assistant in dire need of a spice rack, a boss with disturbing mood swings and perhaps the most baffling (and worst) scene in holiday hallmark movie history.
Just when I think we’re finally moving past the “Bad husband/fiancé is *actually* gay! Oh isn’t that so ironic, teehee!” trope… and of course the gay character gets together with a random person who they barely know at the very end of the movie, while the straight people have spent the entire time carefully courting each other. And it’s presented as “look how nice and supportive we’re being, showing a gay character and *not* telling them to go directly to Hell!” Lol. Come on now, get it together, Netflix! Atleast I had your Ralph/Tad emotional montage to soothe my soul, that was truly a thing of beauty.
Oh my gosh, when you were talking about Lindsay's character falling down the mountain and how many people die in ski accidents, made me so sad to remember the beautiful mother in The Parent Trap, Natasha Richardson, unfortunately passed that way. Poor Queen. :c I also remember one of your other Lindsay Lohan breakdowns, (maybe Teenage Drama Queen) where you mention she either always plays a normal girl or proper talker, and you are so right! Here she is being proper talker!

I legit thought you wrote it as "Failing for Christmas" 😂 seemed appropriate! Plus, I get informed about global warming, love your little activism breaks 😊 here in Australia we have had three years in a row of "1 in 100 year" floods, following the most severe bushfire season in history (summer 19/20). And then people can't afford insurance. Or they're even looking at relocating whole towns above the 1:100 flood level. They're the forgotten climate refugees.
my suggestion to fix part of this movie would have been to have a friend of Tad follow Tad and Sierra up the mountain to record Tad’s proposal, establishing why Tad is a bad choice for Sierra. Sierra would be unaware of the friend watching until shortly before she fell, and she would get mad at Tad for using their engagement as content. (he could establish earlier on that he’s in need of some new content to keep his channel or whatever interesting to his viewers.) in her anger, Sierra could freak out and slip down the mountain. Tad could also fall down the other side, but then you have the friend who could be videotaping his journey while he’s looking for Tad, which opens up the floor for some physical comedy/shenanigans/jokes around how dumb he is/etc. it wouldn’t fix the bad plot, but it would at least make some things make more sense and possibly make it more entertaining to watch
I had much more fun watching this through the lens that Jakes family was in on holding the new stepmom hostage as they made literally no effort to reunite her with her family
My name is Noelle and I'm so excited that Nick suggested my name in this video 😊 Also, as a weird side note, I dated a guy named Chris Massey in high school - the same name as Jason Priestley's character in that Hallmark Christmas movie starring Melissa Joan Hart. There's also a disney/Nickelodeon actor named Chris Massey. He was Kyle Massey (Cory Baxter from That's So raven)'s brother and he played Michael on Zoey 101. Fun fact.

speaking of overboard (starring goldie hawn), reese witherspoon mentioned being inspired by it in an interview talking about the christmas movie her company produced! it's coming out on the 9th, i think, and it's on amazon. called "something from tiffany," and it's starring zoey deutch (who i'm pretty sure has been in other things you've covered on clip breakdown? but i'm not sure. she's great, but has been in a lot of weird stuff lol)

18:08 😳 this is a not so fun fact and a (pretty tasteless imo) 'nod' to another work of Lindsays, The Parent Trap. The actress who played the twins mother Natasha Richardson died in 2009 from a brain injury she sustained while skiing.
21:56 I live in Germany and can confirm it is cold and heating has got so much more expensive. I'm pretty sure my school isn't heating as much as it did last year, I'm always cold when I'm there and most of the radiators aren't on. I'm in an acting club as well that's in a building that's only allowed to heat up to 17°C so that's also a bit chilly but luckily fine once we turn the stage lights on. I'm also lucky enough to come from a family that can just about afford to keep the house warm, so it must be pretty rough for poorer families since public buildings aren't that well heated either.
My only vivid memory from age 5 is when i accidentally hung myself. On a kindergarten trip to the forest we had this magnifying glass in a string around our necks and i was climbing a tree when the teacher called us from afar to come back. When i jumped down, the string got stuck on a branch and that was it. Luckily i was with the biggest kid in class (he had been held back) and he managed to break the branch and save me. Had a red line on my neck for a month and from then on they tied the string around the wrist instead. Weirdly i dont remember my parents getting mad at them, but maybe they didn't realize how close to death i came (if that specific kid hadn't been there because any other wouldn't have been able to break the branch i think)
For me, this movie is definitely in the "So bad it's good" category, along with "The Princess Switch". So many Christmas movie tropes smooshed together with a totally implausible plot, I wouldn't be surprised if Netflix planned it to be a camp guilty pleasure... Either way, I love it. Congrats to Lindsay too 👏 Love your content Nick ❤

Yes! RN=Refreshments and Narcotics. I can take nonsense from patients, but family members not so much.
But I'm guessing that in your case, your sister was able to identify you, so you weren't a Jane Doe 😉 This movie is whack.
Honestly Tad and ralph had more chemistry than mc and the vanilla man......
The movie should have been about Tad and Ralph instead, if you ask me.
Can totally relate to wear a bare face to work and getting asked all day if I am either sick or tired, NO that's just how my face looks.....

It is not that serious. Plus she didn't write it.
Okay I said that too when I watched it, I was like wait isnt this a little weird of a coincidence??
@@amybrowning I honestly don't think it was intentional I mean it's Christmas and snowy so it makes sense why it would be a skiing accident
youre appreciated and adored by me btw for your positivity. also, agreed!!
Why do u liberals hate men so much
I just never wore make up at this job. Now all the men get that yep, I look like shit permanently, nothing new that you need to comment on
Her "big comeback" was going to be a Christmas romcom? That's what actors do after their careers are already over
i mean shes making references about old movies she used star in so i think shes already washed up
My wife and I watched the movie with the plot idea that Jake was scheming for money the whole time and knew exactly who she was. Honestly it made the lack of chemistry and all the mentions of their need and the grandma's over the top bonding attempts all make sense.
Omg! The actress who played Lindsay Lohan’s mom in The Parent Trap (Natasha Richardson) DIED IN A SKIING ACCIDENT!!!! 🤦♀️
omg that's terrible! i had no idea she died :(
And then she did this movie? Jesus.

you're glad a racist is back?
for those who don't know, Lohan: uses the n-word, called a Black man slurs before assaulting him, said "you must from Ghana" and spit on his face, she called a homeless Syrian refugee woman a child trafficker and attempted to kidnap her children, she yelled gibberish at her which apparently she thinks Arabic sounds like, she also carjacked some teenagers car while drunk and drove so erratically they were in fear for their lives, when she was caught she tried to blame it on a Black child. But it's good to know you all are "SO HAPPY SHE'S BACK". anti-Black racism is as american as apple pie so I'm not surprised

I think it's easier to just say she's playing her age, maybe a couple of years younger but mid 30's.
I think she was playing someone in their early 30s that acted like a spoiled teen because she hadn’t had to grow up.
I agree abt her face, I can't stop staring at it.
Let's just say she's playing 29 or 30 years old. Sierra is one of those spoiled types who matured late, and so she behaves more like she's 22.
@@ginanotafan1039 Lindsay Lohan is doing good now. Stop dissing her face, girl.
I’m just happy we all saw Tad and Ralph’s amazing chemistry 😂
two of my favorite out of work actors came together and made magic, the effectiveness of said magic is debatable but i love this lindsay renaissance
Why does Lindsey Lohan look exactly like Rose McGowan now? Are they using the same plastic surgeon?
😂😂😂😂😂
Oh my gosh, when you were talking about Lindsay's character falling down the mountain and how many people die in ski accidents, made me so sad to remember the beautiful mother in The Parent Trap, Natasha Richardson, unfortunately passed that way. Poor Queen. :c
I also remember one of your other Lindsay Lohan breakdowns, (maybe Teenage Drama Queen) where you mention she either always plays a normal girl or proper talker, and you are so right! Here she is being proper talker!

You missed a golden opportunity to use the term “mistletrope” which is what I thought you were about to say. Then my dreams were smashed.
Did anyone else think Sierra was gone for like weeks? The way time moves is not clear except for Tad and Ralph and we only see them like twice
I was floored when it was only for less than a week. Girl was hospitalized with a head injury and Jake immediately jump up and said "free labor!"

my suggestion to fix part of this movie would have been to have a friend of Tad follow Tad and Sierra up the mountain to record Tad’s proposal, establishing why Tad is a bad choice for Sierra.

I live in Germany and can confirm it is cold and heating has got so much more expensive.
The way I haven’t watched this movie on purpose knowing that Nick was going to cover it. Thank you! saved me an hour and a half of my life!
