Happy birthday River. She is gorgeous 🤩 @@MoneyMindsetCoach3
Hi Valerie, thank you for the good video.
Thanks Pam!
THIS for THAT...
You have done very well!!! I declutter all the time, I think October first I will follow Sam from Tim's channel decluttering. Thanks for the video.
Glad you enjoyed it! Am starting a series in October called Organizing October😊
Thank you Valerie ☺️
Good Job.❤
❤
I'm back home safe and sound. Still having trouble with my Internet, thank you for the video 💯
I would give all away and stop buying junks
AMEN Sista!!! No husband and now no kids at home I can live my way :-)
Does make it easy doesn’t it?? Love it
This video is very neat! I haven't watched Dallas (I'm too young, I was born in the 2000's 🥲) How you talk about the show makes me want to watch it. I might try once I'm done with my exams 😊
That is awesome!! I actually think it is just a early Yellowstone really, only they have cattle and oil amd it is in Texas. They called it a primetime soap opera back then, i think there is a lot more if that now!
How big is that coffee cup, looks like a quart size of coffee!! Guess you like to drink a lot of coffee.🤔
Was it blue? It is big enough to be a soup mug. The lense may make it appear bigger also?
Hey Val, just happened upon your channel and I see you have 234 subscribers. Add one more, that is me. Interesting listening to a women my age and your thoughts. Don't have time to start at the beginning videos to learn more about you. I see you are 66 and single, not sure if you work or your financial situation but you seem to be doing fine. Funny to hear you talk about having a boy friend at age 66. I say the same thing but I have a girl friend. Sounds odd at our age. I use your channel and others our age to evaluate how I have done to this point in life.
I was married for 30 years, met my Significant Other on Match. I am glad you like my videos! I don’t like any of the names for someone at our age, i feel silly calling him my boyfriend at this age, never thought i would ever have a boyfriend again. Financially i am doing well. Should have started saving earlier for retirement but other than that i am ok. Thanks for watching😊
I'm getting rid of all the plastics from my kitchen i.e. lolly moulds, jelly moulds, salad spinner.
I am in the process of downsizing and have previously been the recipient of things that were my mother's, my aunt's, my grandmother's, and now my sister's. Some of these items (I am relatively certain) have value -- but, I have no idea how to research to find what their actual value might be. Any suggestions? No one else in our family is interested in these items -- so, it is up to me -- and I cannot hold on to these for future generations. Thank you!
There have been some things i have found in my boyfriends house and when i find something i google everything!
Great 👍 love this video. Last week, i turfed SO MUCH junk from our kitchen. Anything i hadnt used in at least a year got boxed up & donated.
Hi Valerie, I loved Dallas too, you look pretty like Ellie.
My parents survived and thrived during and after two World Wars in the UK. They taught me almost everything I know about frugality. Now in my mid-seventies, it would impossible to imagine living any other way, it is so ingrained. Being friends with those who do not share my lifestyle is impossible to sustain. If a friend wants to eat out multiple times a week, and is not satisfied to share picnics, things quickly become difficult. I do not need to shop other than for a few fresh items weekly, because I normally shop what I have on hand at home, bought on sale, at rock bottom prices, specifically WOW deals at Grocery Outlet Stores, Winco Bulk bins, and Amazon bulk dry foods. Almost everything else I purchase used, and in excellent condition at small 'none-chain' Thrift Stores, occasionally dollar stores. Even hygeine items can be purchased for pennies on the dollar on Senior Days at Thrift Stores. I buy materials and sewing notions for making gifts, and sometimes buy and refurbish treasures. Art Supplies are also inexpensive there, as is sheet music. I am always prepared for Special Occasions, and never shop last minute, or on impulse. I also have the ingredients to make soap, a gift that's always popular with everyone. Instead of taking holidays I take Days Out throughout the year, and have a Vintage RV I can use for overnight trips. I stick fairly close to home, because I have pets who need care. I go to the Dental School for my treatment, which saves me 30-40% over the cost of private dentists, which can save thousands. Most hospitals will write-off amounts not covered by Medicare if one earns less than $40,000pa. I drive an older Toyota in excellent condition, and maintain everything. Walmart has the best price on oil changes. Ins costs me $50.00 a month. I make it a point to make use of free entertainment, concerts, classes and events, and occasionally join groups who meet at the Museum. I tried the Senior Center, for a while, just not my cup of tea. Nature is free to enjoy with my dogs, and offers social opportunities. I continue to increase my skills, especially practical ones. Being a mindful and frugal Prepper is the best way I know to mitigate inflation and shortages, and allows me to support a couple of charities I feel passionate about. Live simply that others may simply live!
I love the japanese! I would love to go to Japan one day.
Me too! That is why i have a Japanese car!
You did a great job I just got back home. When will you be doing this again? Did you have horses? Thanks for the video.
My mom got a horse with an inheritance from her aunt the summer of 1973, the year Secretariat won the triple crown. Several years ago i worked at a horse rescue where one of secretariat’s grandsons was, his name was Marty. I was so privileged to take care of him! Have been a horse lover ever since that summer when i was 15❤️
I'm a horse Lover too 🥰
@@PamHaynes-oo3ck i do the minimalism game every September because it is called the 2nd January, with school starting and all. I have one more minimalism Monday to do! Them i start a series called Organizing October😊

In my area some of these companies are not reimbursing timely, so doctors are dropping patients on these plans.

I remember years ago my dad asked me when did I become so frugal! I thought that was funny 😂
Wow, Valerie! I'm definitely going to check out your store's website. There are several things you showed that I would like to buy!
Thank you Beverly! I have great bosses and i do enjoy working for them. It is a lucky person to like their job, like the people they work with and are appreciated by who they work for😊
I definitely need to play this game! I'm trying to downsize so we can move from our 3,000+ square foot home to a small 2-bedroom apartment in a retirement community.
This would be a good way to start!
I enjoyed this! ❤

Good video very helpful I cook a lot.
I have one of those neck pillows in my car. I’ve had a previous neck injury and it’s a great pillow for the car
Boring -:(
Yup. But it looks to me like most (say 80%) of females don't really get the earning side of saving. Very unfortunate. Not sure why, assume it's evolution of females seeking a provider rather than being a provider. As a male I was taught as a kid that it was up to me to earn. Never in the back of my mind was "Maybe I can marry a provider woman." Nah. Instead I was 100% focused 24/7 on bettering my earning, or more specifically on accumulating wealth. Don't know how that would get fixed. You're fighting human instinct. This isn't a US thing. I chat/date women in other countries which are much less wealthy than the US. Very capable women, college educated, but they struggle to pick high earning careers or understand how money even works. Some, that 20%, do figure it out and do super well.
Well done
I am a regular subscriber and viewer of your channel and I watch your videos regularly but I feel that if you fix some issues your videos can reach more people.

Hello, Thank you for the video. The wool socks are good when you are cold. Are they men's size ? I guess some man would appreciate them. Take care, 💚 love from Finland, Europe Tintti
Wow! Finland, thank you so much for watching! Those socks were on sale and i thought they looked so comfy but they were too small😌

ugh....people complain about sound, light, where you're looking. I don't care if you're staring at the ceiling, sitting in the dark. We're here to listen to what you're saying.
Thank you! I do take comments seriously.
Good morning Valerie, good job. Keep up the good work 💓💯
Thank you Pam!
You're welcome
I love your channel, I live within my means
@@PamHaynes-oo3ck like i said so many people in videos are telling people to live below your means when they are nowhere close to living within them! That is the place to get to first!
Some people are never happy and don't appreciate how much work creators put into their videos. I can't tell you how many creators don't look directly into the camera but if it bothers you that much, don't watch that channel! Sure it is nice to see creators look into the camera but it really doesn't make a huge difference in my opinion. Content is more important to me, but just my opinion. Quick question.... do you get any ss benefits off your ex's record? Sorry if that's too personal and understand if you don't want to share lol
Yes i do, basically i get half of what would come to him plus whatever mine is.
I noticed that you were looking at us, good job 👍
Thank you Pam!
I always do this challenge backwards...start with 30, then 29, 28, etc....I have more momentum when the number decreases. I've even just printed out a calendar and if I find 15 items one day, I cross off the 15th...22 items the next day, cross off the 22nd, etc. Keep up the great work!
That is an interesting way to do it!
Walgreens first Tuesday of each month 20 ,0/0 off for seniors

I told someone many years ago how much i make . The response from him was how do survive on that? I never like to say how much i make. Thanks for the message here.
Thank you!!
We always do the surveys on receipts from McDonald's and Culver's for their free food. I've stretched one bottle of shampoo to last me almost 13 full months by adding water to bring the bottle up to the full mark (which I marked before using it for the first time) every time I used it until it took almost a tablespoonful to get sudsy, then I used it all up. (I have a pixie cut so it doesn't take much shampoo to wash my hair!) I'd love to have a clothesline, but our homeowners' association doesn't allow them. We can be fined for drying our clothes outdoors here! By the way, Valerie, you're doing a great job of looking at us!! One of our money-saving moves takes advantage of my picky eating ... I always order my burgers and sandwiches PLAIN (meat, cheese and bread/bun ONLY), and I ask for the toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, etc.) on the side. We take that home, and my husband uses it on his homemade sandwiches or in his salads!
@@beverlybrejcha7858 i couod have a clothesline but just don’t know where i would want to put it, i have an unusual yard!
Yes it looks like you are looking at me. Great
Thank you!
Very encouraging!
This is the first time I’ve seen a video of yours. When you look at the WebCam, it does look like you’re looking right into my eyes. A lot of people that look at the camera sometimes look down or off to the side a little, but I suppose if they’re always looking somewhere else, it would not feel like they are engaging in conversation with me. My eyes are drawn to my face if I’m making a video and see my face. I think it’s because we want to feel like we’re looking at a face of a person when we’re talking. To engage with something that looks live because we are actually moving and our lips are moving. Maybe you could put a face on the WebCam with eye cut out and the camera lens in one of the eyes. Lol I’m just adding to this that I’m glad I found your channel. It looks like a wonderful ‘place’ to visit! I’m adding one more comment after I watched your video. I appreciate your honesty and explaining everything. It’s like talking to a friend. I can see why people don’t really care where you look. They just appreciate what you are sharing. I think you do whatever comfortable to you, but it shows what kind of a person you are to take peoples comments into consideration. Well, this is a long first comment. 😅 have a beautiful day and I hope the best for you.
This is very encouraging to me, thank you😊
You're off to a great start!
Thank you Beverly!
