    Hello Barbara, thank you for this lovely video. I must just say something about the keys to remove the cable from the needle. I got stuck once because I couldn´t find the key to remove a cable once and my mum said "use a pin", after doubtfully looking at her, I did and lo and behold, it worked. Since then, I haven´t been scared about not having a key because a pin or a safety pin, work exactly the same....... and everyone has a saftey pin at home! The necklace is great! It´s a great idea!!!!

      Excellent tip! Safety pins are great to have around. And moms are usually right about things LOL.

      Yes, and Paperclips work, and needles with the right diameters, wire which is thin and strong works,... I've got my little key at my neclace and so it's allways with me. Another one I made firm on a stitchmarker and so it's never lost. When I begin to knit a new project I allways put a key with a stitchmarker to the project's first few stitches and you though you get more than one key with a set , or one with every cable you'll haeve enough of them to have one at every projekt. My friends smile at me because of the needlekey on my neclace first but after a while they know why I do so. You can put it on your housekeys e. g. or somewhere else whre it's with you when you need it. We women aren't as silly as some people may think, we find places so we can knit and change wherever and whenever we want. Tren't we?

    I purchased the 4 inch Ginger set. The case is red/brown instead of blue. I made an Afghan that had a lot of cables so I purchased the magnetic necklace to hold my cable needle. It sure helped keep track of that needle!
    My size 3 and 4 needles both broke on the tip when I was casting on. My LYS did replace them, because it was within a year. Just an FYI to be careful with the smaller needles.

    Thank you for the reviews. I’d been wondering about the new Gingers. I love the case, so much nicer than the plastic one with my Knitters Pride/knitPro interchangeable set. And I love the necklace! Awesome idea, that might’ve saved me from losing my fave marker down the vent on my car’s dashboard. 😱 Pitfalls of car knitting I guess. I lusted after Zings last year, but ended up with Chiagoos, which I do like. I did get the Zings DPN set since I didn’t have any, and find the tips much less dangerous for me. Now I’m feeling the need for a good wood set! 🤔

    You not only showed your new fantastic set but you entertained me so much ! Thank you! You're wonderful and your ideas to use different things for others remind me on me myself. You are a great person all in all! God bless you, my sister! I'm from Germany and I have Karbonz, Options, Synfonies, Natures, Acrylic and the Royals . Only the Royals aren't as well as all the others to ME, because of the little hole at the tips that scratch a little bit with the other needle. May be one can become familiar with this, me not really. When I'm able to hold my Royals a bit more rolled I don't notice it, but I don't want to put my eyes on the tips doing it right.I just wanna knit and that's fine with all the others. If they cme to Germany I'll buy one needle size and when it's way better than one of mine I'll buy the set. They lok very similar to the Nature set, but my cables are with shiny ends as the needles, too. Yours, in black, with brown cables, look great! Be blessed!

      @WatchBarbaraKnit  5 лет назад +1

      Thank you so much for your kind words! I am so glad you enjoyed the video. I was unfamiliar with the Royals and looked them up - I can totally see how the hole could be annoying, but I am intrigued by the wood/metal combo. All the best!

    • @ConnyNordlicht
      @ConnyNordlicht 5 лет назад

      @@WatchBarbaraKnit a lot of people write that wood and metall don't fit together. I had only 3 needles which weren't knittable (at all 32 needles incl DPNs). But , yes, it can be. It's the same with Karbonz. When ok, they grab the yarn a bit more than wood. But the wonderful tip makes worth it so much! These I use when in former times I thought to need Royals. My Royals so sleep the whole time - unused! I filled them up from 3,0 mm short and long to 15,0 mm and bought the DPNs. For nothing. I'd like to sell them away to a person who would use it. They all are fine where tip goes to the needle. I prooved it hard!

    Love your channel, just found it today. You are so cheerful and animated and full of personality, make it both fun and informative to watch.
    I'm sure Knitter's Pride is very happy with your demo video. I have a Knitter's Pride set of bamboo needles which I like very much. If it wasn't that another knitter said that "Hey, you can knit with two circulars and just use one size smaller on the other end. Your stitches come out the size of the needle you knit with." -- I might have decided I had to have another set to do two circular knitting. Wonderful idea for hats with bulky yarn, made several this winter season and glad not to have to had invested in other needles to afford yarn.
    RE Vegan: The more we save the Earth, is good for all of us. It just shows me that Knitter's Pride has their hearts in the right place. And I try to eat with a conscience as my husband had cancer so we both eat this way now so he does not have a reoccurrence. We've both lost weight but that was not the object, it was avoiding the cancer.

Here’s a funny as in funny “odd”: Gerber was trying to sell their jar baby food and was selling it as here, with a picture of a baby to indicate it is food FOR a baby. In Africa, no one was buying their product as they thought the food WAS BABY! Literacy ... we take it so much for granted.

My lace projects kept slipping stitches so I switched to a knitters pride bamboo needle. I also have one set of knitters pride wood dreamz circular needles. The keys for those cables run away very far to another universe. I did see on another knitting RUclipsrs channel were you can use those metal lightbulbs shaped safety pens instead of those keys. I tried it out and it does work. Also, you’re adorable in this one! Your personality just jives with me so well. I really like that magnetic necklace. I might have to look into getting one of those. i've always been a crocheter but have been interested in knitting for a while now. I've always knitted on metal needles because that's all i had 😅this set of wooden needles looks beautiful and i love the amount of things it comes with but i've also looked into the zing needle set as well since they're metal. I've done some research and apparently wooden needles feel more "grippy" than metal needles do and i'm a bit worried that could be a problem since i'm used to the slippyness of the metal ones. since you use both i wanna ask if the feeling is that much different and which ones you prefer more and have continued using? by the way, you are an absolute joy to listen to and you made this review very entertaining for me to watch, thank you! ☺

    that actually would be a great idea to add in the set a couple of "stitch markers"with the needle sizes available in the set engraved in it, so you could put it on the cable before putting the stopper and using your needle for another project.

      So I first thought, too! But when you think of höw many different range and different longth of your needles it is , you see you've got more than 70 different needles with this one AND THEN you can make one with 2" and the other one is e.g.6" etc... I never needed another one since I've got a komplet set! And I can park my begun project, unscrew the needles, put a new cable on the needles and make another one! I bought some cables more and I can work as many, as long and as made with big or smallest yarn I want. After a while it begins to be cheaper as if you allways have to buy new needles in good quality. See the very fine quality that makes you love knitting, with no pain on your hands! 8ait 1/2 a year and lay money aside, then the get cheaper and then: get it!!! It's worth it, I swear if you want! I'm handicaped and have very less money but it's worth every single cent/dollar! Really! You'll see knitting goes faster and easier and you'll have allways with you what you need. Please, think twice, this time! Be blessed!

    Vegan leather is a faux leather
    Artificial. There are three types two are made of plastic PU n PVC. There are also plant leather which is better for the environment. Like they use pineapple leaves.or fruits and vegetables. Hope this helps

    Hi Barbara! Thank you for your review. Do you think other Knitter’s Pride needles will work with the ginger cords? My 3.25mm needle snapped and I’d rather get a KP needle from a different set to save some money than get another ginger 3.25mm. Thanks!

      I think they all work interchangeably, but I would suggest you write them to find out for sure.

    I’m looking at getting my first “nice” interchangeable needle set. Looking at zings, gingers, and a couple of others. What are your favorites?

    • @WatchBarbaraKnit
      @WatchBarbaraKnit  5 лет назад

      It really is up to personal preference. I really love my Zings for metal and the Gingers are great as a wooden needle.

  • @jteagle5

    I have 4 interchangeable sets. I cannot seem to lock them down using the key to tighten the needles to the cord. The only set I have no problem with is the Denise Interchangables b/c they lock in, but the cord is so thick. It has been so frustrating.

      I totally understand. I find my knitting style tends to unscrew them.

    Do the cables in this set/brand allow for "safety lines"? After learning the hard way about those I've been looking for the needlles/sets that let you add it as you knit the row.

      The connector did come with the kit. As I stated in the video, the set was sent to me to review. So I don't know how much they cost, also, it's been a few years so the price might have changed since then!

    Are knitters pride affiliated with Lykke needles? They look exactly the same?

    • @WatchBarbaraKnit
      @WatchBarbaraKnit  6 лет назад +2

      I don't think so. And I think that the Lykke are lighter in color

    • @an-alechianeathery770

      I think it differences in type of wood that both wood. The Lykke is made from Driftwood, the knitters pride I think is made from the laminate wood that use for the dreamz needle.

    ...sorry but I am cracking up ...you are sticking all these sharp things aimed at your neck and say when one dropped that if it was stuck on the necklace I would not have to pick it up ...because the cable needle just stabbed me and calling 911 ...great fun and I purchased a set of Knit Picks laminated interchangeable needles ...even if you can't knit you should have a set

    • @WatchBarbaraKnit
      @WatchBarbaraKnit  6 лет назад

      LOL. I wouldn't actually wear the necklace that short but I wanted it to be in the frame of the video. And the needles aren't really all that sharp. Knowing where they are is better than sitting on one!

    The term ‘vegan leather’ describes several material alternatives to animal-based leather. These materials look, feel, and have the same attributes as leather, however, without having to sacrifice animals in the making. Vegan leather is often made from polyurethane, a polymer that can be made to order for any designer's whim. It can also be made from innovative and sustainable materials such as pineapple leaves, cork, apple peels, other fruit waste, and recycled plastic and used to create products that put animal skins to shame.
