    For anyone interested, the motherboard listed in the video description needs a BIOS update to work with the 3200G. If you are interested in buying those parts, please bear that in mind.
    If you don't have access to an older Ryzen CPU I would suggest specifically buying a B450 motherboard that comes with a Ryzen 3000 compatible BIOS out of the box.

      @zackteach 4 года назад +1

      @@DawidDoesTechStuff I almost did an SLI build back in my first "custom" PC. "custom" meaning I picked the parts on Cyberpowerpc.com. It was back in early 2011 right when SATA-6 and USB 3.0 hit the scene and they were available on motherboards when I was picking things out, but they were at a more premium price point at the time so I missed out on that for the build, due to my lower budget.
      I was originally planning to go with a SLI set up of dual NVidia GT 450's. THANKFULLY a friend intervened who knew at least A LITTLE better and advised me to go with a more powerful primary card and a dedicated Physx card at a lower budget price point. So I went with a GTX 560 Ti and an RT 430 (The highest I could afford at that swap out).
      So I was buckled down a little by no SSD and being on the now previous gen-data transfer rate. But still, it performed ok. I had it up til 2017. It performed great at first, for sure. But over time, the slow down was BRUTAL.
      I built my own for realsies in 2017 :D Ryzen 1600x, GTX 1070, 16GB 3000 MHZ, ASRock Fatal1ty Gaming K4 Motherboard, 250 GB Western Digital SSD 2.5mm, 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm HD, 550W Rosewill Glacier PSU, DYI-PC-48PBK or something case, 212 Hyper Evo CPU cooler. It was 1230 dollars after all was said and done. It STILL handles Overwatch on 1440p at Ultra settings at 144 FPS steady with 72c temp and about the same for the CPU. I did manage to upgrade to an EVGA GTX 1080 SC model from a Craigslist deal (got it for 350, then turned around and sold my PNY GTX 1070 Overclocked for 325). So only 1 upgrade, but that 1070 was a freakin beast and I bet it'd be almost as good even with that.

    Nice comparison! Custom builds are always the answer, but just wondering why you decided to ditch the Deepcool? I’ve built a couple of pc’s now in the Matrexx 30 and have really liked how they’ve turned out. It is on the cheaper side and a bit cramped inside, but at $30 I think they are fantastic value for the money.

    • @joannaatkins822
      @joannaatkins822 4 года назад +1

      Personally I'm on the fence about the Matrexx 30. I've found that their stamped panels are sometimes off by a significant margin, and the PCI-E slots are poorly aligned with the motherboards slots.
      Trying to get an HDMI cable to plug into the top slot requires manually crushing or removing the curved stamped metal piece (only the top slot mind), which leaves it looking ugly and unprofessional.
      There are many positives of the case though, but alignment is the major issue.

    I did build a comparable desktop in April 2019 with a Ryzen 3 2200G, 16 GB DDR4 (3000 MHz), Asrock B450 HDV 4.0 motherboard. I reused a 128 GB SSD, 500 GB and 1 TB HDDs. In November I replaced the sata-SSD by a 512 GB SP nvme-SSD (3400/3000MB/s). In total I spend without transport costs and tariffs $350. I'm not a gamer, my hobbies currently are Virtual Machines, so I have all Windows releases (including NT, except 8) and all Ubuntu LTS releases starting with 4.10 :)
    The Host OS is Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and it runs from the ZFS filesystem. I love the current performance. Linux VMs boot in ~10 seconds and the Windows 10 VM in ~35 seconds (real boot, no wake-up from hibernation/suspend). I probably will do a mid life upgrade in 2021 or 2022 with a 6- or 8-core Zen 2 or 3 APU :)
    The black Midi-Tower came with a 600W power-supply for DOP 1500 (US $30) and I bought it locally in Santiago de los Caballeros, since transport costs would at least have doubled the US prices. The power-supply is old fashioned with 24 + 4 pins for the motherboard and 2 SATA and 2 Molex plugs. I don't worry too much about that iTech power-supply, because the PC only needs ~150W and it is protected by a 1200 Watt Avtek Surge Protector :) The case has a lot of space for HDDs, looks really nice, but the metal is a little bit thin. The power on light is a small blue led strip above and right of the power button and it turns red, if the disks are active. I love that small stupid detail :)

    This trend of putting on screen long text info for the tiniest amount of time is really infuriating. Do you really expect people to rush and pause the video every time and not get angry if they miss the 0.5 seconds window and then have to manually rewind and wait for the text to appear again and pause it just to read it?
    Seriously, stop it.

      Woulda been the first thing I did if I bought this, and that is an if. When I was building my 1000 dollar rig I freaked out when I started researching power supplies by the views, my original budget was around 60 bucks but I ended up buying a 100 dollar EVGA because I was afraid of it exploding in my build.

      Lord Krazus just built my rig with a Corsair 650 watt for 50£ and earlier it cut out earlier and now I’m wishing I spent more it’s been fine since though lol 😂

    I realize you're constrained by your budget here but I've had to RMA that power supply in the past. It died after about 5 weeks in a budget build I did. Stay away from EVGA's cheap power supplies (in my opinion)! Their higher end stuff is pretty good though. I actually own about a dozen EVGA products.
    Dawid I just recently discovered your channel and I really enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work!

    I have the H18 and have had it for about a year and a half now and I can say that it is about as easy to build in as it is to breath and it looks good with good airflow in the front

    Because there's some really good music you used in this video and I'm interested in finding it and more like it.

    G'day Dawid,
    I helped my nephew build a PC last weekend, he chose the Versa H18, in Australia it has a Steel Side Panel with Perspex window & no TG option,
    It has really good for cable management for a budget case & would definately recomend it over the H17 as they are thesame inside but it does have a Mesh Front so much better Airflow
