Was a big ford fan. I drive an f150. I really wanted a bronco 2 door base when they were introduced for $28k only 3 YEARS AGO! They raised that price by about 20% since. Then they recently announced they were slowing production on trucks and broncos. To add to that, my 2017 f150 has had xmission issues. I'm out. Shopping now and widening my options.
I paid sticker for a loaded 2 door V6. I like it as my 40th birthday present. I get plenty of compliments, but you’re not missing out on much else. I actually miss my old Xterra though the 2.7 V6 on the two door is fun on stock 32” tires. 35s needed the performance tune and sport mode to put the pep back in.
I'm with you on that been a Ford fan all my life but I don't see me spending50 k for a starting price or let alone 60 for an entry level xlt! I went to Chevy's website and priced out a Silverado 1500 custom 4x4 crew cab and that was fully loaded at 47195 with the 2.7 and with the 5.3( custom tail boss)that went to 55700 fully loaded with what I wanted. I think I may be switching brands!!! All the others that I have seen are starting in mid 50 k range
Any else ever notice that Ford photoshops weird tires on the images of F150s? They are WAY bigger than stock sizes and are really square "shouldered". It looks bizarre every time I see it.
Same, I have a 2022 f150 tremor, I consider the 360 camera a must have feature for parallel parking in town. I purchased that option outright. I wouldn’t even buy the truck today with that as a subscription, ford can go f*ck themselves. A subscription for a camera I already bought????
I wonder how many times this configuration module will change. They also removed the sport appearance package from the XLT. I hate all that chrome on a truck. Also are they including remote start on all the trucks now?
I was thinking the same thing, currently you can't get an XLT w/ Powerboost and a bench seat, has to be the 5.0, which seems strange to me. hoping they clean up the configurator as time goes on.
Ford seems intent on pricing themselves out of the market with "home ownership" pricing for even basic trucks. Since there are lots of 2023 models sitting on lots unsold...raising prices on 2024 models seems like a losing proposition. If anything, they should have cut prices across the line.
When Ford puts those “subscription” items on their trucks, it doesn’t just make them look greedy, it makes them look like all their competitors. So instead of standing out and doing something different, they are just following the trend.
One thing they overlooked that makes a difference for those of us who like to build race trucks. You can no longer configure a single cab short bed truck. If you press single cab and short bed on the website it says that that combination doesn't exist. That sucks.
SO WRONG....Last year's base XL RCSB was also a 6'5 bed, but came with an anemic 3.3L V6. This year's '24 base XL RCSB IS a RACE/work TRUCK, gift from Ford. It comes ONLY with the mighty 5.0 Coyote V8 AND a locking 3.73 gear set STANDARD !! The '23 had the V8 as a $2560 option and you could only option a locking rear with the 3.31 gear set for another $420 ! Price $38,565 for the '24, $38,810 for the '23....AND the '24 has more equipment !! P.s., when did a RCSB ever come with the tiny 5'5 bed ?!
@@arkhsm I honestly don't know what you are talking about but lat year you could option the XL trim with a single cab and the short bed and you could option the 3.73 gears though most people said with a super charger you want the 3.31 gearing anyway becuse with the 3.73 1st gear is unuseable with a super charger. Also you could always option the cyote engine that was never an issue.
Like what, a Ram? You mean one of the most expensive but oldest trucks on the market? You mean the truck with the 3.6 Pentastar V6? You mean the truck that doesn’t have a regular cab in the current gen truck? You mean the truck that is bought out by a foreign company that is running the company into the ground, causing factory workers to lose jobs due to plant closures? You mean the truck that is getting rid of the best thing from them, the TRX? That company? Or the bow tie company, who has completely separate interiors for the lower end trucks? Or that has a gutless V8 that their own 4cyl out performs. Or the company that has a $70,000 base model EV truck? Or the company that has a big V8 that sucks premium gas and can’t even compete? Or the company that sells the same truck twice with a grill change? Or are you the guys that claims reliability? The one that saw Ford’s engine working well and had the copy them not once, but twice, and still be worse? And even though this engine has turbos, you will still say that it will last forever even though small, high strung engines have worse reliability?
@willcultra3268 I guess you haven't went truck shopping in awhile. Ford has the most expensive trucks around. I was going to get a new truck but my ram is 10 years old and runs perfect without having to go back to the dealer for any problems. I've owned a Ford and I knew the service department from going back for problems. Other people that owned my model year Ford had similar problems. The only thing that Ford has going for it is it doesn't rust otherwise I wouldn't consider an F150.
@@MrHemikid426 If I am being honest, I am a huge proponent of used vehicles. I would much rather buy a used truck that might be 5-8 years old. Currently have a 2010 F250 with zero problems besides rust. I just don’t like it when people jump on any company just because of a few numbers.
Glad I got my Tremor early this year. I was not thrilled about paying sticker price (ordered it with the options I wanted (not what the dealer wanted)), but I got it in about a month for around $68k which is starting to sound like a pretty good deal (and thank God no auto-start/stop). I guess I lucked out on the 360 camera timing too.

Just checking the Platinum configuration today in BC, Canada. $131,057 CAD incl taxes , (blue cruise not added because monthly subscription), no monthly subscription for 360 camera.
I bought a 200 dollar crashed f250 7.3 powerstroke and dumped 30k into it. This thing makes me smile way more than that 90 thousand f150 ever could! Let alone the 36k entry level truck.
Taking away a super cab long bed option is a mistake in my opinion, along with it only being available in an xl. Next you wont be able to get a longbed truck without steping up to the superduty, reminds me of the manual transmission phaseout fiasco.
I owned a super cab long bed fx4 with the 5l v8 and I love the thing, towed everything with it (once I towed 17k lbs, which it didn’t like) I only sold it because I bought a mega cab dodge Cummins.
@@jackthibodeau6810 I have a crew cab longbed f-250, if they made an f-150 In that configuration I would consider stepping down to the 1/2 ton. According to Ford the new f-150s can tow more than my 09 superduty!
My config came down to $53k. Suprecrew, stx 4x4 and elocker. Add the mandated ford dealer tax, gvmt tax, loan, insurance, etc and it's a $65k truck... I'm loving the Bidenomics!
Yeah, I was waiting for the new model year, but with premium features on a subscription fee, I'm out. I'll look at other brands or preowned before I give Ford a penny of subscription money for a truck I *bought*. You're spot on, Roman, subscription nickel-and-dime schemes only infuriate customers and cheapen the brand.
Can somebody explain to me how this continues to be the best selling vehicle in America with prices like these? Are buyers taking out 7+ year loans on these things? I don't get it.
I get decent raises every year but they're not anywhere near keeping up with the crazy increases in truck pricing. So I could have three Subaru Crosstreks for the price of one Platinum F-150...Wow!!!
We have ordered a 2022 (then upgraded) to 2023 (now upgraded again) to a 2024.... Ford Maverick XL hybrid. Have not got 1, and we ordered 4. One thing, we are tired of waiting and will be getting a yellow Mitsubishi Mirage Hatchback ES when it comes to the dealer near me.
Dropping the 8' bed on the super cab is a significant change. A longer truck is a more stable towing platform. Given this change, and the elimination of the heavy-duty payload package, Ford is definately directing a subset of its customers to the F-250.
I've now configured a RCSB (FORD's gift to the new, (and they're near invincible), race truck scene), and an STX. Both trucks were on average $1800 CHEAPER spec-ed the same, with the new '24 coming with some equipment not available on the '23, or now standard ! What IS different, is the '24 doesn't come as basic, meaning it of course has a higher overall starting price. Also, the Platinum with 703A is now efectively replacing the Limited at the top trim level !!
It used to be vehicles would have two owners in their life. So half the buyers were for new. Now it’s five owners so the new buyers are the top 20%. So yeah only the rich need to be marketed to. The rest of us are now used buyers.
@gordonn4915 that's no joke. I've been looking at 2017 and newer trucks the last few months and nearly all of them show 3 to 5 owners. I bought my 2012 XLT F150 brand new. I've taken good care of it and not given me one problem. I decided I'm keeping it and just going to drive an "old truck" instead of dealing with the cost and BS of these new trucks.
Doesn't look like they do the 2kw pro pwer any more. The cheapest way now is the XLT 3.5 ecoboost hybrid with 2.4kw and 90 day Blue cruise trial @ $60,820 or a 3 year sub at $62,920 !!
I configured a STX 4x4 fx4 with coyote engine and 3.73. It was the same cost as a brand new Cadillac CT5 with the luxury package and all available options (included upgraded Bose sound system) Ford could of least thrown in a moonroof
Well TFL team next time you get a chance to talk to Ford reps during one of your demos, tell them those subscriptions need to go away! Unbelievable, paying almost $100K and you still need to pay for features already installed.
My goodness . . . agree. 360 Deg camera was a total deal maker for me in my 2018 F150 Lariat (I use it every time I back into my garage and almost 8-10 times when I park it in a lot or on the street). If I had to pay monthly to keep I would feel extremely agitated. Having said that ... my F150 is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned (my 12 th or so vehicle, which includes a BME 335XI which I also loved, fantatastic car). Ford does have a great product in the F150, there is no doubt and . . . it takes $$ to hire the best and develop the best . . . the cost has to = wow factor. Not easy when competing with the cyber truck. Tall order at Ford but . . . after a solid 5 yrs and 2.5 trips across country and countless camping trips pulling my RV (love the towing package ...). . . I'd still strongly consider a replacement 2024 Lariat, I do love my F150 . . .
The STX I spec'd for my needs is $57k. I can get a midsize that fits my needs for MUCH cheaper. Still overpriced. It's not just a Ford issue. All the full-size and midsize trucks/SUVs are way overpriced. They're not even hiding that they're overpriced. They say so blatantly. They're proud of it. The American manufactures have gotten rid of the vehicles that get them through the inevitable future recessions. The moment they produce a less expensive option, they can't build nearly enough. They're somehow surprised many people don't want a $60k vehicle without any frills. I truly believe that the foreign manufactures will be completely fine with their less expensive and smaller vehicles. The American manufactures are going to ride the bailout train once again.
I tried to configure a 2024 F-150 but it was imposible to build one with the options I want, almost every option is ties to a specific engine, traction type (4x4 vs 2x4), cab/bed size or package.
That 360 degree camera subscription was a mistake i have a ford f150 but either way for my next im Leaning more towards a chevy 2500 hd truck. The price for a 75k 2500hd fully loaded ready to make money hauling excavators and skid loaders is better than a truck that is 90k and can only haul a light duty trailer. Even the f250 is around 90k
My last 5 vehicles have all been Fords. My family all drive Fords. I own a decent amount of Ford stock. They've always been really good vehicles for us. But the changes to 24 are the single most infuriating thing that's happened recently. I usually upgrade every few years, but definitely will not be doing so this time until Ford pulls their head out. Literally every single configuration that I would want to buy is no longer available. Features that used to be available as an add-on are now locked behind $10k or $15k trim level upgrades. That pissed me off enough. But this shit with a subscription JUST TO USE THE DAMN CAMERAS THAT COME WITH THE DAMN TRUCK seriously make me want to sell my truck right now and buy something else. My wife's next car was gonna be a Bronco, now I'm thinking I'll have to look at other options.

My buddy bought a brand new Ram just before the pandemic hit for $50k CAD. His brother recently went to order the exact same truck with literally zero differences and it was going to be $70k

I understand subscriptions for software, but for something that you already own it should be illegal, it’s not like they are gonna keep working on the 360 degree camera and making updates every month. Now with the whole self driving I can understand it since it’s always getting upgrades, don’t like it but I could understand that. I wonder if they will start charging the people that already have 360 camera in previous model years
I bet someone will be able to hack the options on the truck that require the "subscription" before to long. I can tune out the "auto start stop" feature on my car, can't be that hard.
Base model or just for a few thousand more a Tacoma TRD...seems like an easy choice. I won't buy any vehicle that comes with a subscription. Especially when the subscription is just an unlock. I could see if it offered onboard wifi or something like that, but just to turn on a camera...big NOPE.

Then they recently announced they were slowing production on trucks and broncos. To add to that, my 2017 f150 has had xmission issues. I'm out. Shopping now and widening my options.
I was a die hard ford guy. After seeing how shit has gotten I be looking at chevy more often then naught
titan!
@@testrella04can get a used Pro-4X recent model for 36k. Under appreciated truck for sure.
Subscriptions for hardware already on the vehicle is BS. Ford needs to knock that crap off. The trucks are already stupid expensive.
Any else ever notice that Ford photoshops weird tires on the images of F150s? They are WAY bigger than stock sizes and are really square "shouldered". It looks bizarre every time I see it.
I believe the only reason you couldn’t option the 36 gallon fuel tank on that platinum is because the power boost has a 30 gallon fuel tank
Yes
Subscriptions will benefit the aftermarket installers.
The subscription for cameras is crazy!! I have a '22 Superduty but would never buy a Ford truck where I have to pay for monthly features.
Same, I have a 2022 f150 tremor, I consider the 360 camera a must have feature for parallel parking in town. I purchased that option outright.
I wouldn’t even buy the truck today with that as a subscription, ford can go f*ck themselves. A subscription for a camera I already bought????
I don't understand why its $5000 for 4wd in a f150! If you configure a f250 it's only 2500!
Solid axle is probably way cheaper than ifs 4wd in the f150
I wonder how many times this configuration module will change. They also removed the sport appearance package from the XLT. I hate all that chrome on a truck. Also are they including remote start on all the trucks now?
I was thinking the same thing, currently you can't get an XLT w/ Powerboost and a bench seat, has to be the 5.0, which seems strange to me. hoping they clean up the configurator as time goes on.
I got 22 sport and absolutely love it….why would they remove that, sad
Ford seems intent on pricing themselves out of the market with "home ownership" pricing for even basic trucks. Since there are lots of 2023 models sitting on lots unsold...raising prices on 2024 models seems like a losing proposition. If anything, they should have cut prices across the line.
None of these rip off prices include dealer adding and markups. A base model single can f150 could cost you over 40k after ttl let that sink in!
Chrome looks terrible on the XLT, no more sport package?
Just bought a brand new 1995 F250 for 2500 bucks.
Congratulations lol
Your sister is a lucky lady.
@@terrence4405 I'm glad to be your uncle soon
When Ford puts those “subscription” items on their trucks, it doesn’t just make them look greedy, it makes them look like all their competitors. So instead of standing out and doing something different, they are just following the trend.
Well now you guy’s only went 6 years, and never reviewed the 3.3 V6. Guess you won’t have to now 😂
When people start optioning out of trucks that have those subscription items those trucks with it all will sit . Me personally they all will sit
A single cab short bed truck Tremor would also make a good overland truck.
@@darkcircle899 To get 3.73 gears on a regular cab 5.0 before you'd have to get 4x4 as well, comes standard on 2wds for 24'.
Ford is nuts raising prices more. I would shop other brands and get more for your money.
@@willcultra3268 Stop spamming, Ford fangurl.
@@terrence4405 Could at least spell correctly if you are trying to insult me.
@@MrHemikid426 If I am being honest, I am a huge proponent of used vehicles. I would much rather buy a used truck that might be 5-8 years old. Currently have a 2010 F250 with zero problems besides rust. I just don’t like it when people jump on any company just because of a few numbers.
You can’t get the larger fuel tank on a hybrid and can’t get FX4 with the CCD suspension. Always been that way.
I actually did the same thing with my lariat powerboost and I saved myself like 8k with all the options I wanted.... Its crazy how much they are going up for pretty much the same shit...
I bought a 2023 and saved myself 7 k.
Just checking the Platinum configuration today in BC, Canada. $131,057 CAD incl taxes , (blue cruise not added because monthly subscription), no monthly subscription for 360 camera.
Ford used to build trucks that regular folk could afford. Sadly, those days are loooooooooooong gone..
360 degree camera is included with no future subscription required on the XLT 302A mid on a 6 1/2' bed with the 5.0 liter I just did a build on.
Andre always makes an amazing job!
Can somebody explain to me how this continues to be the best selling vehicle in America with prices like these? Are buyers taking out 7+ year loans on these things? I don't get it.
You can’t get super cab with 8 foot bed, why would they do that? Most contractors have this setup, including myself.
Good job Tommy.
The fact that you are basically spending 50k when buying a near base truck is absurd
It’s called inflation. Thanks uncle Joe!
Power adjustable pedals not avail on XLT 302A mid, got to add 4000 plus and stuck w 20" wheels on the 303A high - ugh
I get decent raises every year but they're not anywhere near keeping up with the crazy increases in truck pricing. So I could have three Subaru Crosstreks for the price of one Platinum F-150...Wow!!!
Thank you!
Is the 2024 Ford F-150 single cab with 8 foot bed available with the power boost hybrid engine?
Ford forgot to add the fifty dollars a month subscription to use the term signals
Do you have a video explaining Fords new subscription service and out of curiosity does that affect older than 24 models
I like the digital dash and stuff but I can say this….I better be happy with my 22 302 for years to come because this is insane
Guess I'll only be buying older used trucks from now on.
I have a extremely well equipped 2.7 4x4 ‘21 f150. That sticker Was 53k. Now that same truck in 3 years has gotta be near 60k
Same, XLT Sport and the ‘24 equivalent is nearly $8K more.
How much is the least expensive way to get both ProPower Onboard 2KW + Bluecruise with the 2024 F150? Thanks!
Doesn't look like they do the 2kw pro pwer any more. The cheapest way now is the XLT 3.5 ecoboost hybrid with 2.4kw and 90 day Blue cruise trial @ $60,820 or a 3 year sub at $62,920 !!
@arkhsm got it! Thanks for the info-- will head to the configurator now--- hopefully they will offer this on the Ranger one day!
I configured a STX 4x4 fx4 with coyote engine and 3.73. It was the same cost as a brand new Cadillac CT5 with the luxury package and all available options (included upgraded Bose sound system) Ford could of least thrown in a moonroof
The stx with 2.7 looks like the best deal if you dont need adaptive cruise
Tall order at Ford but . . . after a solid 5 yrs and 2.5 trips across country and countless camping trips pulling my RV (love the towing package ...). . . I'd still strongly consider a replacement 2024 Lariat, I do love my F150 . . .
Driving through Texas I saw a lot of King Ranch models.
Kia does the subscription for remote start in the Telluride. It's not worth paying extra for
The STX I spec'd for my needs is $57k.
I just can’t believe that these prices can be sustainable.
Can you turn on the 360 degree camera view with forscan
Do they have massaging seats in the platinum?
Eventually they will be listed as 1 bedroom tiny homes, so someone could actually afford payments on a 30 year note.
I tried to configure a 2024 F-150 but it was imposible to build one with the options I want, almost every option is ties to a specific engine, traction type (4x4 vs 2x4), cab/bed size or package.
There are a lot of removed options. Some of them confuse me. Why can't I get full led on xlt and tremor anymore?
I'll never forget my dad bought a new 2003 F350, 4x4, crew cab, 7.3 diesel XLT for $36k out the door and now a base f150 is more.
I work at the PO. Someone posted in our breakroom that theyre giving big big discounts for a brand new Ford F150s and a free TV. Cant even get rid of their overflowing inventory of current F150s. Goodluck selling these Ford!
Brother next time you're standing in front of a Ford executive bigwig, can you ask him what's the point of putting an MSRP sticker on the car if the dealerships look right past, like it's a joke
Agreed
Ford is not allowed to comment on this. You must ask your Government.
@@wolfgangpreier9160 🤣😭😀
Ford is paying people millions of dollars to come up with an MSRP, that they're not even using, free paycheck. I mean if you were trying to cut cost in your business this would be one of them
Better yet ask them how much money they make selling your data to 3rd parties.
8’ bed was never available in super crew configuration
Yeah, I think he meant supercab. MOre 'simplification' when the best thing about Ford was they still offered more configurations.
My buddy bought a brand new Ram just before the pandemic hit for $50k CAD. His brother recently went to order the exact same truck with literally zero differences and it was going to be $70k
It's crazy that just 10 years ago, the base price on trucks was closer to $25k
My very first truck was a brand new 2006 Sierra work truck 2wd and the only upgrade I wanted was the 5.3L V8, it was $22,000. That little shit could scoot.
It’s called inflation. Thanks uncle Joe!
@@RustyShacklefordlivefreeordie don’t ya mean Bidenflation?
I was going for the Powerboost until I saw the price so I’m going with a F250 with the 7.3L for $48k
Maybe ford should give us a subscription fee to use the brakes
this is so absurd. regulations are ruining our car and truck options
I have a 2021 F150 King Ranch powerboast with all the goodies. Now you can’t get massaging seats, Wi-Fi and a few more option and the price went up $10k. I’m done buying cars. Work from home and get a lease from my company every year the wife can drive.
They also took the 2.7 option off of the Lariat and above.
The destination charges are ridiculous with ford 1900 dollars bmw is 1000 why?
BMW is faster to get to its destination 😂
Base model or just for a few thousand more a Tacoma TRD...seems like an easy choice.
I won't buy any vehicle that comes with a subscription. Especially when the subscription is just an unlock. I could see if it offered onboard wifi or something like that, but just to turn on a camera...big NOPE.
100% about the subscription service in vehicles. I loathe it when car manufactures do this
Tommy looks like Jimbo from American Pie haha Cheers
at this time should i buy a 2023 tremor with or 2024 tremor ??
