The most expensive variant of this is SET is $450. Meanwhile Benchmades dumpster fire errr Narrows is $580. That’s truly hysterical.
Idk it makes sense to me if you understand how china devalues it's currency intentionally so their businesses can exploit the exchange rate with foreign sales to increase their GDP, they just undercut the market to get the sale and make massive profit off. Probably more profit than the narrows. I'm not justifying the Benchmade though they have always been a bit disconnected with their pricing in my opinion.
Almost like one is made in china with a 1% labor cost.

Are we to assume you don’t understand one was made under slave/near slave labor and another was produced in America with someone making $25-$30/hr. BM actually using steels from crucible/Bohler and not just making it themselves. Glad you can feel good with your cheap Chinese knife and scoff at American made. It’s honestly pathetic at this point. The thing is I think you probably do know better… the knife community is basically 95% American men 18-35 and every single video is bashing USA made companies…

This thing is sold out everywhere. I just got the Lamella about a month ago and the overall build guality and action is excellent. The design of this is actually very similar to the lamella, except with an Alien vibe to it and that awesome looking polished damasteel!

This is the first damasteel I've ever seen. Damascus blades look filthy to my eyes. This is just BEAUTIFUL! like something the Predator would slip into his dinner. Very cool!
I managed to pick one of these up at blade show for only $380! Definitely one of the coolest things I own! Also, what I was told, is the tool has a pry bar, bottle opener, glass breaker, and of course bit driver. They did have pens but those all sold out pretty quickly!

Hey MC, you reviewed the Alien 1 5 months ago. Alien 4 is beautiful imo. Titanium blade carrier is a cool touch. The Lamella uses the same basic design, length and shape are identical. Love my Alien 4, I tried to tell you about this knife about 4 years ago and then again when your Lamella review came out. The Alien 4 came out in 2020 I believe. The Alien 1 and 2 are all completely different designs, one of them is a Karambit (Alien 2) and another resembles a folding utility knife (Alien 1) not sure Alien 3 even exists I've never seen one listed anywhere. The Alien 4 comes standard with Damasteel. The 4 is by far the coolest. Weighs about half what the Lamella does, between the super thin blade stock, titanium blade carrier, and the heavily skeletonized handle, it's a feather weight. They make a timascus version with a blue ball bearing damascus blade, it's like $3,000. That blue damascus has a name but I can't remember it, think it's Dragon scale damascus or somting similar. Richard Wu owns Rike.
I could see why many wouldn't like the aesthetic, but man, this thing just screams quality with the materials, fit, and finish! Insane!
It looks cool in a particular "Alien v.s. Predator" way , but I would never buy something I'm not actually going to carry and use.
If you like it but want something more practical, the new lamella is amazing. They dont have a weird disassembly mechanism that is unsafe anymore. There is a switch on the back that you flip and thats it.

That blade finish is incredible.
Two questions...1: How thick is the blade stock (because it looks exceptionally thin)? and what is the process to make Damascus both mirror polished and with visible patterning? It seems like these two attributes are diametrically opposed.

I own this knife and always wondered if it's Damasteel or normal damascus, thanks for clearing that up! Although I still can't find anywhere that says which specific Damasteel (pattern and composition) it is... hope Rike could clear it up?
One other thing is I absolutely love this knife's hydrolic feeling when you open it, unbelievably smooth!
Yeah I agree, wish I knew the pattern as well cause it’s gorgeous, but as a person who has held many knives with Damasteel, mine looks a lot more like Damasteel than any 9-10cr Damascus you’d find on budget knives like Kansept or Artisan.

I have 2 of the Alien 4 knives and my numbers are low. They came out in 2019
The blade looks like you can change it out as easily as a utility knife. It my also have a box set of all the blade steels they have so you could have a every day blade. Which would be totally bad ass, and a first in the knife world.
Rike has a lot of insect like design's, pretty sure Richard Wu is a beekeeper as a hobby.

There is a blue Damascus and Timascus version also for around $3k, maybe BHQ confused the blade steel on the 2 versions.
Of course it it sold out. MC is right, thought. . You should respect the art because that was a lot of work and beautiful.
I’m right there with you, I don’t care for any of the individual design aspects of the knife, blade shape, skeletonization, flipper, size, Damascus, etc, but I really like this knife!
I'm a HUGE hr Geiger fan. Love the included tool. Wish the blade had less of a swoop but I'd still buy it
Also just to add...the blade obviously connected to rest of knife matches things like predators assembling weapons from dead alien parts. I have a cheapo pen with identical small driver system. This looks like alien finger. Usually I don't like sets cause they are cash grabs but this set is perfect

Gas station knife, except HIGHLY polished damasteel. Pretty sure that handle is cast/bead-blasted. Very cool looking knife! The tactical tool doesn't have Tritium inserts.

It doesn't even look like it was made by human beings. Not a big fan of Persian blades either, the only one in my collection is a a ZT 0462 but damn is that Alien 4 incredible looking.

Love it thanks for waiting to unbox it with us. Also not exactly my style but I literally love everything they do. In fact, some of my absolute fav knives in my collection are Rike. I get in arguments all the time with people that trash Chinese knives makers and while I love and own many American made knives, I 100% think that Rike are as good or better than any of the American companies and I will die on that hill. Bravo again Rike,please keep showing off…I love watching Metal get his face blown off ;-)
