Always love when you discuss this topic. Geo arbitrage is a beautiful thing.

Nicaragua is a special place! It’s hard to explain. I mean I get emotional when I left the country back to the country every time.

It's very true. I find it very difficult to explain what things are really like here.

I know this is an older video, but i just found it and wanted to comment my experience.
Ive been searching for remote/wfm/freelance jobs that can be done "traveling". Are there legit jobs? Of course. Is finding that information easy? No. It is increasingly difficult to sift through the bogus "jobs". All everyone talks about is digital or creator type jobs. Which is fine.....but is far from the only options. I think people want real world examples. Like yours that you talk about in later videos, we'd like others. We want to hear from the nurse whos in telehealth in Mexico. Or the engineer whos a remote consultant in thailand. Or the travel agent whos home is now in Honduras. I know i want to hear how people made this a reality, how they thought outside the box and made it work Etc. When youve done nothing but worked for corporate America its hard to imagine what all is out there. I know its been a learning process for me. Im starting to take classes to improve my skill set. I just had to find that example that made me think "oh, i didn't think of that. I could learn that! " So, i am. 😊

Same problem with "in person" jobs too. All the job posting sites are scams ultimately. Even 20 years ago when I was a published author about hiring practices, we would say that 80% of job postings even back then, were fake!

Thanks for another great video Scott. I'm very lucky in that I was working remotely before I thought I'd want to move somewhere else. I work for a software company where about half of the employees work from home.

Scott a great way to support the channel is with lightning payments with Bitcoin.

You are literally the only person I've ever spoken to that knows what that is. I tried to look into it and it's so unclear what that is. There is a reason no one is using Bitcoin in normal life, it would be sensible for so many things but the effort to make a transaction is absurd. I put some time into it, but was just lost.

@@ScottAlanMillerVlog - It is all good Scott and I appreciate you putting some time into it. We are very similar in many ways as I am been in IT for 25 years but now just manage investments and crypto, especially bitcoin. I know from listening to many of your podcasts you worked in the investment arena for many years as well. My family and I are nomads and are very seriously looking to move to either Nicaragua or El Salvador...or both. I do love both countries for similar and different reasons. I do appreciate that new fintech can be complicated for the average person and the lightning network is difficult to setup for the average person as well. A start for you might be to download the Muun wallet on your phone and from there it is very easy to send both layer 1 BTC & layer 2 Lightning transactions from one mobile wallet. The nice part about doing the Lightning transactions is they are pretty much free or very low cost to send where the BTC network can be costly for sending transactions depending on congestion. I am pretty sure if you started to work with BTC more then you would pick it up quickly as I know you are a very smart dude. :) It is the same for as I am so busy raising my family I can't devote the time that I would like. I can totally see how you have no time as you talk about the struggle on every episode. I would love to send you some coffee money in BTC on the Muun wallet if you are up for it.
Also do you have a way to be reached by email personally? Do you do or would you do an online session with my wife and I to help answer questions regarding a potential relocation to Nica? I do watch a lot of your videos and get very valuable information from them but I know they are posted with a specific community in mind and I would like to discuss my family's situation more specifically and just get your opinions if you even have them. Of course I know this is just OPINIONS and not any type of life coaching or financial advice as you are just some person on the internet. This is not urgent as we are not moving for 2 years but I need to start to make the plans now and narrow down our choices based on different factors..
As always I very much appreciate you spreading and sharing all your knowledge on Nica...
      Warmest Regards

16 minutes in and you have not said anything of value. Why to you spend so much time talking about hypothetical situations? Everything you have said to this point people know. We know the job has to be over the internet and we know it we are going to have to learn a new skill. Just tell us the job you know other expats are doing and we can look for the skill that we have or can learn in a short time. This video should be 10 minutes of value.

no, read comments, almost no one knows that. If you KNOW it needs to be online, then you already know all that anyone can tell you. If you think someone can tell you some magical job "other people" are doing... then you need more videos like this! I have an entire video explaining why that isn't something anyone can think that they can ask. Do you actually anticipate that there is one job every person, regardless of education, skill, interest, age, etc. does? That makes no sense. Why would other jobs exist if there was one job for everyone?

I literally have a video explaining why that's a crazy thing to think could exist. So given that anyone thinks that, by far most people have no idea that they might need to work online at all.

I'm on online CIO. I know other online CIOs here. If you are looking for one magical answer, there you go. Was that helpful? If you have the skills to do a job online, then you know you can do that job online. If you have to ask someone what jobs exist, that suggests you aren't qualified for those jobs. online jobs aren't different than normal jobs. The job for you is the one you are qualified to do. No one but you can therefore answer what jobs to look for, only you know what experience, skills and interest you uniquely have. Like all jobs, it's unique to you. There isn't even close to one job category that more people noticeably do than another. Electric grid engineer, concert lighting engineer, CIO, CEO, manager, veterinarian, telephony engineer, COO, accountant, doctor, teacher, ISO 9000 consultant, restaurant designer, software engineer
