    Thanks, Nascar, for posting the race so quickly after it was live! It seems I cannot get logged in to USA due to who provides my subscription. I went to NBC Help and got a ridiculous laundry list of things to check. I was NOT happy with NBC/USA!

      Fun bit of nostalgia, the CART series in the 90s had a bonkers open wheel chassis for the era, of which the oval track package was sporting 900+hp in low downforce trim. Those cars hit 240 on this track.

    Kyle Busch would have won in the old cars. Michigan is a great example Nascar that you DON'T need restrictor plates anymore at Daytona and Talledega! The drivers know how fast they can push their cars. At least at Michigan they were able to pass more and make it more exciting!

    Please NASCAR be able to adjust starting times to avoid weather. Crowd was electric to only be able to see one stage and then get postponed. I understand wanting TV viewers but damn, the people that paid to be there and get hosed when you could’ve started earlier would’ve been great. Track experience > Television.

    Can anyone explain why the racing here hasn’t reverted back to how it was before they repaved the track when they could run anywhere from the top to the bottom instead of this mainly single middle groove I would think it’s been long enough already maybe a new kind of pavement any ideas why?

    • @harrygreene5571
      @harrygreene5571 2 месяца назад

      The Aero is not even close to what it used to be! They will stay in the middle'ish until they figure it out. I.E. Hamlin spins due to lack of understanding of the aero. Ignore the commentators, they get it in the last five seconds of the Hamlin spin commentary but aren't convinced. Fact: Hamlin has good aero and a run going into the corner, and so he pushes into the corner, temporarily losses aero, and over corrects resulting in a spin. They are still learning this package with this track. IMHO.

    • @C-M-E
      @C-M-E Месяц назад +1

      Short answer, loose is grip-related, free is setup related (mainly suspension, though that applies to loose to a degree like corner weight, spring rate, camber). Other than tires and changing the braking balance, loose is easier to tune around. Free is like having a steering wheel that goes wherever it wants without control in the corners.
