THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU so much for not ignoring African history! I'm black British so find the European charts you make very interesting but am always sad that people igonor African history. It feeds the dangerous narrative that Africa had nothing going for it pre colonialism and the slave trade because of the bigoted assumption that Africa and its people couldn't look after themselves. As a Brit you are never taught any of this in school. I also studied history and classical studies at undergraduate level in the UK (before youtube was a thing) and it wasn't part of the conversation there which was considered completely ok. You have totally made my day! I've just subscribed! I really hope you will do more videos of African dynasties!
I mean, school curriculums tend to focus on what's relevant to its country's history. In Brazil, a western country founded by europeans, we don't see much of european history after the discovery of Brazil, when there's A LOT to talk about on this period.

It would be interesting to see how complete a line could be traced from ancient Kush to modern Abyssinia, or from Ancient Axum to modern Abyssinia, including Saba and Himyarites and Yemen.
Bro. Europeans started this notion that ALL dynasties attach themselves to bloodlines for legitimacy because that is what EUROPEAN monarchs did. Africa had a RICH oral tradition. The African mystery system was all oral. You used a European as an example of attaching to a bloodline. Of course. As I said. They started this idea.
Can you do a video on putting all the Australian political parties from left to right, if you want, i can help, but you are a genius i am sure you could do it.
As a black man of mandinka descent I am very disappointed that you claim there is no solid evidence that Mansa Abubakr did not reach the americas… there is a very strong line of evidence… and you got some of the facts about the hajj if you’re going to speak on a legacy your ancestors possibly helped destroy you have to get it right because him reaching America is the biggest key factor in black Americans history
Mansa Musa's mother if royal lineage. Her name was "Kanka", or "Gongo". That is why Mansa Musa is also called in West Africa Kankan Musa. His father was of the old and traditional clans of the Slves of the Crown.
I don't know why people keep saying that Mansa Musa was the richest person in history when it has been disproven? Firstly, his exact wealth isn't known, only an estimated range of what his wealth could have been based on stories about him. People often take the upper limit of his possible wealth when trying to make the point that he was the richest man to ever live. Secondly, even if we take his upper limit he still isn't richer than Chinese Emperor Zhao Xu (who was x75 richer than him) or Mughal Emperor Akbar the first (who was x52.2 richer than him).
Mansa Abu Bakr l was also known as Manding Bory. He and Abu Bakr ll are not the same person. Abu Bakr ll reigned for only two years (1310-1312) because he vacated the throne in order to travel to new land. He most likely didn't make it back home.
Wasn’t Solomon the richest man ever, long before Mansa Musa? The info supplied in the video, historically, how accurate is it ? It seems that this royal family line, is of Arab origin not African . Perhaps that was the reason for It being of such short duration to really influence the continent. What happen to all the riches ? Is there anything to show for it ?
Why begin Bilal ancestry with slavery? Seeing that he was ancestrally from aksumite Empire that ruled Yemen and Ethiopia the Horn of Africa from which empire gave birth to Fizz armies of mounted hundreds of African war elephants
I never knew that Mansa Musa was descended from the Quraysh tribe (yes, I did do some research on Bilal, and found that he came frim Banu Jumah, a clan of the Quraysh tribe).
Mansa Musa is not the definitive richest man in history. The source of that belief is erroneous. He was most likely one of the wealthiest people in history, but monarch's wealth is tied to that of the state. It is not the same as an individual's wealth. It is virtually impossible to accurately calculate the wealth of people that far back.
