      Thank you so much :-) It was heaps of fun to paint these awesome figures and put them into a diorama. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. Much appreciated!

    Didnt know where you were going with the crazy paint scheme for junk yard. After wash and dusty top coat, everything came together and sold the look. Very Cool!

      Thanks very much :-) I'll admit I was a bit concerned myself, haha, those rust colors were a little overpowering. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. It's much appreciated!

      Thanks very much, Joe :-) I had a lot of fun with this one. I hope we get to see more of the series, once the dust settles in Ukraine.

    Great figures and an excellent diorama beautifully improvised from just a box-art picture. I would never have thought of that but now you have done so it just seems so natural.
    These are getting cooler and cooler. You'll have to do a tour of your model display at some point.
    Take care!

      Thanks very much, Alon :-) These figures are awesome, and I'm slowly learning that the more time one spends painting them, the better they look. I still need a lot of practice, but hopefully someday I'll be able to do the figures justice. The diorama was heaps of fun to do. I just kinda let go and dropped things in all over the place. That's a great idea, doing a display tour :-) I'd have to call it "The good, the bad and the ugly", though, haha. Some of the older builds might need to be re-visited! Have you ever met the folks at Hobby Link International? They have a nice You Tube channel and a great forum filled with guys who build the same types of kits which we do. And it has the same kind of vibe that Google Groups used to have, back in the day. Thank you very much for your kind words, and for taking time to check out the video. I always look for your comment first :-) It's been a mad week at work, though - lots of folks going on vacation over Christmas, so coming in for early re-fills of their prescriptions. In cowboy vernacular, I've been plum tuckered out each evening, but it's a good (albeit non-productive) weariness. Things should start slowing down after Christmas. I hope you're getting a chance to take it easy, though. It's definitely the silly season!

    Hi Trevor. Enjoyed following your informative builds, I keep learning something new each time. Looking forward to your next build. BTW, I sent you two e-mails regarding a state machine project we had exchanged e-mails on am hoping you still have the information on hand. Be Healthy and Be Safe.

    Hi can I ask what size paint brush you use for the small details. Thank you

    • @OstrichLongneck
      @OstrichLongneck  3 года назад

      Hi Selina, I'm a bit weird, as I do most of my painting with a number 2 brush. I have a great Kolinsky sable brush that has kept its point for about 2 years now, and it's good enough to pick out most of the smaller details. But for small, tight areas, such as belt buckles, I sometimes use a size zero brush, and for something like eyes, a 000 brush (or I cheat and use a 0.3mm fine-liner when my confidence levels are low, haha!) Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. It's much appreciated!

    Looks great. I have Natie, but I have other ideas for a diorama for that figure.
    I love your fallen robot diorama. It also reminds me of the Astro Boy animated movie that came out in the 2000's.

      Thank you very much! I see Natie was the lucky recipient of a Chevy Impala on your channel! The rusty junkyard was a fun diorama to make! Thank you for your kind words! They are much appreciated!

      @@OstrichLongneckThose 2 videos are coming up this week and next. I hope you will tune in for them.
      I want to make more of those Master Box figures now. I try and see which ones you have done on your channel.

      @@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage I've clicked the bell to make sure I don't miss them! I'm a big fan of Master Box figures. You can't go wrong with them. I have the whole Skull Clan series, too. It's a pity they're 1:35, though. They would look great with that Impala!

    • @MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage
      @MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage Год назад

      @@OstrichLongneckFor sure. It's like the figures from ICM - I want to get a whole bunch of the 1910 series, but there's all the 1/35th scale figures that would add to them, but ICM doesn't make them all in 1/24th scale. - also, it would be awesome if Mini Art scaled up their massive 1/35th scale accessories kits to 1/24th. Barrels, metal lathes, grocery carts...that would be awesome!

    • @OstrichLongneck
      @OstrichLongneck  Год назад +1

      @@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage So true! ICM is in a class of their own, though. Their details are magnificent. It's so true what you said about the scales, though. I, for one, would love to create 24-scale dioramas with heaps of figures and accessories! There just aren't much of them, unless one goes over to the dark side an invests in a 3D printer, I guess 😒

    I got the Vietnam soldiers figures it looks so badass and realistic but, I don't want to sound too political. You think those figures going to stop producing cuz I really worry about the company cuz they got some really badass figures,?

      Master Box is based in Dnipro, and that was shelled heavily quite early on in the war on Ukraine. But I see their website is up and running again, so I'm holding thumbs that they are still in business and producing awesome figures for us 😀 I have built a lot of models of aircraft from all over the world which I consider to be beautiful machines and magnificent feats of engineering, even though I might not agree with the ideologies of the pilots who fly them. So I say you should go ahead and build those badass figures, and have fun creating the most awesome diorama you've ever done!

      Thanx very much, Oron :-) I'm still trying to master those figure-painting skills, but the diorama was a lot of fun to do!
