Best vaporwave mix I’ve ever heard in some time. This style and mallsoft (if there is even a difference, are my favorite subgenres of vaporwave). Thanks bro!
As a kid, I used to make long car trips late at night with my parents, because our relatives live far away. This list makes me relive the feeling of being tired in the car, seeing the street lights flashing by, while semi-listening to the late-night radio. Mum already asleep, me pretending to be asleep, and dad doing his best to be silent and to drive calmly.
I used to take the family on road trips to see family 8 hours away, I’d put on Art Bell as we drove all night through the desolate desert and rural parts of California to the Bay Area. It was such a trip

Wow, that first track definitely drew me in. There's honestly a market for this nostalgic kind of vibe and I wish more restaurants and malls realized that instead of trying to "modernize" constantly, ripping out the soul and appeal of the place. Those neon lights contributed to such a warm, welcoming atmosphere which you just don't get anymore. Several years ago I was staying for a couple of days in a friends house while he was attending university in Toronto (I was already off). I remember I was alone on the couch, channel-surfing the TV and started watching the Weather Channel after lunch. I fell asleep and woke up at about 4pm, with the sun setting and casting a soothing milky-orange sillouete on the wall, while the Weather Channel was in that smooth jazz frenzy when they keep showing weather forecasts for god-knows-where... man... that afternoon I felt CHILLEDィ花ぱ.
I remember listening to this playlist quite a bit back in 2019-2020 then forgetting it, but now I'm getting back to the -waves and overall mall and documentary music. These genres are always so calming, too bad the malls now are either dead or sanitised (everything is now white and grey).
POV: It’s 1989 and you’re at the mall shortly before closing, trying to find your nephew a cool birthday gift. The only sounds are the faint mall music and the occasional person walking by in the mostly deserted building.
Ahhh nostalgia. The nerve medicine i need. Now you have your mask on worrying if there’s going to be a fight or mass shooting all while asking yourself will this mall be on the next dead mall series.
There is a restaurant chain called "John's Incredible Pizza" that you can still eat at and it looks EXACTLY like this kind of aesthetic. This chain is also the CLOSEST EQUIVALENT to a real life Freddy Fazbear's Pizza (of course without the man behind the slaughter crap) and they actually have an indoor rollercoaster in it as well. There are even themes dining halls of whatever preference you like that you can eat your pizza in. And surprisingly, the pizza is actually pretty good! (Sorry for the rambling. This picture just reminded me of that pizza place. But yeah! Go check it out!)
This is hands down the best vaporwave mix I've ever heard. Listening to this at 1:00AM is really a pleasant experience. Almost feels like from a different world.
Its wild how vaporwave went from extremely obscure underground stuff to mixes on youtube getting over 700k views. I only found it a little over a year ago. Maybe more people are finding it because the people who grew up in the 80s and 90s are more an more getting to the age where nostalgia hits us hard. I was born in 88 and i know i wasnt really prone to nostalgia until i hit my 30s
That was an experience I'll never forget especially with A&F, Hollister stores. Civilized ppl shopping or just walking through the mall for pleasure, exercise, sit down & have a meal & a drink & music.
Vaporwave at night can do one of three things to the average listener: it can transport your mind to a different plane of existence whilst simultaneously making you philosophically inclined, give you the energy to combat the night and show the world who you really are, or hit you with the depressing realization that you peaked somewhere in life and it's been going downhill ever since. Nightwave is eerie and erratic since it takes what vaporwave is known for and adds a subtle or obvious vibe in the mix. It Maybe night partying, night pondering, night adventuring, or night depression. Whatever the case may be, vaporwave satisfies any night vibe, and I love it!
Reminds me of being a kid, in the backseat of my mom's Nissan Stanza crossing over the Bay Bridge with 102.9 KBLX lightly playing on the stereo ❤ 80s baby, 90s kid
This photo was taken in a mall, at Red's Rec Room, I'd put the date somewhere between 1998 and 2005. Used to go there all the fuckin' time. It was an arcade, a bowling alley, a bar, a music venue, and they had the best nachos I've ever had
The other day I played this at a get together with millennials and everyone said this was the weirdest music they had ever heard. That was the greatest complement Ive ever had.
They had to be GenZ or born after 96 to not understand it but you might be right cause I've had mixed reviews on vaporwave , I cant live without it though and I'm a millennial.
I miss being a kid in the 1980s very much - the clothes, the movies, my Mom taking me to the mall, listening to Metallica tapes and staring at my Van Halen poster on the wall. Best decade.
usually vaporwave doesn't sit quite right with me, not that it's bad by any means, I just thought it wasn't for me. THIS, though- has certainly changed my mind- WOW. fantastic mix and selection.
this sound is a mental time capsule. many have never seen or experienced this time but the sound creates these memories that aren't real but they feel real.
Late guy here. But, let me just express how thankful I am for this mix. It’s stunningly beautiful... Nothing beats relaxing to this on a nice Friday midnight after a long week of work/university, while gaming or just doing art. I’m totally entranced by this mix especially once 31:37 kicks in. Much love to all those who have gathered here. Until we meet again, somewhere on the vast reaches of RUclips.
As someone who 100% spent late nights as a tween/teenager listening to vaporwave hits on the local jazz station in the 90s--bravo. It's 1996 all over again and I'm sitting by the window, letting the moonlight in as I chill to the radio.
At this point, I’ve played this video as white noise COUNTLESS times. Whether as a sleep aid, panic attack relief or even casually at work, it’s truly been my go to for so many occasions
Late night host with echoeey voice doing announcements... memories, Radio 10 Gold 1990-1999. Always playing groovy funky electronic chill tracks from the 80's.
Am not happy I saw everyone I loved deteriorate mind/body/soul am not grateful that we was given permission to live am not grateful that we live in ignorance people lie to themselves to much because if you really cared about this life you could see how much better it could've been I guess it's my fault I was given a soul and senses to see the difference
I get sad sometimes knowing I'll never get to experience 80s/90s malls without phone addiction and social media addiction on everybody's mind. I was born in 1999💔
It was a pretty special time. I grew up in the 80s and 90s when shopping malls were at the height of popularity. They're struggling to fill them with shops these days.
I remember going to the mall.. shopping in the mid 90s. it was an experience. it was fun. it was where we hung out.. and the feeling of holiday shopping with the music, decorations , people and special booths was so much fun
The website is not what is used to be, back in the day. It used to be pretty awesome. Now it’s all censored, communist and perverted. Btw please don’t take Our Lord’s Name in vain. Peace!
I don't know why but the image with the accompanied music makes it feel like you're staying up late while everybody is either asleep in their rooms or just not in here, some one forgot to turn off the lights and the music, so you're just here bored and excited to see more of this place.
Man this is memories from when I first found vaporwave. I would just look for vaporwave mixes, and just listen to them while I did whatever I was doing. What memories they were.
This playlist becomes my friend when I feel lonely and drink something alone... So precious. And this gives me a lot of inspirations about life, feelings and composing music as a hobby.
2001 It's 8 pm in the evening, striding around the mall away from the family. Thinking about things youth thinks not a care in the world, before you know it, its 12 am the gang is heading back home 20 min on the highway coming back after an adventure. This mix does a good job reminding me back in those time that I miss so dearly!
A couple of weeks ago i started playing this mix on my TV at low volume every night after like 9 or 10pm on my bedroom. It really sets that calm, midnight vibe, and i absolutely love this mix so much 🌃 And the image choice is just perfect, I've never heard about Reds Rec Room before but I hope to visit the place one day 🛋️🌌
Please someone find a way to encapsulate the feeling that washes over me when I listen to these musical masterpieces so I can relive the pure ecstasy over and over until I'm sick😢😢
An awesome mix. It captures the essence of the picture perfectly and reminds me watching the weather channel at 4AM while my dad gets ready for work 💜💜
I always hear of people having to do a thesis to graduate from college but I went to a university for four years and never had to do one to make it out.
only a month into this semester n everything feels like its going to shit, im behind on all my classes n i have zero motivation to “get my shit together”…. this is weirdly comforting its like even if everything feels like a mess, this music makes me feel like its all good
I remember having dinner with my gf and putting this playlist on. Having it recommended again brings me memories of her and I eating pizza. I wish i could go back. (yeah i liked to put vaporwave as a background while having dinner with her)
Vaporwave is a strange music style, it gives you a sense of comfort and nostalgia. It feels better in a stressful time of your life when you just want to relaxe
Makes me think of GTA Vice city and the overall 80s era with the mall in general and you'd see VHS type of commercials it wouldn't sound crisp it would sound blurry. and not just that it reminds me of a super market food store where you using your cart to pass on by the food ails picking some stuff. Gosh I love vaporware ✨
This.. Is how my dreams sounded.. As a kid.. I feel like I could’ve awoken and heard it on tv.. Idk it’s a strange feeling like I’ve heard this music and the picture.. The vibe of it all. Amazing stuff ❤️☮️🕉
I truly believe this music is what was actually playing at major malls and stores back in the 80's. it was only until years later, we realized "vaporware" was R E A L .....
First track reminds me of the smooth jazz my mom played when we were kids at our pool. She passed away and I miss those days but they always come back hearing similar songs.
Best vaporwave mix I’ve heard in my life, I love eating my subway sandwich + staying late coding stuff and staying more late until the mix finished, thank you my friend, please never delete this mix because it’s part of my life now, it reminds me when I visited rolling acres as well and more stuff, it’s awesome dude

İt's like I'm walking late night through a crowded shopping mall in the 80s, yet I really grew up in the 90s. This mix is a literal time machine
This sounds like something you would hear in a 80s mall while raiding the stores and hanging out with your friends-
This photo was taken in a mall, at Red's Rec Room, I'd put the date somewhere between 1998 and 2005. Used to go there all the fuckin' time. It was an arcade, a bowling alley, a bar, a music venue, and they had the best nachos I've ever had
also, to your total lack of surprise, they had an Austin Powers pinball machine
@@FloppyRodrigo awesome
The other day I played this at a get together with millennials and everyone said this was the weirdest
music they had ever heard. That was the greatest complement Ive ever had.
Are you sure they were millenials? I'm a millenial and vaporwave is my comfort music.
@@darryl2542 yeah yeah,
millennials for sure. you must be an awesome anomaly.
@@darryl2542 yeah me too. i have a couple friends into vaporwave and 90s nostalgia. i think ppl confuse genz w/ millenials
They had to be GenZ or born after 96 to not understand it but you might be right cause I've had mixed reviews on vaporwave , I cant live without it though and I'm a millennial.
@@MrGlassfield As someone born after that time, I can confirm this is my comfort music. we too can understand Vaporwave.
I miss being a kid in the 1980s very much - the clothes, the movies, my Mom taking me to the mall, listening to Metallica tapes and staring at my Van Halen poster on the wall. Best decade.
I remember when the world was like this. Too bad, kids!
What kind of place is the one shown in the video please? Looks quite cool!
Good for you Boomer👍🏾
@@Fl01710 its called red's rec room, it was this little part of the IKEA store back in the 90's to where it doesn't exist anymore
@@zem1381 Thank you for telling me :) Take care!
I wish I was born in the 80s or 90s
usually vaporwave doesn't sit quite right with me, not that it's bad by any means, I just thought it wasn't for me. THIS, though- has certainly changed my mind- WOW. fantastic mix and selection.
I'm genuinely so happy that this mix was able to make you happy and enjoy the genre
I been to this arcade where it still be open late pass midnight, it’s very oldschool.
this sound is a mental time capsule. many have never seen or experienced this time but the sound creates these memories that aren't real but they feel real.
this is probably hands down my soul favourite genre of music and culture
This is hands down the best Vaporwave playlist on YT.
I'm so glad you like it :)
jesus christ. this is just gold.
Mah boi! This is what *all* true warriors strive for!
Thanks for listening, I'm glad you're here :)
As someone who 100% spent late nights as a tween/teenager listening to vaporwave hits on the local jazz station in the 90s--bravo. It's 1996 all over again and I'm sitting by the window, letting the moonlight in as I chill to the radio.
That sounds so dreamy~
Absolutely perfect for working on projects while it's dark outside
God bless Vaporwave, in all its glorious subgenres 🙏 🌊
At this point, I’ve played this video as white noise COUNTLESS times. Whether as a sleep aid, panic attack relief or even casually at work, it’s truly been my go to for so many occasions
I like this playlist, it's closer to the classical vaporwave, not the synth-wave/lofi you see today.
If only i could go into the picture and vibe forever
Late night host with echoeey voice doing announcements... memories, Radio 10 Gold 1990-1999.
Always playing groovy funky electronic chill tracks from the 80's.
This makes me nostalgic for an 80s mall and a smooth jazz concert I am loving this.
A time that is simply gone.....every moment spent is just another moment further away from those times
Like these 90s type. Best era ever. Remind me when i was young.
I’m not gonna cry because it’s over.
I’m gonna smile because I got to live it.
That's inner strength💪
Am not happy I saw everyone I loved deteriorate mind/body/soul am not grateful that we was given permission to live am not grateful that we live in ignorance people lie to themselves to much because if you really cared about this life you could see how much better it could've been I guess it's my fault I was given a soul and senses to see the difference
There is this moment of perfection around 1:06:55. When the saxophone comes on. Oh my god. I can't stop listening to it.
This Playlist feels like a cool hangout spot where we all gather to just chill and reminisce.
I get sad sometimes knowing I'll never get to experience 80s/90s malls without phone addiction and social media addiction on everybody's mind. I was born in 1999💔
You should come to my town, here in Brazil. People still hang out in malls a lot here kddndjskhz
At least you was born before 2000
Shmood, fellow 99 here I'm in the same boat
This is some straight up late 80s "Quiet Storm" R&B stuff. I LIKE.
One of the best mixes I have found on this god forsaken website, you know the vibe, thank you for this mix.
The website is not what is used to be, back in the day. It used to be pretty awesome. Now it’s all censored, communist and perverted. Btw please don’t take Our Lord’s Name in vain. Peace!
@@RapidCycling07 haha I couldn't agree with a comment more. Jesus will return soon, this place is falling apart like old wallpaper.
@@EM-mr8ys heck yeah can’t wait too. In the meantime I’m thankful I get to enjoy this funky music

Perfect 1980s throwback!
Yep! 100% Vaporwave is basically 80s/early 90s nostalgia.
So glad you like it!! 😄
I feel like I'm back at Kmart in 1991.
I don't know how I feel so nostalgic for a decade where I didn't even exist, but here we are. Love the video
Couldn't pick a better opener than S.W.A.K., such a good song
agree!!
this makes me want to travel to a big city and watch the nightlife from a dirty old parking lot bench
and i will
That’s a good one 🧃🤹♂️🧩🎲
I see a little smoke filled club on the beach with neon lights. Lots of smiles and laughter. Good times.
Loving this perfect late night mix! It's so relaxing and smooth and is giving me 1980's/1990's retro vibes!!!
I don't know why but the image with the accompanied music makes it feel like you're staying up late while everybody is either asleep in their rooms or just not in here, some one forgot to turn off the lights and the music, so you're just here bored and excited to see more of this place.
Liminal spaces??
@@nighterror3967 I guess so XXDD
Man this is memories from when I first found vaporwave. I would just look for vaporwave mixes, and just listen to them while I did whatever I was doing. What memories they were.
This playlist becomes my friend when I feel lonely and drink something alone... So precious. And this gives me a lot of inspirations about life, feelings and composing music as a hobby.
My favorite jams 😎 I wish I could just jump into this picture and kick it here for an evening
Me too! This place used to exist in my city, I wish it was still there!
Oh wow...this is my first time actually listening to vaporwave, it's beautiful. It gives so much 80s style mall vibes, I love it.
i’ve looked high and low for the best 80s/vaporwave/synth mix and THIS is it
A couple of weeks ago i started playing this mix on my TV at low volume every night after like 9 or 10pm on my bedroom. It really sets that calm, midnight vibe, and i absolutely love this mix so much 🌃
And the image choice is just perfect, I've never heard about Reds Rec Room before but I hope to visit the place one day 🛋️🌌
I'm listening to this in the morning and nothing will stop me
I'm a huge metalhead but vaporwave hits different tbh love it 💙💙💙
Same here. Vaporwave and retrowave are pure art
Please someone find a way to encapsulate the feeling that washes over me when I listen to these musical masterpieces so I can relive the pure ecstasy over and over until I'm sick😢😢
the weather channel has entered the chat
An awesome mix. It captures the essence of the picture perfectly and reminds me watching the weather channel at 4AM while my dad gets ready for work 💜💜
Sitting here at 3 am with heavy head, dealing with my thesis, I remembered about this mix and now my nighttime suffering is a bit more stylish 😄
@Bonk Thank you very much, it turned out really nice and now I'm an university graduate :)

Vaporwave will always have a special place in my heart. Love the mix
I remember having dinner with my gf and putting this playlist on. Having it recommended again brings me memories of her and I eating pizza.
I wish i could go back.
(yeah i liked to put vaporwave as a background while having dinner with her)
are you okay? is she okay? did anything awful happen, or just the natural course of relationships?
Vaporwave is a strange music style, it gives you a sense of comfort and nostalgia. It feels better in a stressful time of your life when you just want to relaxe
Makes me think of GTA Vice city and the overall 80s era with the mall in general and you'd see VHS type of commercials it wouldn't sound crisp it would sound blurry. and not just that it reminds me of a super market food store where you using your cart to pass on by the food ails picking some stuff. Gosh I love vaporware ✨
Love that game
This.. Is how my dreams sounded.. As a kid.. I feel like I could’ve awoken and heard it on tv.. Idk it’s a strange feeling like I’ve heard this music and the picture.. The vibe of it all. Amazing stuff ❤️☮️🕉
If you're Indian, some of these music's you might have heard during dinning in big fat weddings happening pre covid.
@@sssrrr1988 whoaaa
I’m listening to this wonderful soundtrack with my kitten. It’s very calming and nostalgic 🖤🖤💜💜
I've had this mix played on repeat throughout the day. That tells you all you need to know on how much I love it.
Glad you're enjoying it!
@@nighterror3967 i think my only problem with is the part at minute 16:25. It sounds messy there.
@@steventan2754 surprisingly, that’s the song, not my mixing
Best vaporwave mix I’ve heard in my life, I love eating my subway sandwich + staying late coding stuff and staying more late until the mix finished, thank you my friend, please never delete this mix because it’s part of my life now, it reminds me when I visited rolling acres as well and more stuff, it’s awesome dude
