  • Indians are just 1.5% of the US population but are punching way above their weight...
Members of the Indian diaspora are roughly 1.5% of the US population... at approx 5.1 Mn people
👉🏼 60% of all hotels are owned by Indians... contributing USD 700 Bn in hotel revenue
👉🏼 11% of the Unicorns are founded by Indian founders
👉🏼 10% of the physicians in the US are of Indian origin, serving 30% of all patients
👉🏼 10% of the US patents filed in 2019 have an Indian co-inventor
👉🏼 ~6% of all US taxes are contributed by them - almost 4 times their population size
👉🏼 78% of them have a bachelor’s degree or higher, way above the national average of 36%
👉🏼 28 out of the 34 Scripp’s Spelling Bee champions are Indians (82%)!!!!
👉🏼 4.4% of the senior public service posts are held by Indians
👉🏼 16 of the Fortune 500 companies have Indian CEOs
👉🏼 Indian households contributes USD 1.5 Bn to philanthropy in 2023
And it’s the one race of people with the highest annual per capita earning compared to any other race in the US, beating the Korean, Chinese, SE Asians, Africans, Mexicans and every one else.
And here’s the kicker... despite the above...
30% of the NRIs now say that they would consider moving back...
It’s for the feeling of being around family, beating loneliness, getting the comforts of domestic help...
And the number of NRI friends who’ve visited India over the past two years and conveyed shock at how much their Indian friends are making in our country (clue: much higher than their expectation)
They say they wish they can gather the courage to wrap it all up in the US and come back to apply for an equivalent salary in an Indian company...
It’s the economic growth and opportunity that makes all the difference.
And you’ll be shocked to see the number that’ll be returning over the next decade.

Agreed..if someone got the passport by birth..agreed..but lot of good brains moved for better opportunities and life..because India is a developing country. We don’t have that much infrastructure like US. Hope those intelligent people will come back to India and support in growth of India.
