@@abiromu Yeah but if you already are a popular brand known to make exquiste watches then you labour dosen't count much as you r getting same money for less work but you have that reputation of royalty and class
As a beginning watch collector, I enjoy the technical aspects of mechanical watches. However, there is joy also in fashion quartz watches. But as for luxury items, it comes down to craftsmanship and attention to detail. This is what I look for in luxury items. My last luxury piece was a hand crafted table.
IMO your watch should never ever exceed 1% of your net worth or yearly income. Invest the money first, and buy Luxury after you can really afford it. Because your business partners will judge you by your watch. And if you wear a Rolex as a young professional by making 100k a year, they’ll know that you’re bad with money. Wear a Rolex with 1M net worth, they’ll know that you take good care about values. Pateks are for double-digit Millionaires. And for Billionaires? Bill Gates wears a 50$ watch... My go-to atm is my modded 70$ Vostok Amphibia. It’s mechanical and checks all the boxes regarding heritage and status for those in the know. All money saved goes into invests for now. Those will pay off for luxury later.
Alux.com Yes definitely and this video shows all of the things, i just wanted to add that it also has the value of being able to last a very long time to pass down for generations
There's no fun in quartz watches. Might as well just use a phone or fitness tracker instead. A nice automatic movement is just better and surprisingly also environmentally friendly (no battery)
> Says automatic is environmentally friendly > Says quartz sucks cause Butteries > Says phone & tracker is better (maybe they use environmentally friendly BATTERY, who knows)
Heei Gabriel! We appreciate your suggestion and while we don't have a video planned about dropshipping in the next few weeks maybe sometime in the future we'll do one :)
What a thing is worth in monetary terms is based purely on what someone who doesn't own it is willing to pay to become its owner. Sometimes that number is truly astonishing, an indication of how much money some people have. All the most expensive watches in the world are mechanical, but as aesthetically pleasing(?) and wonderfully engineered as they are, they remain no more accurate than the average $20 quartz watch. In 2008, a corn flake shaped like the state if Illinois sold for $1,350 because someone was willing to pay that much to become its owner. That corn flake apparently was meant to help draw visitors to a museum. Would you pay money to see this corn flake or the other unique items in a museum that boasts a corn flake among its exhibits?
Urban Gentry once noted hearing of a young woman who was teased by her friends for wearing an Omega while they were wearing cool Daniel Wellington watches.
If the items resonate to my true calling; ever feel like “I’ve got only eyes on you, not others”. I’d consider the functions, designs, & history behind the craftsmanship. I bought additional GMT master roselor everose. My SA was able to get it ready for me around Valentine, almost right before pandemic happened. Glad. Then even more arduous longer waiting list since Rolex factory in Switzerland is temporary closed.
I totally respect all that fact but I am just wondering for Richard Mille for instead among the most expensive watchmaker, this brand has been established for less than 20 years and they do outsource therefore how can they justify its price ?
First off, a RM does have plenty precious metals. Secondly, I think they're selling very complicated watches (If you don't know what a watch complication is, Google it up.), and finally, I think it's also partially because of their design.
Think of All the watches of the same price and then decide which watch to buy, just costly doesn't make Sense, Casio offers much utility watches for 30 usd
Quartz watches are actually more reliable in a lot of conditions than mechanical ones. And, a lot of the times people happily pay for the brand and the marketing behind the watches. Those who say quartz watches have no soul should also remember that their phones have no soul, the soul is only in the pigeons which were once used to carry letters. To me, mechanical timepieces are like luxury vehicles, because I might take an expensive mechanical watch to the boardroom in the near future but I won't take it to the golf course or to the gym just like I won't like to ride a Rolls Royce on rough terrains/for daily use or to ride a Ford Raptor on special occasions
Sorry, the only good reason to buy these watches is to flip them. Buying a watch that runs down all the time with non practical luxury materials added is a giant waste of time otherwise.
"Luxury watches don't go out of fashion". That is completely nonsense! I own a very fine 70's Omega that is practically worthless due to its rectangular design. I also own a couple of other watches from famous brands from the battery-era. They are worthless as well. I assume that you are reffering to one specific brand: Rolex. That happens to be the only "high street brand" that retains its value in money. All other "fine" watches are just like cars. What "super-exclusive" brands like A. Lange und Söhne, et al. conserns, there aren't any statistics to analyze - because those are rear. THAT is luxury!
I swear she (Alux gal) or silly people are obsessed with chronographs (watches) too many videos on this. How do we diversify our portfolios, do we do bonds or stocks? Commercial properties or multi families? Get us paid and we'll focused on getting laid (spoiling ourselves) 😁 fair enough?!

There are many high-end watchmakers whose watches are actually worth the price.
@@abiromu Yeah but if you already are a popular brand known to make exquiste watches then you labour dosen't count much as you r getting same money for less work but you have that reputation of royalty and class
@@abiromu I guess you're not giving Rolex the respect it deserves, then.
Yep. That's why for 1/10 of the cost you can buy an indistinguishable Rolex replica
So basically 10% you pay for the actual watch and 90% you pay of how it makes you feel.
100 agree . no freaking way any mechanical watches cost as much as $3000 let alone 10,000

Because of movement of the watch, jewellery used by the watch, reputation of the brand, cutting edge design and latest tech.
That's a bit oversimplified, but pretty much nailed it.

The main reason is just they last forever, and most likely are made in precious metals

The $31 million Patek Philippe Grand Master Chime is a wonderful watch.
$31 million is for dumb asses. A high quality premium watch should not cost more then 7-10k. Everything above that is Name brand.
