@Maath_Faseli Agreed. One of the problems particularly for our free to play players is where to invest the blood. They tend to go for Electra, and then someone for monsters, and then go "Oops. Defense too??"
When I was K25 until K30 I used Trajan as defense general and Kiet as assistant 😂 I got a lot of enemies killed. I did a lot of traps too but I always secured the Knight Hall. Life was simplier back then
The Dragons seem to be abit difficult to upgrade, so currently Im using a spiritual beast for Roland, at this stage it gives me 18% attack buffs which is good, I use the red dragon for Elektra, so I think I will give Fanfir to Ulyssis. I was surprised you didnt include Boudica in the defense generals, is she really bad? Top players in my server use her, I was really thinking about working on her, but I still havent because Im thinking that since Im ghosting all the time in pvp, I wouldnt need a wall general. I really needed that video, and my server is around 2 months old so I will share it as well, thank you very much
Boudica is great if you have high buffs, if you're a low spender you probably don't have that so that's why I don't recommend her to new players. The problem is that mounted are vulnerable to archer marches, you have to have enough buffs to survive a full archer attack before you get to attack them, so low spenders won't have the buffs to survive that exchange.
@@Maath_Faseli That's a very fair point many (including me) didn't really know or consider... and even with strong anti-ranged Buffs I often suffer at the hands of that inevitible Archer March the moment they Scout I'm using Boudica. I think the reason I (and many) use her is that 1) at lower levels not many people have strong Ranged Marches (but then again at that Level you won't survive PvP very long anyway) but more importantly 2) *almost* everyone starts as a Monster Hunter to try to actually get the rss/speed/materials/experience etc. to progress so they're Cavalry heavy (assuming someone is actually around to tell the Cavalry is the strongest in this role... I was alone for ages not knowing!) so the instinct is to go with a Wall General that fits in with all the Cavalry you already have... though if you're inexperienced you won't know about layering or that if you're not sporting at least T12/13s things are not going to go well in any PvP conflict. However my experience very much differs from yours here where wou say lots of your opponents hit you with Archer Marches at first so Trajan did well... almost everyone I met until K32/33 (again including me) started as a Monster Hunter so had concentrated on Cavalry and that was the first thing they sent without Scouting; I would have really suffered with Trajan on the wall, as would you if I'd attacked you 🤣 I'm still with Boudica at mid K30s (9 star - my only one) with Zach as assist (no red stars but plenty of saved up Fragments) and am considering moving Zach in after Ascending as I get higher with the ever growing vulnerability to huge Archer Marches and the need for balance... but sorry, that isn't what this video is addressing. If I'd known then what I know now I think I'd have gone with Zach as my main.
Glad you didn't concentrate much on Trial of Knights; when I was F2P I don't think I ever had enough _Blood of Ares_ to be Ascending to get Generals that way (though to be honest I didn't know much about the event at all). I think most of mine were (as you say) Relic or Tavern but I did get some from the "one that looks like _Hall of Historic Generals_ but with three columns" (no memory for names!)... no cash for General Fragments if you kept up Daily Activity and for about $5 the second column compled gave out a General when complete (at 50)... and a March or Avatar frame at 40 - it used to happen all the time but Evony seem to have cut back on it recently. Also worth getting the PC version for when they do the occasional PC only event where just logging in on the PC every day of the event will get you a General. On the *Champions* front, that's great info but add in that FREE Empowerment and Greeting each day is the same Loyalty points as 0ver 20 Ruby Necklaces, since Evony's latest changes, and they're a major free source now. Personally I went with *Roland* over *Hannibal* because I got him first (actually I didn;t get *Hannibal* for an age - I find it interesting your stats and categorical statement says *Hannibal* is so bad when at least one _very_ successful and experienced online player still uses *Hannibal* I believe at around the K40 mark... FWIW, I had to choose between Roland* and *Custer* who I got at the same time, and there are still plenty of 'facts' disagreeing on which of those is better too. I preferred *Roland* as it happens and just felt it was a shame I had trouble getting him an assistant. As it happens, because he was my main for so long and therefore built up when I started to pay he's now retired from 'active service' but helps ou by having 3 red stars in the Mounted post of the Senate... but that's seriously a discussion for another day! OK; sorry but I just reached 'go with Richard the Lionheart but only when he reaches 3 or 4 red stars'... 3 (your minimum) is 2260 Blood of Ares... and you're expecting a F2P player to get this how? I've only got 4 or 5 generals on 3 red stars plus and I've been putting in (too much) cash recently to get near that - getting 1 from Daily Activity then, even in a *very* active Alliance who're Rallying monsters big enough to drop Blood regularly, you'd have to play almost continuously every day for, what, 8 or 9 months, probably more, to get that amount of Blood _just for one General_ (and that's 3 star not 4 star)... unless there's something I, and just about every player I know, doesn't know. Actually how did you, spending that little... have you got significant free time and a multi-hundreds strong Alliance? The thing with the trial of knights is that there are very few options and they are all decent generals that are better than the free ones. So it comes down to the fact that there really isn't much to analyze for them.

Hi all. -before picking a set of generals F2P cities should figure out if they will be Joining PvP rallies vs Setting PvP rallies. -If you are the rally setter, rally capacity should be the primary thing in the combo. -For those joining the rally, the march size needed to fill the rally capacity, should be the primary thing in the combo. example(mounted/F2P) Roland + a good march size assistant is great for Joining PvP rallies. Martinus + Lysander is the best combo for rally capacity/Rally setter. Martinus can combo with more assistants than Roland. -do your due diligence for siege, ground & range based on what your roll will be. -The path of a rally setter & a rally joining city is different. ____For Wall Generals_____ -If your city is based on power/percentage for high tier troops then go with a defense general combo that compliment your troop defense Help with all troops....Richard the lionheart/Leo III Help with range/siege/mounted/ground defense (do your due diligence) -If your city is based on flat refines for t1 troops then the power from a defense general will not help much. a. Go with two debuff generals b. Sanada isn't great as an assistant; however, he has a lot of other uses. You can put him on your sub cities and his debuff still applies, you can fully ascend him without blood of ares, so he makes for a cheap main monster hunter

Here’s what I have started so far: Elektra, Roland, Ulysses, Elise (ToK). For the wall Zach Taylor as I am predominately range with a t1 cav trap. Would you recommend switching to Richard still once I get enough to 3-4 star?
It depends on which you prefer, Richards defense is more balanced and he does have some good siege buffs, Taylors ranged defense is very strong, but it might struggle against a ground march if your T1 wall isn't strong/big enough

@@Maath_Faseli I am sure you know a lot more than me but I would say the point of the T1 Cav (with flat refines on all your Buffs) is to hold that Ground that Mounted do so well.
@@blujustin4175 Your T1 wall should be strong enough to deal with a ground march on their own, boudica won't give T1 mounted any meaningful buffs since they are % buffs. It's wiser to invest in a general that will buff troops that will benefit from the % buffs.
As someone who is new-ish and don't spend much, this video doesn't exactly fit what I was hoping for. As anyone goes through the game, you'll be getting some of these premium generals, along with an some dups. The things I struggle with is if I should go with a free champ vs a premium champ with only a dup or two. For example, I have electra and Douglas. I could get Douglas to one red star right now or I could farm and slowly build Electra. What should I go with? Its hard to tell me outright because you have no idea how quick I could get Electra pieces /how much I farm relics. I'd really love to see a calculator that I can punch in the stats of two generals and it spits out the values for each. That way I can play around with star levels and other stats to help me see who I should go with for my situation.
My video on calculators shows you how to calculate those numbers for each specific general. You should always go with the free general over the premium if you're a free player. You have to think about it in the long term, you won't be able to fully ascend Douglas but you can Elektra. You could also change from Elektra to Winfield Scott and you'll farm him way faster.

Maybe its there and I just missed it. I really don't want to waste blood of ares ranking up a lesser free general. Its just not worth it, so I'd rather wait a bit longer and do Elektra.
@@Maath_Faseli I haven't checked the video yet but have to agree that a decent General you can Ascend is better than a great one you can't... actually I would argue that for the *PURE* F2P player seriously consider some of the newly Ascendable Purple Generals - _Blood of Ares_ is like hen's teeth if you're F2P and getting the 620 required to get to just the first star on one general is going to take forever. With the Purple Generals all you need are Fragments so if you get a spare (if you can get the Gems to perfectly dismiss him) that's your first Orange star right there.

I want to use roland for both pvp and monsters, But i don't know who to chose as an assistant for him .. i'm thinking of having one assitant for monster(Maria) and one for pvp (massena or washinton prime) So who do you recommend in that case? The other thing is the skillbooks setup I use cav attk , attk against monster and luck on Roland. But therefore massena will not pair with him becuase of the atk skillbook, and 2 of the 3 books won't help in pvp. so what are the skill books setup that i need to work on for all 3 of them (roland and the 2 assistans) to get the best results in both pvp and pve?

Don't use martinus. Martinus is worse than Roland in every way, so there is no reason not to use Roland. For monster killing sanada and Baibars will work fine, but I wouldn't upgrade their specialties

I'm not sure what the actual % chance is for each general, I only found martinus 2 or 3 times during the time I fully ascended Trajan, but some people say they see him all the time. The only way to increase your chances is to upgrade the tavern, but even then it only means you'll see more gold historics.
Martinus is worse than Roland and harder to get. Dewey is only in the one daily chest so it's nearly impossible to fully ascend him for free. Boudica is not a good general for free players as she relies on high buff high tier mounted troops to make an effective defense. If you want a T1 trap Taylor or Richard are both better than boudica as the % buffs she gives to mounted will be miniscule compared to the flat buffs from gear refines.
Martinus is just worse. He has 21 more total attack compared to Roland, at the difference of 16% march size. That's at full stars and specialties. Roland has a dramatically better ascension along the way- you get benefits in offense at stars 2 and 3, which is significant when you're a low spender. You also don't *need* a dragon, and can give Fafnir to Grant if needed. That boost in attack for Martinus also only comes in at the 5th specialty, which is a huge deal for free players.
I think this is the best for new free to play players.. Archer: Elektra or Minamoto Cavalry: Martinus or Poligenus Ground: Elise or Aurelius Siege: I think it's better to save some General scroll and try to get 1 or 2 copies of a premium Siege general is some event. They're always the best compared to any free Siege general. They can even best or comparable to the fully ascended free general even if they are not ascended, especially now that there is covenant buffs. Don't worry, you don't need to train Siege and do pvp with Siege in your early level, you will be training Siege in the around mid game. So don't invest on anything yet. Wall: Boudica, yes, choose her, nothing else. She buffs the Cavalry the best. For a free player, the best way to enjoy the game is become a trap player. And the most effective trap is cavalry T1. That's why she's the ideal wall general in buffing your Cavalry. You don't need to pick cheaper general since changing general is very expensive and a waste of a valuable resources. So, invest on your late-game general. That's all.
for an average K40 march (which is what everyone is building towards), Elektra gives 52.2 billion extra damage, winfield scott gives 50.7B, Minamoto gives 42.3B. For a K40 mounted march Roland gives 79.5B, Yue Fei gives 77B, Martinus gives 76.8B, Poligenus gives 83.7. Martinus HP and Def are also lower than Roland, so Roland is far superior. Boudica is not a good general for a free to play player. If you want a T1 trap base her buffs are % based and a % of T1s is minimal, the flat refines from gear is what makes a T1 trap. It is better to use Richard or Taylor since they can actually buff troops that will matter. As for investing in the late game, for a free player these are the late game generals, the only exception is the trial of knights generals, whom you will be able to get one or two.
Elektra over Minamoto because she can take an attack book and has march size buffs. Roland over Martinus for the same reason as Elektra over Minamoto. Elise, yes....as long as they keep her in ToK. Free to Play keeps and ToK don't mix well because you have to potentially hold off on ascending someone useful to ascend/dismiss a different general to get enough points to redeem Elise while maintaining your BoA inventory. Trajan/Toshiie is a very strong ground combo for F2P keeps. 1-2 copies of a premium siege general is only useful IF they have march size buffs in their base skill and specialties. Most have march size buffs at 3 red stars, so unless you have 7 copies, Grant will still be stronger because of his massive march size increase from his ascension and specialties. Boudica is fine, there's no magic T1 wall general (the flat refines are what truly matters), but an effective T1 trap that can hold off a ground, cav, archer, and siege attack will have light ground, cav (T4+), and siege layers. The reason for light ground layers is because a strong ground/cav march will absolutely wipe out your ground troops and you'll lose the power exchange. Same goes for siege against an incoming siege attack. Because archers are so well protected on defense as they are sandwiched between siege and your vanguard troops (ground and cav), you can build as many archers as you'd like. This will also be useful because early game rallies are mainly archer rallies. Therefore, if you're heavy on archers in your keep and light on all other troops, it's useful to give those archers some extra buffs, which is why Zachary Taylor is a great option over Boudica.

Kusuhoki is a decent choice, he's easier to get than Zachary and more usable at low levels than Richard, long term tho he gets outclassed by them

The best assistant would be Washington prime, Andre would be a close second. Maybe Caesar could do well since he has the debuff to monster defense?
Maeda is actually a natural wall gen and is decent in that respect. Hannibal isn’t terrible and has uses like Monsters

Sanada isn't great as an assistant; however, he has a lot of other uses. You can put him on your sub cities and his debuff still applies, you can fully ascend him without blood of ares, so he makes for a cheap main monster hunter

Here’s what I have started so far: Elektra, Roland, Ulysses, Elise (ToK). For the wall Zach Taylor as I am predominately range with a t1 cav trap. Would you recommend switching to Richard still once I get enough to 3-4 star?
It depends on which you prefer, Richards defense is more balanced and he does have some good siege buffs, Taylors ranged defense is very strong, but it might struggle against a ground march if your T1 wall isn't strong/big enough

@@Maath_Faseli I am sure you know a lot more than me but I would say the point of the T1 Cav (with flat refines on all your Buffs) is to hold that Ground that Mounted do so well.
@@blujustin4175 Your T1 wall should be strong enough to deal with a ground march on their own, boudica won't give T1 mounted any meaningful buffs since they are % buffs. It's wiser to invest in a general that will buff troops that will benefit from the % buffs.
Hanibal and Martinez are both viable cav options also.
Both Hannibal and martinus are worse than Roland, there's no reason to use either of them over roland
As someone who is new-ish and don't spend much, this video doesn't exactly fit what I was hoping for. As anyone goes through the game, you'll be getting some of these premium generals, along with an some dups. The things I struggle with is if I should go with a free champ vs a premium champ with only a dup or two. For example, I have electra and Douglas. I could get Douglas to one red star right now or I could farm and slowly build Electra. What should I go with? Its hard to tell me outright because you have no idea how quick I could get Electra pieces /how much I farm relics. I'd really love to see a calculator that I can punch in the stats of two generals and it spits out the values for each. That way I can play around with star levels and other stats to help me see who I should go with for my situation.
My video on calculators shows you how to calculate those numbers for each specific general. You should always go with the free general over the premium if you're a free player. You have to think about it in the long term, you won't be able to fully ascend Douglas but you can Elektra. You could also change from Elektra to Winfield Scott and you'll farm him way faster.
@@Maath_Faseli thanks, I'll have to check out the video. I was hoping to find a spreadsheet already done that would allow me to analyze this myself (for two generals at different star levels). Maybe its there and I just missed it. I really don't want to waste blood of ares ranking up a lesser free general. Its just not worth it, so I'd rather wait a bit longer and do Elektra.
@@Maath_Faseli I haven't checked the video yet but have to agree that a decent General you can Ascend is better than a great one you can't... actually I would argue that for the *PURE* F2P player seriously consider some of the newly Ascendable Purple Generals - _Blood of Ares_ is like hen's teeth if you're F2P and getting the 620 required to get to just the first star on one general is going to take forever. With the Purple Generals all you need are Fragments so if you get a spare (if you can get the Gems to perfectly dismiss him) that's your first Orange star right there.

I'm f2p, and I have Roland as my main Cav general and i've Massena, maria theresa and Washinton Prime.
I want to use roland for both pvp and monsters, But i don't know who to chose as an assistant for him .. i'm thinking of having one assitant for monster(Maria) and one for pvp (massena or washinton prime)
So who do you recommend in that case?
The other thing is the skillbooks setup
I use cav attk , attk against monster and luck on Roland. But therefore massena will not pair with him becuase of the atk skillbook, and 2 of the 3 books won't help in pvp.
so what are the skill books setup that i need to work on for all 3 of them (roland and the 2 assistans) to get the best results in both pvp and pve?

Don't use martinus. Martinus is worse than Roland in every way, so there is no reason not to use Roland. For monster killing sanada and Baibars will work fine, but I wouldn't upgrade their specialties

Roland is impossible for me to get I have gotten two Trojan, two John Karl and two Sanda. Still no Roland wow he’s very difficult to get
I'm not sure what the actual % chance is for each general, I only found martinus 2 or 3 times during the time I fully ascended Trajan, but some people say they see him all the time. The only way to increase your chances is to upgrade the tavern, but even then it only means you'll see more gold historics.

Martinus is worse than Roland and harder to get. Dewey is only in the one daily chest so it's nearly impossible to fully ascend him for free. Boudica is not a good general for free players as she relies on high buff high tier mounted troops to make an effective defense. If you want a T1 trap Taylor or Richard are both better than boudica as the % buffs she gives to mounted will be miniscule compared to the flat buffs from gear refines.

Martinus is just worse. He has 21 more total attack compared to Roland, at the difference of 16% march size. That's at full stars and specialties. Roland has a dramatically better ascension along the way- you get benefits in offense at stars 2 and 3, which is significant when you're a low spender. You also don't *need* a dragon, and can give Fafnir to Grant if needed.
That boost in attack for Martinus also only comes in at the 5th specialty, which is a huge deal for free players.

Archer: Elektra or Minamoto
Cavalry: Martinus or Poligenus
Ground: Elise or Aurelius
Siege: I think it's better to save some General scroll and try to get 1 or 2 copies of a premium Siege general is some event. They're always the best compared to any free Siege general. They can even best or comparable to the fully ascended free general even if they are not ascended, especially now that there is covenant buffs. Don't worry, you don't need to train Siege and do pvp with Siege in your early level, you will be training Siege in the around mid game. So don't invest on anything yet.
Wall: Boudica, yes, choose her, nothing else. She buffs the Cavalry the best. For a free player, the best way to enjoy the game is become a trap player. And the most effective trap is cavalry T1. That's why she's the ideal wall general in buffing your Cavalry.
You don't need to pick cheaper general since changing general is very expensive and a waste of a valuable resources. So, invest on your late-game general.
That's all.
for an average K40 march (which is what everyone is building towards), Elektra gives 52.2 billion extra damage, winfield scott gives 50.7B, Minamoto gives 42.3B. For a K40 mounted march Roland gives 79.5B, Yue Fei gives 77B, Martinus gives 76.8B, Poligenus gives 83.7. Martinus HP and Def are also lower than Roland, so Roland is far superior.
Boudica is not a good general for a free to play player. If you want a T1 trap base her buffs are % based and a % of T1s is minimal, the flat refines from gear is what makes a T1 trap. It is better to use Richard or Taylor since they can actually buff troops that will matter.
As for investing in the late game, for a free player these are the late game generals, the only exception is the trial of knights generals, whom you will be able to get one or two.
Elektra over Minamoto because she can take an attack book and has march size buffs.
Roland over Martinus for the same reason as Elektra over Minamoto.
Elise, yes....as long as they keep her in ToK. Free to Play keeps and ToK don't mix well because you have to potentially hold off on ascending someone useful to ascend/dismiss a different general to get enough points to redeem Elise while maintaining your BoA inventory.
Trajan/Toshiie is a very strong ground combo for F2P keeps.
1-2 copies of a premium siege general is only useful IF they have march size buffs in their base skill and specialties. Most have march size buffs at 3 red stars, so unless you have 7 copies, Grant will still be stronger because of his massive march size increase from his ascension and specialties.
Boudica is fine, there's no magic T1 wall general (the flat refines are what truly matters), but an effective T1 trap that can hold off a ground, cav, archer, and siege attack will have light ground, cav (T4+), and siege layers. The reason for light ground layers is because a strong ground/cav march will absolutely wipe out your ground troops and you'll lose the power exchange. Same goes for siege against an incoming siege attack.
Because archers are so well protected on defense as they are sandwiched between siege and your vanguard troops (ground and cav), you can build as many archers as you'd like. This will also be useful because early game rallies are mainly archer rallies.
Therefore, if you're heavy on archers in your keep and light on all other troops, it's useful to give those archers some extra buffs, which is why Zachary Taylor is a great option over Boudica.
I have 150 fragments of Petronas, I runned the calculations. A 3 red star Petronas is still worse than Ulisses with 5 red stars. Just an example...
