As a musician, I can say without a doubt that this song is the sole reason why i wanted to play music. Being a 7 year old who was happy to get a couple Pokémon cards free when I went to watch the movie in theaters, this movie is a masterpiece and with a song as elegant as this, it brings a 29 year old to shed tears of joy.
Disturb not the harmony of fire, ice or lightning, lest these titans wreak destruction upon the world in which they clash. Though the water's great guardian shall arise to quell the fighting, alone its song will fail, thus the earth shall turn to ash. Oh, Chosen One, Into thine hands bring together all three, Their treasure combined, tame the Beast of the Sea.
Let's just all agree that Lugia's Song is the kind of music that unites everyone no matter what background we come from. This is the music of peace, love and hope.
I remember watching this in the theaters when it came out. That song haunted me for a while. Such a great piece. I get ptsd from time to time when i hear it haha.
I was 4years old back then and i couldn't enjoyed it in theatres. I slowly starting playing pokemon in Gameboy color. My first rom was silver version. Oh i cant remember how many hours i spent to understand how to meet Lugia. I played so many games after that. And i still think that i spent the most in silver version. I gonna catch them all. Never did that at last but the journey was amazing. Thank you pokemon 1st 2nd and 3rd gen for the amazing childhood you gave me :')
And this is why Lugia is the best legendary. Not until Arceus has a single legendary stood up to three other legendaries and stomped them. And Lugia did it first, despite the typing. Even in-game, the stat line lets Lugia be an absolute tank.
You are being too kind, I gave them 3/10, it was terrible TBH, neither the director or SEVERAL of the musicians took this seriously, just because it is from a game or anime series people should take this lightly, this is a Master Piece and the compositor deserves respect and precisely for all the memories it brings back for many of us.
It is honestly a pretty bad cover. The strings are too overpowering over the brass, everything feels off tempo, and the second half doesnt have nearly enough energy as the original does. The biggest offender is just the complete absence of the rising transition in the middle of the piece that really makes it feel like all the instruments are coming together for the end
Military Band Olomouc - Lugia's Song (Pokémon The Movie 2000) is the bast.!!! much better than the one I have listened to on this youtube channel too much miss the song that does not fit into
I've got here the dutch version of the prophecy: "Gij zult nimmer de harmony tussen vuur ijs & bliksem verstoren. Op dat deze opperwezens niet met elkaar in botsing komen, en de ondergang van de wereld zullen veroorzaken. Of schoon de grote beschermer van het water zal verschijnen om een eind aan het gevecht te maken, zal zonder hulp, zijn lied weg sterven, zodat de aarde zich tot as (ash) zal keren. O uitverkorene. Breng met uw handen alle drie tezamen, hun krachten verenigd, temmen het beest van de zee"
Where are the 1st Horns and 1st Violins? Violas and Cellos only, no 3rd or 2nd Violins in the low string middle section pls. So many prominent moments haven't been brought out, a little disappointed, nevertheless happy to see it be performed live.
I’m not sure why 4Kids never used an actual orchestra for their dubs of the Pokémon movies...the Japanese soundtracks were orchestrated (and they probably should’ve just used those soundtracks for Mewtwo Strikes Back and Spell of the Unown) and they had enough money to get all of the 90s pop songs into the dub
listening to this after hearing darkgoku08's video of lugias song, i have to say that the second half doesnt hold as much power in the sound of it as gokus videos did. Listening to that one sounded like listening to a band that had a passion to make that song and gave there all, this one... not as much
they are missing brass, the 2nd half is where trumpets and horns shine and they should sound quite a lot while here you hear the string and barely any brass at all.
@@zinniaq3020 Sure it may capture the emotion but it didn't match the scene in Pokemon 2000 movie. Japanese version made much more sense and matched the scene better than the American version
@@TranceEternality I thought it matched the scene perfectly well except for the last few seconds where the music was still playing even though Melody had already stopped playing her Ocarina

Okay... That was clever. 😂
One of, if not, the best pokemon OSTs to this day. It's for sure the most beautiful
I think Oracion is tied with it.
Michael Davis no this is number 1
Oracion is more calming I think, also it made me cry more
I'd recommend watching the Japanese Version because 4kids took out some amazing tracks.
From all things.. this is getting me, an adult man, into tears 😅
You and me both, dude.
I am 33. Still crying
You're not the only one.
I had the privilege of seeing and hearing this in theaters. You are not alone.
I was 8 when this came out. Still whistle it as a grown man.
Oracion and Lugia's Song are the best Pokemon OSTs
Oracion is ok but Lugia's song is true bliss.
@@personaldove Bro never heard oracion
Oracion feels calm, lugia's song feels rather majestic compared to it, and i love them as they are❤
goated take
No matter what age and century, Lugia Theme the best and will last long..

Lugias Song and Oracion hit your soul....
This makes me cry, what a masterpiece it is. Wish we all could go back to those good old days of our childhood and enjoy it again and again ❤
I still remember watching the movie and trying to play this piece on piano( probably failed) when I was 7/8 years old.
I love how in the movie Lugia isin't even scratched by their attacks.. Meanwhile in the game Articuno destroys Lugia

@BraedynDaAce That's a 1v2, Lugia was a 1v3. A close comparison, but not quite the same.
This is the first pokemon movie I got to see in theatres and lugia was my first favorite legendary. This shit hits home
Great performance! @AOEDallas

2:46 My favorite part.
Magnifique la musique ❤️
This song is so beautiful and how also if I heard is less
Maravilloso
THANKS ALL !
Holy moly they did a concert for this song
The conductor should be absolutely ashamed of herself. A section is clearly playing off key/tempo.
I thought at certain times she was waving her baton two much. Times like near the end when only the flute was playing.
And at 4:11 the flute player runs out of air 😂😅

This is the best song from the 2nd movie hands-down, still i wanna know who composed it. Was it Pokémon of japan or donna summers who did it?
I forgot that I loved this song back then in 2000
