Decluttering is something I love to do and in September I am doing the Minimalism game. I have a way of getting rid of over 500 things making a game of it!
Loved Julie’s books too. Wonderful video. As someone had already mentioned most manuals i can find online, faster than searching in my manual box. Credit cards have all 7 years of statements, so we got rid of those. Utilities have “payment history” and last 12 months usage for us to compare. I keep last 7 years of tax returns plus any other year when an asset was purchased and placed in service, in electronic format and paper copies.
Me too..wash , dry and replace...even if I don't put them back on the beds..life is simply too short to fold fitted sheets to perfection and/ or to worry about them not looking Pinterest worthy..you can be doing something more joyable with your precious time😊
I know I have way too many tools, I used to do a lot of woodworking and craft shows when I was younger, but I don’t need all the tools that I have. I did get rid of a box full of screwdrivers and wrenches and pliers and things like that, but I still have too many, I ended up with so many because one time we bought a whole box at an auction and it cost next to nothing. Being single now I recently got rid of half of my dishes. I didn’t need a setting for eight, most of the time I use paper plates for myself, but I figure 4 sets of plates is more than enough. If I have more than three people over besides myself I’m going to use paper plates anyway, and the chance of having more than three people over are slim to none?
I do one set of sheets. I don’t consider it minimalistic I consider it too lazy to fold sheets. I just wash them, dry them, and put them back on the bed. Sometimes it’s late at night and I think about sleeping on the couch, but I make it anyway. Granted this idea may not work if you don’t have laundry in your house, if you have to go to the laundromat or to a basement in an apartment complex that may be another story.
I really enjoyed listening to your thoughts and opinions on those organising decluttering and cleaning books. I liked how you have synthesised and eclectically used all of that wisdom and applied it to what is appropriate for you too. The no spend on clothing in 2024 is a very good thing indeed. For your wallet, and for the planet.

I hate folding a fitted sheet so I usually just wash the sheets and put it back on. I switch my sheets out every so often .
I saw Martha Stewart do it one time, i never liked folding fitted sheets either!

Just a tip i stopped keeping owners manuals, you can get them online. Saves lots of room.
Very true! Lots of owners manuals are only available online. My car is old enough to still have the old school one😊

Who is the author of the Clutter Control book you mentioned? That is a very nice top. Looks great on you!
I will look for the book and let you know!
Jeff Campbell of the clean team wrote clutter control, full name putting your house on a diet😊
Sparks joy is a good template. 22:17
