For standalone the software OS is very clean, very functional, I liked it a lot, I use it mostly to play emulators (PSP, Nintendo 3DS, SNES) on a huge 120 inches VR screen since u can install android APKs on it without having to configure anything. Seeing videos on it, either standalone or wired makes you feel like you're on a cinema, both cause of visuals, comfort and the OS ability to easily copy and paste videos from PC, and I find myself doing it a lot and enjoying it a lot. I bought a BoboVR B2 pair of batteries and charging station, and I can extend the battery life by 8 hours+ without even feeling any weight in my head, which is great to taking it to trips and such. The only downside I see is the store and the content for standalone VR, people say it's not as good as quest, I can't say cause I never had a quest, but I played some simpler VR standalone games such as Angry Birds, Gun Club VR, and In Death Unchained with very good performance and smoothness.

You can increase the resolution of the Quest 2 games with a simple hack and it will look really clear - this shows that the limitation/bottleneck is not really in the screen resolution but the software output. By default most Quest 2 games use 1440p, if you increased it to 2048 - it looks like a new gen graphics. I am curious what resolution Pico 4 uses - I bet it is higher than Quest 2's default, that's why they don't support 120hz.
It's got the same processor as the quest 2. Therfore it can't be better quality. I need to know when drawing the boundary is it flat and flush to the ground? The quests always seems about a foot raised from the ground thanks
I’ve been using Quest 2 for PCVR since I upgraded from CV1. I’ve recently gotten into Luke Ross mods. Nathie, would you recommend the Pico 4 over the G2 for Luke Ross mods? I’m wondering if the pancake clarity wins out even after taking the compression artifacts into account. The main thing that gives me pause is that I use tethered link because I can’t stand the max bitrate of airlink. Gonna make my decision this week and would love if someone with a G2 and Pico 4 could give their opinion. Controllers don’t matter because I’ll be using the Xbox controller.
I have a Rift S and use lukeross mod for GTA V. I can say to you that the biggest letdown I have with PCVR at the moment is the lack of clarity. However, pancake lenses seem to make that issue much minor. Reverb G2 doesn't have pancake lenses so, the issue of the clarity is still there. So the best option you have is the Pico 4, the overpriced Quest Pro, or waiting for the Quest 3 or a valve headset (which might take a while).
After watching this, I can see why people are calling it a "Quest killer", it definitely seems to be! I really hope stuff like this becomes more available and more popular, this is the type of headset everyone should use!
Not moving on from Quest 2 until we get a PC compatible standalone headset with color pass through, face and eye tracking, foveated rendering, and full body tracking
I'm replacing my heavy Pimax 5K+ with this, and will sell it when next-next gen VR gets released, such as Valve's new HMD. For me the clarity, weight and Wi-Fi is a considerable upgrade. Tracking and replacing the Valve Index Controllers will be downgrade.
Well, don't sell your Quest 2 for that, the difference is not that great as far as I can see and the Quest 2 Game Lib is much better than that. Buy it if you don't own a headset..

@@darkcss1054 Thank you!! I'll be ordering it tomorrow :))
@@Something-nh5ds you won't regret. It's one of the best purchases I ever made. If you want tips on my PCVR streaming setup hit me up, it gets a stable 1200 Mbps+ connection which is great.
It isnt a quest killer. People say quest is dead before launch but gets 15 million players usually. Quest is alittle front heavy, but the cameras and controllers are amazing
It looks really good the only thing I really hate is the controls if I play games like VR chat you cannot point in the game it all
The UI looks very similar to oculus quest 2, I got my quest for £299, which is good, if I haven’t of bought it yet, I would’ve probably picked the pico, as the quest is now £399, and other cool features to reason, but I’m glad I went with the original quest,
Ok the headset is cool and all but what is the little shark thing in his pc? It's adorable and I must have it lol
Can you add a link to the adapter that you used to be able to plug head phones up to it?
You can increase the resolution of the Quest 2 games with a simple hack and it will look really clear - this shows that the limitation/bottleneck is not really in the screen resolution but the software output. By default most Quest 2 games use 1440p, if you increased it to 2048 - it looks like a new gen graphics.
I am curious what resolution Pico 4 uses - I bet it is higher than Quest 2's default, that's why they don't support 120hz.
How do I do that?

What was the thing you click-baited us three days ago on Twitter about? I'm left slightly annoyed by it.
it was mainly the strap not fitting me well at all
@@nathie Ok thank you. Hope they release a better face shield. Overall this is an amazing design and engineering.
I just hope this thing gets released to the US sometime soon like maybe around December maybe or maybe January 1st of 2023?
irrelevant but that shirt is so nice dude. chrome hearts? also subbed!
I got a question ! how many fingers can you control with the controller ? is it like the index or the quest ?
Like the Quest
@@Olelumos Thanks!
Nathie do you aware about playing pc games with no pc required on the quest2 next years ? your room is awesome by the way 😐
Looks cool, but I still want a Quest 2 for christmas
It's got the same processor as the quest 2. Therfore it can't be better quality. I need to know when drawing the boundary is it flat and flush to the ground? The quests always seems about a foot raised from the ground thanks
I was the 500th like c: . also since this is the same company that originally made tiktok, is there anything concerning in the terms of service?
Can you use hand tracking to go through the options like the quest 2??
yes u can
@@PeanutLover11 thanks for informing me 👍
@@michelverheijen6643 yes
@@michelverheijen6643 I rewatched the video and saw it thanks lol 😂
Thanks forte video, can you give the name & reference of the adapter audio usb-c? Pls (link Amazon maybe)
honestly, unless Meta lowers Quest 2 price, I don't see any reason to pay more for having less, so I suppose Quest 2 sales are gonna crash down
I’ve been using Quest 2 for PCVR since I upgraded from CV1.
Do you feel motion sickness?
After watching this, I can see why people are calling it a "Quest killer", it definitely seems to be! I really hope stuff like this becomes more available and more popular, this is the type of headset everyone should use!
Natie, I noticed the strap looks similar to meta quest 2, is the strap removable, thanks
Let me answer that: Sadly not, but when I tried it it felt really sturdy. So I have no fear that it would break.
Not moving on from Quest 2 until we get a PC compatible standalone headset with color pass through, face and eye tracking, foveated rendering, and full body tracking
Have fun waiting 60 years
@@tinybionic8940 probably like 3-5 years
Hi Nathie, can you please confirm if Echo Vr (Arena) is playable on the Pico 4 via Virtual Desktop please, thankyou very much
Are the visuals better though? The quest 2 is hell with the ‘god rays’ and limited areas of focus
Honestly I'm still gonna get quest 2 beacasue there might be games that's applab and is not available to play on the pico neo 4
in thinking about selling my quest2 to buy the pico 4, should i do it?
If the Pico in not available in the US as a VR developer I would be limiting my market reach
Will it be coming to Australia?
I have no idea
I'm replacing my heavy Pimax 5K+ with this, and will sell it when next-next gen VR gets released, such as Valve's new HMD. For me the clarity, weight and Wi-Fi is a considerable upgrade. Tracking and replacing the Valve Index Controllers will be downgrade.
Wow i am vere excited
Can you get this in the USA ? Also will if you do will it work in the US
Well, don't sell your Quest 2 for that, the difference is not that great as far as I can see and the Quest 2 Game Lib is much better than that. Buy it if you don't own a headset..
My birth day is in 20 days i really really want my first vr headset and im thinking for a wile that i want a piko 4 but i still dont know what would you do
Can I connect headset to pc via USB 3.2 cable and play simulators or only way is wifi6?
Probably good competition, not a Q2 killer (= clickbait). Whenever Pico ships to Australia I may give one a go.
Could be waiting forever.. I'm in Australia and my PICO-4 should be turning up in a week or so. 700AUD not too bad.
@@PRiMETECHAU Where did you buy it from? Thanks mate and cheers.
@@tomc1380 Several sellers on Aliexpress are selling them at competitive prices. Just make sure they have some decent feedback and aren't a brand new seller. Mine cost 724AUD but there are some for slightly cheaper. I've never had any issue with AE except for some water pumps I've bought that had bad seals.

@@nathie thanks so much much I appreciate the response 🤝
But Pico won't have the licenses that meta has for the games tho right?
