Great video and a lot of memories. I remember this show. I'm the tall guy in the middle in the black Embalmer shirt. My friend (to my right) and I used to go to all of the Acid Bath shows around Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, etc. We were very fortunate to see them many times. One of the best ever
I've always been of the opinion that the true measure of a band is how good they sound live. This sounds SO good, even recorded through a shitty VHS camcorder mic, that I really have trouble comprehending what it would have been like to be in that room that night. They really were that fucking good.

Oh my god I hadn't even searched for live Acid Bath for a few months because I thought I'd seen it all... but this is... this is magic. I can't imagine what it would be like to stumble into that bar that night having never heard of them and then them kicking right into Paegan Love Song....hearing Dax draw you in with that beautiful haunting Anselmo-esque voice then smashing you in the face with that ball-tingling scream while the band just pummeled and droned straight into your brain. It would be close to a religious experience for me.
I saw them on this tour in Atlanta. Never heard them before. It was a life changing experience. Saw them one more time in Panama City a couple weeks before Audie died. I’m so happy to have those memories.

@@ariwebrat3233 This is incorrect, 'classic' sludge is faster gritty doom + hardcore elements, this is all that + clear death metal elements and partial clean vocals, which are very unusual in sludge as a genre still to this day (not counting Crowbar, another unique band), sometimes having a gothic atmosphere, Acid Bath is not classic sludge in any way.
Sammy told me one time that they went to the record company in L.A. to ask them why they weren't getting royalties.. They were escorted out of the building by security. He said that they knew they were being ripped off because they would play a bar with a full crowd. Everyone would be singing the songs so they know they were selling. This band could have been HUGE if the record company would have been worth a shit.
David Richard that’s fucked up. I have seen them a few times. This is the most music I have ever seen on here from them. Scream of the butterfly was all I could ever find. We saw them before they were touring. Playing little venues with all us high school kids in the audience. Best ever!!!! So underrated.
"Just like a raindrop.. I was born, baby, to fall... and scale these prison walls" Bleed Me an Ocean 41:20 is a classic. What a band and what a voice. OKC had some great shows come through back in the day. Thank you for sharing!
This band got done the dirtiest deal ever, shitty record company, death of band member, forever underground/never made it big like they deserved. A tragic but almost poetic story for such a sinister band

@@sebastianzax-gadara4958 The Asylum club was sold a few years after Acid Bath was there and turned into a hip hop club, it burned down soon after. It was leveled and an h&h gun range was built on the site. I was at the show. I have the flyer from it but I'm not sure how to upload it here.

Happened to me in 94. The Handlebar in Pensacola. My buddy and I decided to go see a show on a Friday night. Was blown away. Changed my life.

It was technically in Del City. It was a small venue called Asylum. I believe the building is still there, but it's something else now.
